  • Rock Out To The Eclectic Stylings Of Powerhouse Duo, Matching Sox In “Wrote This Song”

Matching Sox is a unique 2 piece Bass and Drums pop punk duo with Sam Downey on Vocals and Bass and Jaden Galachiuk on Vocals and Drums. The idea was created when Jaden joined now defunct band Beyond Oblivion as the Drummer, a band that Sam was playing bass in at the time. Sam became very impressed with Jaden's ability to lay down a solid beat and his emphasis on heavy dynamics. After Beyond Oblivion broke up Sam reached out to Jaden about starting an experimental pop punk project that only contains vocals, distorted bass guitar and heavy drums. The dynamic duo have been busy working on their upcoming EP which is set to release in the fall 2019. “Wrote This Song” begins with a contagious bassline and echoing vocals. As the percussion picks up, it transitions into a catchy and infectious pop tune. With undertones of alt-rock and punk, these guys explode into the music scene. Showing no signs of slowing down, “Wrote This Song” is a contagious anthem for anyone from all walks of life to enjoy. Just as the hook insists, you’ll be singing along to every word that Jaden and Sam belt out. They throw down some pummeling rhythms and tight grooves. Authentic to the core and unlike anything we have ever heard before, Matching Sox is going places. Stay tuned! Check out “Wrote This Song” here and read more with Matching Sox below in our exclusive interview. Hey guys! Welcome to BuzzMusic! Can you start by telling us more about how Matching Sox came to fruition? Hey thanks for having us on your website! Before Matching Sox was formed I (Sam) was playing in a local rock band called Beyond Oblivion. After about 3 months of playing with Beyond Oblivion Jaden joined as the drummer for the band. I was super impressed with his skills and tightness. I have always been a fan of distorted bass and bands like Royal Blood but wanted to do something different. After Beyond Oblivion broke up I reached out the Jaden about starting an experimental pop punk duo that only uses Bass Guitar and drums. He loved the idea and joined immediately! What’s the meaning behind the stage name? Honestly we needed a name for a school performance and we were brainstorming names and decided to try out the name for the performance and everyone after the show was like “your band name is awesome dude!” So we decided to stick with it ! We love your track “Wrote This Song”! What do you hope your listeners take away from it? Our main goal was to write a song that would get stuck in everyone’s head. If someone is walking down the street singing along then we are happy ! I also like everyone knowing that we only used Bass Guitar and Drums for the instrumental as we wanted to create a whole new sound in punk music. What’s your writing process like together? Usually one of us will come up with a riff on bass and then we’ll build a song around that riff. Usually we get the instrumental done first and then start coming up with lyrics. For lyrics I usually get help from my girlfriend Steph who actually wrote the lyrics to Wrote This Song! Overall though when your just a 2 piece and not a full 4-5 member band I find you can pump out more originals in less amount of time. Do you have any hints of tour dates or upcoming shows you’d like to talk about? Right now we don’t have any shows because we are working on finishing up the EP. but we are hoping to have the EP out by the fall and then we are gonna schedule shows and maybe even a tour to promote it! Can’t wait to share our debut EP with everyone ! Keep an eye out for Matching Sox ! Connect with Matching Sox on social media www.instagram.com/matchingsoxband

  • Sofie Zamchick Releases Brand New Music In EP “until we meet”

