Check out “Let Somebody Love You” here and read more below in our exclusive interview with Ksenia! Hi Ksenia! How did your musically enriched upbringing affect who you are as an artist? I am still thanking my mom for putting me through music school because learning to play piano developed me immensely! The ability to read, play music, and understand the music structure makes me a better singer and songwriter. Who are you musical influences and how do you draw inspiration from them? I am very much influenced my contemporary pop music. I love Ed Sheeran so much; how he write songs and how his songs will take hold of you emotionally. I love Dua Lipa’s deep soulful voice. And Sam Smith’s emotional songs are some of my favorites. You know how you hear a line in a song and you think, “Damn it, I wish I wrote it?” For example, in Post Malone’s song, “Better now” there is a line: “I promise, I swear to you, I’ll be okay. You’re only the love of my life.” It’s so simple and meaningful and that inspires me. I am constantly thinking of song concepts and ways to put feelings into words, but in a way that hasn’t been said yet. What’s the meaning behind the lyrics in “Let Somebody Love You”? The meaning is simple: You got to stop being so emotionally unavailable and let somebody love you. Nowadays, everyone is playing it too cool. Everything is so casual and nobody wants to open up to each other and be vulnerable. Because if you’re vulnerable you might get hurt, and no one wants to get hurt. I feel that a ton of people can relate to this song. We got to try to love freely even if there is a chance of getting hurt, because if not, then what is the point? What emotions did you channel when writing this song? It’s a sad song to me. I listen to it now and I get sad. I was reflecting on a relationship that didn’t work out in my life. It really doesn’t feel good to be with a person and not having that person choose you. They’re always looking for someone better or something else. So the emotion I channeled is pain mixed with reflection and sadness. What’s next for you? I really love music the storytelling part of it. So I am currently working on creating visuals for my songs! I have so much music coming soon and I can’t wait to share!!! Connect with Ksenia on social media www.instagram.com/iamksenia www.twitter.com/iamkseniamusic

Listen to "Conquest" here and get to know more about Geonitous below! Welcome to BuzzMusic! Can you start by introducing yourself and telling us how you got started in music? What's good! My name is Geo. I go by Geonitous I'm rapper from Texas, living in Oceanside California. I'm a 28 year old mixed race (Black/Mexican) American. I've been making music for about 3 years now. Music has been around every aspect of my life since I was a kid. I first started rapping with friends and family while I was in high school and it was just something I would do for fun. There was a period where the rap scene was garbage to me and I didnt really even listen to rap all that much. While stationed in Okinawa Japan, I bought my first audio interface, downloaded a few mixtapes and I put together my first record in 2013. It was during that time, that I got the inspiration to take my craft to the next level. Upon my return to the United States, when Tampa Florida was my new home, I went through a doleful period where I was going through a divorce, we had lost a baby and subsequently lead to a financial crisis. Where I had nothing else besides the music, I decided to focus that negative energy into a Music Project. As I would write my songs, I had this unspoken mantra that "I needed to conquer all my problems". Also, My nickname in high school was Geonitous (like Leonidas, king of Sparta). Conquest just made sense as the EP's name. The title made so much more sense as I kept trying to finish and publish the damn thing, just due to the amount obstacle I had to surmount. Who are you musical influences? How do they inspire you? How has your upbringing shaped who you are as an artist? My Dad DJ'd while he was in the US Army and my Mom Danced in college so my musical Influences were broad in genre. I grew up listening to Southern Rappers, like Two Live Crew, DJ Laz, Playa Pancho, Nelly, and Ying Yang Twins but would also have Cyndi Lauper, Madona, and Prince other random pop styles songs blaring in the speakers of my home. These artist influenced my desire to play with different sounds and make music that sound different from others. Having lived in Asia for 4 years, you hear all types of sounds and cadences, this also influences my lyrical delivery in my songs. I strive to have good content that you can feel and identify with but delivered with dynamic cadences. My favorite Rapper is Andy Mineo. I love how though he's Christian Rapper, his music is super relatable and inspiring regardless of your beliefs. It gives me hope, so I just try to sprinkle a little bit of that in my content as well. What does your single “Conquest” mean to you? What was the writing process for this track? Conquest was the first song I wrote for the project as an intro to show who I am and why I'm here. I'm southwest heat spitter 🤙🏾 I'm at a point in my life where I'm not afraid to do anything. Conquer all my enemies, conquer my insecurities, conquer all my problems. Right now, I want to make music that