Sofie Zamchick is a New York City-based singer/songwriter, musician, and actress. Accompanying herself on VibeKAT, marimba, piano, and guitar, Sofie writes indie pop songs that are anxiously romantic, exploring intimate moments and fleeting memories. Her EP “until we meet” is an autobiographical collection of songs exploring intimacy through technology. The beginning of the EP starts off with “electric palms”. The vocals come in and blow me away! Sofie is harmonically-rich and mesmerizing as she weaves through a light-hearted love story that will resonate with any listener. The raw and vulnerable new song is an incredible intro and we’re hooked. The ethereal vocals and authentic to the core songwriting has us singing along to every word. Next on the EP is “i’ll give you away”, this track introduces a melancholic love anthem feel and we just can’t get enough. The flowing tune is sure to get you singing along with the textured rhythms and catchy melodies. Sofie keeps delivering heart wrenching and relatable songs that are undeniably memorable. “look at you” is a more vulnerable track that’s harmony laden and takes the listener on a journey. It gives us a retrospective look at the inner thoughts and feelings of Sofie. The instrumentals are blended perfectly with the addicting chorus. With undertones of retro pop, Sofie adds her own contemporary flare. As the EP transitions into “wake me up” the dynamic artist delivers a raw and honest pop track. The chemistry between the light-hearted lyricism and finely calibrated vocals is hypnotizing. We can’t help but jam along to this infectious hit. As the EP approaches conclusion, “southwest” begins with a driving change of pace. It slowly turns into a catchy, melodious tune during the chorus. Sofie’s vocals are spectacular and authentic to the core. Keeping up the consistent theme of love, wonder and adventure, “southwest” is a love anthem that brilliantly sets us up for conclusion (and possibly hitting the repeat button). The final song on the EP is “tech divide” and we can’t get enough. Slow to start, “tech divide” launches into an explosive and powerful song. Sofie brings her vulnerable outlooks and an indefinitely loud testimony to her authentic sound. The solo project, “until we meet” is a refreshingly contemporary flare to the indie-pop music industry. Sofie Zamchick’s high energy aesthetic and positivity flows through the speakers. She writes relatable tracks for all of her fans and listeners to enjoy. We love what she brings to the table and can’t wait to see what she delivers next. Check out “until we meet” here and read more with Sofie Zamchick in our interview below! Hello Sofie! How did you get started in music? What inspired you to start recording your songs? At the age of 3, I spied on my brother's piano lessons and became obsessed, learning how to read all the notes and working through his piano book. After a few months of open-ended discovery, I began studying classical piano with an amazing teacher Evelyn Golz. A few years later, I bought a pink guitar, learned 4 chords from a friend, and began writing songs on both piano and guitar. Next, I fell in love with marimba in the middle school band, which led to 3 years of Juilliard Pre-College in high school. Marimba, like the other instruments, became a vehicle for my songwriting. It's kinda crazy, but I've been working towards releasing this music since elementary school. I decided to go for it when discussing ideas for my EP with a bassist friend Lloyd Kikoler. We just clicked - he shared a similar vision for my music and had the knowledge/style to help me capture the sound I'd imagined. So I asked him to produce my EP and here we are! If you could pick one major theme for your EP “until we meet”, what would it be? "until we meet" is about the relationship between distance and intimacy. Throughout my life I've found a peculiar closeness in distant relationships, whether meeting people through technology as in "tech divide" or committing to someone far away as in "southwest." Or worst case, craving someone who is emotionally distant as in "i'll give you away." What was the writing process like for this project? This EP was pulled together from a larger collection of songs I've written over the past 7 years, unified by the theme of intimacy through technology. But typically, my writing process begins with whatever I'm feeling at the moment, followed by the musical accompaniment, melody and lyrics, and then jot it all down and edit it from a more technical, rhyme-y standpoint. It's weird, but the content usually comes last. Sometimes I have to analyze my own lyrics after writing them to fully understand the depth of where I traveled when in the flow. Finally, it's like "Okay, I get it now." We love your vocals! What age did you begin performing in front of others? Thank you! I started performing at the local JCC in kindergarten. After several kids musicals, I signed up for a casting call, got a manager, and began acting professionally. So being on stage came naturally, and I regularly began performing my songs at every opportunity. I could never be satisfied keeping my songs to myself. They are only fully realized when I perform them. Tell us more about the meaning of the lyrics in “i’ll give you away”? What inspired this song? For two summers, I participated in a program called "Building Bridges" representing New York University's Experimental Theatre Wing. About 20 artists from the US, Finland, Sweden, and Switzerland came together to collaborate on creative projects. During the project, I remember sitting with my guitar on my bed and two hours later "i'll give you away was born." I didn't realize until later how sad the lyrics were. It was a break-up song. And though we were still together, I just wanted us to be free of the pain we were causing one another. The verses were poetic and came easily. "It's a game of paper cuts" means you hurt me a bit, I hurt you a bit, and so on. "It's a game of paper planes" refers to the loneliness that comes with long-distance and the constant necessity to try to be in the same place again Do you have any musical influences? How do you draw from them for inspiration? So many! I obsess over songs more than artists. But Regina Spektor's "Begin to Hope" album changed everything for me. The first time I heard "Fidelity," I remember giddily dancing around my kitchen with my mom. Her style was like nothing I'd ever heard before - deep af but simultaneously super light and danceable. Another artist crush is Sufjan Stevens, who stays true to himself despite being wildly inventive and experimental. Oh, and Avril Lavigne - self-explanatory. It can be lonely traveling around the universe looking for inspiration. I love having great artists illuminating the way for me. • 5 Questions with Leo No Rhythm