inspires people to find their own conquest and make it through their own arduous trails. What’s next for you? I'm dropping another single next month (end of Aug) called "Ls2Lemonade". Its about staying positive through adversity. I'm also working on my first Album. No title yet but its half way done! This dreamy new single has us craving more from Kay Soul, and personally, it will be bumping on my playlist! Listen to “What Love Can Do” here and read more below in our exclusive interview! At what age did you decide to start pursuing music? Music is something that has always been apart of me from a very young age. I can remember being in elementary school loving to sing in the choir and play in the band. I will say that at age 9 I got to sing a solo of "Oh Holy Night" at the school Christmas Program. I fell in love with the mic that night. What would be your dream collaboration? That's a very hard question. I admire so many artists. My dream collaboration would be a record featuring Lauryn Hill, Stevie Wonder and John Legend!! What’s your writing process like? My writing process is free flowing. Whenever lyrics or concepts come to mind, I usually create a voice note if I can hear the melody. Otherwise, I will write it down on paper or make a note in my phone. Once I can visually see the story that I'm trying to tell in the song, I'm able to take what may have been an outline and create the full song. How do you continue to feed your passion for music everyday? I am a consumer as well as a creator so I listen to a lot of different artists. I'm always tuned in to what's going on in the culture. I have a home studio set up that gives me the freedom to play with ideas and concepts and keeps me engaged in wanting to get better at my craft. Can you tell us more about the message you want to get across to your fans in "What Love Can Do"? "What Love Can Do" is giving my fans more of my back story and sharing what used to be a sacred place for me which was my Grandmother's room and her love. I'm asking the question but also suggesting that some of the tragedies in today's world can still be fought with Love. I think everyone can relate to having at least one person or place that made them feel safe. Love often gets a bad reputation. I hope that fans can be encouraged to believe again in Love even on the most basic level as being something that still has the power to change the world or at least change the way we interact with one another. What's next for you? I'm continuing to pursue my dreams and goals. I am currently working on a new album which I plan to release under my new music imprint, Cornerstone Drive. My mission in this next phase of my career is to create a movement of alternative soul music that is geared towards those who are suffering with mental illness. I will be looking to collaborate with artists who's music speaks to healing of the mind, heart, and soul. Check out “Figure 8” here and read more below in our exclusive interview! Hi Kendra! Can you tell us more about yourself and what inspires you to write music? Hi! Thanks so much for inviting me to interview with Buzz Music! Being an artist is really groovy! It is truly, truly magical to spend each day crafting creative projects that are in line with a higher purpose. That is how I start my day and, overall, the reason to my rhyme. I have always been a big picture, big dreamer, hit a home-run every time type of person. I believe in the power of collective effort and peaceful thinking. Some would call it idealism, but it is in that idealism that I discover my own joy for life. I am a person who actively seeks out compassion. I go where the wind blows to plant seeds of healing. In every fiber of my bones, I believe and project for a day that brings about “World Peace”. That is what inspires me, moments of shared understanding. Can you describe your stage presence and live performance? I’d love to! My stage presence is founded in 3 main vibes: Healing, Theatre, and 1960s & ‘70s Rock ’n Roll. With my singer-songwriter act, Kendra & the Bunnies, I combine music, spoken word, theatrical staging, and healing ritual to transport the audience into a mystical-surrender of now. Throughout my day to day life, I focus on keeping my thoughts precise and on track. I trim the fat away from things I have no business in sifting through. This precision of being allows me to open a shared conscious space during performance. The music I am singing becomes a soundtrack for that higher purpose I shared about earlier. Every single moment of our lives is drenched in meaning, camaraderie, and wisdom. I aim to create a space where listeners can experience this spark. My most recent music video for the track, "World Peace a Thing", really showcases all this mumbo-jumbo. Y'all can watch it on my YouTube channel! "Figure 8” is a great song! Can you tell us the meaning behind it? Thank You! “Figure 8” has a lot of meaning behind it. So much meaning, that it will take a few chapters to discuss; I am actually currently in the process of writing a novel/memoir of my life for this very reason and more. The overhead theme of this song, “Figure 8”, is a story of two lovers traveling together. The song goes between their perspectives. While one is on stage, the other is admiring and cheering them on from the backstage wings and vice-versa. “He ain’t no good boy. He just wanna tour with me. Wonder where we are? We’re in the country making memories.” It’s also a slightly dreamy and fantastical song. As you can hear on the bridge, it’s written from the state of a vision. “Maybe, he’s a good one. Maybe, I’ll never know.” It’s because the lovers in this story haven’t actually met each other yet. Let’s be honest, it’s totally about me; someday, I want to tour the country with my musical counterpart, but will I ever find him? “Maybe, I’ll never know…” There is also the essence of Woodstock and the Grateful Dead in there. So, in the last verse and refrain of “Figure 8”, I imagine a camera panning out from the lovers’ perspective over to the crowd. That is where the lyrics, “Everybody was dancing, dancing in the street”, come in. We see everybody dancing and having a real groovy time. “Figure 8” is also a reference to a ribbon microphone. Wink, wink to my fellow musicians. What challenges did you face when writing this single and how did you overcome them? During the songwriting process, “Figure 8” flowed through me. I think art, music, poetry, and acting are all perfect when presented exactly as they are poised to be. I bunker down into the energy of a piece of art and live there while interacting with it. This is me giving myself fully to the process. I let a song and poem show me where it wants to go. I stay apt to this way of thinking by practicing meditation, writing, and my instrument everyday. What makes you so passionate about music and how do you continue to feed that passion? The music brings me alive. It is in sonic reverence that I come face to face with who I am. As The Dead sing in their song “Throwing Stones”, “The kids they dance. They shake their bones.” It is through the family of the jam-band community and its accompanying scene that I find and feed this passion. It’s about the live music, baby! The beats integrate within Alex's vocals as if they were especially curated by the sound Gods. We love the contemporary aspect to Alex's track "Chemical Kids", as he definitely captures a type of sound we wish we heard more often in Alternative music. Check out "Chemical Kids" here, and keep reading for Alex Kautz interview with BuzzMusic! Welcome back to the BuzzMusic community! Tell us more about you and how you developed as an artist! Hi & Thank you! I'm 24 years old from Dallas, Texas. I've been singing & writing songs my whole life. Finally, I am releasing the fully-functioning EP of my dreams! What was the integral message within your latest track "Chemical Kids"? Chemical Kids is kind of like my own personal anthem. It's about letting go, finding yourself, and always working hard to reach your dreams. Also, drugs. When we first gave a listen to "Chemical Kids", we were completely drawn to the eclectic sound of your music. What kind of atmosphere do you try to develop for your listeners when curating music? I'm so proud of this single because it's a project that my producer, Christopher Lynn Shelton, & I had a lot of fun with. With Chemical Kids, we aimed to create an atmosphere that felt brand new, but familiar at the same time. I'm inspired by Amy Winehouse, Marilyn Manson, RuPaul, Gaga, Cher... all of the classic eclectic icons. At the moment, I'm loving Billie Eilish & Kim Petras. Would you say that your music is a big reflection of your personal life and experiences? Absolutely!! I think of my music as "A New Spin on the Classic Tale". I'm a sucker for nostalgia & spend a lot of time in reflection mode. I re-create my memories, but musically... & my narrative always comes with a sick twist. What do you think you'll be up to next in the music scene? Releasing any new singles? In the final frame of Chemical Kids, I teased this French phrase, "ils se nourrissent de mauvaises habitudes" howboutdat? Keep up with Alex Kautz through his socials! www.instagram.com/alexkautzmusic www.facebook.com/alexkautzmusic #BuzzMusic
- We're Feeling Confident With Mike Nova's Recent Release "Vibes"
New R&B/hip-hop artist Mike Nova is making a huge impact within the music scene. Mike enters our music world as a relatively new artist, but creates music that is all but inexperienced. Mike Nova curates tracks that are elemental and present a harsh, yet calming tone. Aggressive lyrical delivery, and some seriously intriguing rhythms integrated within his music, Mike Nova releases tracks that have an obvious hype and eccentric energy. His latest track "Vibes" proves this exact element of Mike Nova. Mike Nova really knows how to captivate and entrance his listeners in "Vibes". First, we HAVE to comment on how killer the production of this track was on Juno Adonis' part. As listeners, we felt completely involved in the atmospheric vibe (no pun intended) of the track. You wouldn't be able to tell that Mike Nova is a new artist--his talent extends so far out you'd think he'd been curating music his entire life. "Vibes" contains J.Cole production elements, mixed with a more hard-hitting vocal delivery that's unique to Mike Nova. "Vibes" is doubtlessly our favorite R&B/hip-hop track of the week. Mike Nova clearly killed it again with his overall execution, and we feel only further connected with him as an artist as he continues to release more tracks. We know we're going to have to get used to being impressed with the effortless