Welcome back Leo No Rhythm! We hear things have been flourishing for you recently. Tell us about any milestones and or accomplishments since your previous feature with us? how has it been? thanks for having me back much appreciated. And yes actually they really have. Ever since I did my first interview with you all things have been doing well nothing but positive vibes I have gained more Youtube followers not many but my song has gotten a nice amount of play so I'm really honored to be back with another interview. We hear you are working on releasing some music videos to a few tracks from your EP! do you have any visuals in mind? can you hint to us what we can expect? yes indeed! I am glad that you asked that question. One of the visuals that I have in mind for my EP is for my song White boy gnarly ft Jah the black hippie and pretty much what I have in mind for this visual is a scene at the skate park where I'll be chilling rolling some trees during my verse and I want to have people in the back skating doing tricks I also went to get a couple shoot's at kick back/club pretty much what you can expect is a rocket power feel Detail us a little bit about your current project "Hippie Love Story". What was the ultimate inspiration behind this? okay so pretty much hippie Love story is a project that is to help people self reflect and be one with themselves. I would say the ultimate inspiration for this project was for me to show the world that you can make music that does not have to fit society to be great. I wanted to express on how I feel about love peace and vibes. Have you faced any challenges during the creation of this? how did you overcome the obstacle? actually to be completely honest with you yes I did I was originally supposed to drop a project as a 12 track album but I ran across some issue with booking studio time and miscommunication with artist that was supposed to be on features. So the way that I over came this obstacle is I decided that I would break the album up into 2 separate EPs instead of pushing back my release date for a second time. But in all honesty I think it's better this way the fans are not complaining. Anything else you want our readers to know about Leo No Rhythm? yeah anybody interested in being apart of the white boy gnarly music video contact me through Instagram also currently looking for a marketing team and management. • Let Pink Honey Moan’s Words Resonate With You In “Closer To You”

As Pink Honey Moan, singer/songwriter Jared Lindbloom has embarked on a journey beginning on the majestic rolling prairies of his home state of South Dakota to the eastern seaboard of NYC.  The balance of his music teeters between dusty, folky, homespun songs on his early EP's and his electro-surf-rock & pop albums with the bands Fishdoctor and Stargazy, respectively. Jared’s diverse influences include Bill Withers, Brandi Carlile, and Paul Simon to name a few. The first single "Closer to You" off Pink Honey Moan's forthcoming album is out now across all streaming platforms.  For the recording of the track, Jared had the pleasure of working with producer John Clinebell and assistant engineer Vira Byramji. “Closer To You” is an impressive ballad that showcases Jared Lindbloom’s emotive lyricism and vulnerability. The song was created during a hard time for Jared, he had been laid off from work and was living in his in-laws attic with his wife and young daughter. “Closer To You” started off as just an outlet and journal entry to his loved ones, but slowly shaped into a masterpiece. It gives the listener a retrospective look at Jared’s journey and him rediscovering his first love, music. The lyrics can be interpreted based on the listeners circumstance and allows Pink Honey Moan to build a solidified connection with his audience. Check out “Closer To You” here and read more with Pink Honey Moan below! Hey Jared! Can you tell us about your upbringing and what really sparked your creativity? Hello!  Thanks for having me!  Yes-- I was born and raised in South Dakota (most people either raise an eyebrow and say “you’re the first person I’ve met from there,” or “oh yea, I’ve seen Fargo!” :)).  Both answers are understandable, but in all sincerity I cannot imagine having had a better upbringing. I love going back to visit with friends from bigger cities and introducing them to all the beautiful people & places most folks just fly over. My creativity and music bug was ignited early on--mostly just looking for things to do during long winter doldrums.  My parents had a pretty decent record collection where I discovered Led Zeppelin, Bill Withers, CSNY, Joni Mitchell, and a bunch of other great 70’s sounds.  I received a guitar for my 14th birthday--along with a VHS tape of rudimentary guitar lessons. The first song I learned was “Wild Thing” and I remember writing a lot of songs early on about surfing and oceans (my bedroom was plastered with surf posters--wishing I was a surfer, but stuck on the snowy prairies of central South Dakota(hah!)). How long have you been singing/performing? When I was 16 my buddies and I started a band called Elysium.  We were trying our best to sound like Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, The Doors, and Incubus.  We played shows wherever we were welcomed--the VFW, flatbed trucks, basement shows, you name it-- and stayed together through our first couple years of college.  After that, my bandmate and I moved to NYC. Can you dive into the lyrics of “Closer To You”? What do you hope your listeners take away from this song? The song “Closer to You” is one of the most vulnerable and optimistic tunes I’ve ever penned.  I wanted to get my thoughts on paper after going through a difficult time--having been let go from my job, and living in my in-laws attic with my wife and young daughter.  It was initially a diary entry/love letter to those closest to me. The song came to me during a long weekend spent with friends in Stinson Beach, CA. I was out for a run one morning and started singing this little melody line with the words “cause when I’m da da da da da, and a da da da da da….I’m closer to you”.  The rhythm of my feet hitting the ground giving me the cadence to the melody spacing. With each line of the song, I want the listener to feel the breaking and bending of a change or upheaval, and resolve with the lifting and levity of someone who has learned from a hardship and been made stronger.  “I won’t play it small no more--won’t you hear my call” is the final line that is my own personal clarion call that I’m telling myself to heed. What’s your writing process look like? My writing process is usually a series of fits & starts.  As I mentioned above, I love to go for runs and clear my head.  Usually I’ll have a little guitar or piano line that I’ll record into my phone and then listen to it while running.  I find words flow more freely while exercising. Most times I’ll find “place-holder” words and just keep repeating the melody with them until I get home and record it together with an instrument.  I’m trying to get better at collaborating too. I think there’s a lot of cool things that can come about with another person’s musical proclivities and point of view. What’s next for you? I’ve got about 30 demos I’m workshopping right now with my producer John Clinebell.  Would love to whittle them down to the best 3-5 songs and put out a proper EP. Timeline on that is TBD.  Right now my gestation period is about 3 months per tune. I’m really trying to prioritize being a good father and husband, as well as balancing about 6 odd jobs in this gig economy.  I mostly just feel excited and fortunate to be making music again, and want to thank you for your interest and taking time to ask me about it!! Overall, we love Will Wolfe’s authentic sound and his eclectic new single and addition to alt-rock music scene! Listen to “Saying Goodbye” here and read more below in our exclusive interview. Hi Will! Let’s talk about your single “Saying Goodbye”. What’s the meaning behind the lyrics? The lyrics for saying goodbye are mostly about leaving my home town and moving on on life. I tried to capture nostalgia sonically as well as lyrically. I mean the phrase “saying goodbye” quite literally as I recorded and released this song during my final weeks of high school. It speaks mostly to moving on in life. How do you musical influences inspire your sound? My biggest musical inspirations recently have been Mac demarco, tame impala, and John Mayer from a songwriting perspective. Many other artist play into my sound but i can get lots of inspiration from a single song. I focus mostly on the feeling a song captures and from there I think how the artist does that and how I can apply it to my music What do you hope your listeners take away from your music? I hope listeners can get many messages from my music. I try to make my songs listenable so other people can apply what I’m saying to their life. How has your sound developed and changed over the years you’ve been composing? I definitely see myself using some variation in instruments. More synths and piano for sure. But we can’t ever seem to leave the guitar out. Do you have any upcoming shows or events you’d like to talk about? I am releasing my second full length LP later this year and have many singles coming out from it. Connect with Will Wolfe on social media www.instagram.com/willwolfe

  • Snake and the Rabbit Showcase Bluesy Riffs And Soulful Vocals In “The Weekend”

Snake and the Rabbit is the lovechild of husband and wife, Brett and Leanna Patterson. The two songwriters have been writing and playing together since 2010. In November of 2018 the duo decided to cut the dead weight and perform strictly as a two-piece from here on out. The result is Snake and the Rabbit: a stripped down, minimalist approach to Americana music heavily influenced by Psychedelic folk, American blues, Outlaw Country and lo-fi Garage Rock. Leanna and Brett met back in 2008 while she was performing as a solo artist; the beginnings of what would become Leanna May. They got married in 2010 and began playing as a duo immediately thereafter. The name Snake and the Rabbit comes from the couple’s Sheng Xiao animals. Dynamic duo Snake and the Rabbit have the sound and alluring capabilities of a veteran act. The chemistry and sheer talent that flows through the speakers in their newest hit “The Weekend”  is breathtaking. Leanna’s vocal register flows freely and flawlessly through emotive lyricism. Pummelling guitars fused with psychedelic melodies and powerhouse vocals make “The Weekend” a timeless hit. The track is groovy, relatable and an impressive release from the independent duo. Snake and the Rabbit have the admirable talent of curating music that all listeners can interpret and relate. It’s skills like this that put Snake and the Rabbit on the map in a big way to inspire and galvanize the music scene today. I highly recommend you check out “The Weekend” and stay tuned for the release of Snake and the Rabbit future releases. Check out “The Weekend” here and read more below in our exclusive interview. Welcome to BuzzMusic! Leanna May, your voice is incredible. When did you start singing? Thank you for the warm welcome and compliment. I started singing in church when I was about twelve years old; I didn't really start taking myself serious until I was in my twenties. I listened to the feedback and advice professional singers gave me over the years and tried my hardest to apply it to my voice. How do you draw inspiration from your various musical influences? I draw inspiration from various musical influences mostly by listening to underground music: I never listen to mainstream, there is no substance. I love southern blues, rock and roll, and country music from 1970's -1990's. What draws me in mostly when I listen to music is a unique voice, good guitar tone and the lyrical/melodic hooks of the song. Or anything I can sing at the top of my lungs while driving. Tell us more about the lyrics in “The Weekend”! What emotions did you have to channel while creating this song? Sometimes on a Saturday you may get stuck at home cause you don't have the funds to get to where you wanna go. Sometimes when you’re out on a tour playing music, you get addicted to a certain lifestyle of being out on the road and searching for a higher purpose. It isn't always about the destination, it’s about the journey and the time we spend being conscious of what we learn on that adventure. That’s life. We only get one, so we should take advantage of the weekends (or any free time really) to get out and see as much of the world as we possibly can. We gotta get that money somehow to live out our greatest desires and dreams. What’s your favorite lyric in “The Weekend”? Why? My favorite lyric in the song goes like this, "out on the road searching for what I got left, all the time we spend." It's about when having that moment to yourself while on your road trip or a tour and everything around you is so inspiring and peaceful. Nature seems to have everything in place, you start searching for what you should be doing with your life and how you can contribute to the world to make it a better place. What can your fans expect from you next? My writing and songs, only gain more perspective the older I get. You can look forward to a whole bunch of new songs, music videos, and tours that will be coming at you soon. We have a 3 song EP out now that features “The Weekend”. We also have a 2-song EP coming out in September. We're planning to play some festivals and get out on a southern tour next year! We have new merchandise designs and we cant wait to get them out to our fans! Connect with Snake and the Rabbit on social media www.instagram.com/snakeandtherabbit

  • J.Cast Dives Into Heavy Lyricism And Honesty In “Suicide”

J.Cast is a talented rapper and lyricist who began creating music when he was 12 years old. Born in Brooklyn, NY, J.Cast’s childhood was filled with traveling due to his dad being in the military. Always struggling to find his place in the world, music was the one true thing J.Cast knew was his passion. Growing up listening to Lil Bow Wow, Temptations, Pusha T, Camron, Lil Wayne, Nate Dogg, Snoop Dogg and many more, J.Cast was able to establish his own genuine sound. “Suicide” dives in heavy subject matter right out the gate. J. Cast gets vulnerable and honest through his raw lyricism and flow. You can hear the emotion and raw energy in his vocals. I love the R&B, hip-hop back beat, it’s refreshing and alluring but J. Cast’s vocals steal the show. He uses his music and poetry as an outlet for true emotions. It’s incredibly admirable for an artist to be vulnerable and allow their fans to relate and connect with them. We can’t get enough of J. Cast’s versatility and creativity. "Suicide" was written for an ex girlfriend of mines that was heavily into drugs. The thought was if she overdosed and died I would die too. It seems like this song is very personal to you! Can you talk more about the meaning of the lyrics? Hypothetically speaking I love my ex so much that the thought of her overdosing and dying killed me as slowly as she was killing herself. Theirs so many people in this world that can possible relate that i felt making this track and expressing my story in a dramatic fashion will bring more awareness to people in either the same or somewhat situation. How do you draw inspiration from your musical influences? by listening to artists like Eminem, Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, oldies like Freddie Jackson, Jimi Hendrix, Prince, these artists spoke the truth and really brought out their feelings. What’s next for you and your music career? currently I'm building the team in Phoenix AZ we are helping local artists to build their platforms as well as known artists who are touring through Phoenix we provide an Airbnb with the studio for them to record we call it home away from home IG @Raphousephx.