flow that pours off of Mike, and we're obsessively checking to see what he puts out next! Give a listen to "Vibes" here, and keep on reading for Mike's exclusive interview! Welcome to BuzzMusic! Let’s talk about your upbringing! Before discovering music, did you have any other hobbies for yourself? Thanks for having me again BuzzMusic , I always appreciate the opportunities. Before discovering music honestly I was always dabbling in different things from Different types of sports such as swimming, track ,basketball and even martial arts. As I got older I realized I was always musically inclined you know . All these other activities I found myself not giving a 100 percent or quitting halfway . With music it was different I could be away from it an still find myself together it with you know an the same feeling of being ecstatic would always be there. What would you say is the most integral element of your music? That’s a great question. To start off I have to have like a meaning to the song . What are you saying in this song ?? What’s the point ? It can be simple as just flexing my ability or actually story telling giving you perspective. It can be a prototype to something I’m trying ,so having an Object is number one . Lyrics is key , like that’s 100 percent my element . I need every bar to be sharp , I want to make people go ouuuu an have that stank ass face like that’s the best part of being a MC you know creating , an saying something clever that’s never heard of , but also at the same time staying relevant to what the song is about . So between my object an my lyrics , In between that everything falls in place. I would know how I want to deliver it and the type of beat I need . It will just flow to me. What verse in “Vibes” would you say is the most impactful for the meaning of the song? "I fein on To be on, To be on again I'm beyond a phenom Let's not play pretend Now she on an he on Let's all tell a friend That Nigga is hot boy now He on again" This verse right is the most impactful to me , because it gives off a sense of empowerment and Confidence. Like bro I’m dope I’m fire .. I want to better than the best , an someone hears this song they tell they friend , from a he a she an then I’m hot again cause of word of mouth.. That’s a vibe feeling like no one can F ‘wit you that’s a vibe we all have experienced. Would you say that your music is a big reflection of your personal life and experiences? I would say yes . Honestly I use to have trouble putting my emotions in song but the more I continue you to develop an go through lives hardships , the more easier it becomes to draw you know inspiration an tap into it. A lot of my music are not only my stories but of others. I want to be able to tell other people’s stories for them , it’s cool to talk about yourself because the listener can relate to you right , but what about the person who is going through way worst then you an you can’t relate to them .but some of your listeners can relate . Do it for the people not only yourself. What can we expect to see from you as an artist in the near future? As an artist you’ll see me become more multilayered. That’s currently my objective to show you I can do everything ,Not every project will be the same ,because I’m not only an artist I’m a person an we all change . My music will document my progression as an artist but also as a human. Keep up with Mike Nova through social media! www.instagram.com/_mike.nova #BuzzMusic

When we were talking about my future, he said, “You’re a Robinson,” (my family last name),” so that makes you apart of the B.T.T.B Club. Do you know what that is?” When I first heard him say that, I had absolutely no clue what that meant. So I told him no and he told me, “It’s the Bad to the Bone Club”. After I heard that, I just laughed uncontrollably. It was the perfect dad joke to be honest. And I immediately had to archive it so that I could use it on my own friends. So going off that, B.T.T.B Club is basically an anthem for people that are truly bad to the bone. Bad meaning the AAVE version of bad, which means “I’m cool” or “I’m slick”. Lyric wise, I wanted people to feel like that character I portray in my song, someone that is on top of everything. “Bitch I’m bad to the Bone, that’s my throne” I’m basically saying I’m already a king, there is no debate about it. My credentials are set. Going into the first verse I use the word “reichs” to further the idea of a kingdom or empire. Then the next lyric I say, “I’m blessed by the best you should pipe down”. This was inspired from my grandma. My family is religious, we’re Christians, and when I called my Grandma who recently had some health complications but is healing from it, she told us that she’s “blessed by the best” so she’ll be getting along just fine. When God is protecting you, “No weapon formed against you shall prosper” so it’s best that you stop making commotion about me and go about your day. I then dive in to a faster paced flow and hit the listener with something a bit more profound,”I’ma fly nigga, don’t try me nigga, 6- figures, I’ma do it bigger, generational victor”. Something that I want to do with my music and my life is to bring everyone else that's around me up with me. Victories and accomplishments are meant to be shared with others. Wealth means nothing if it’s not put towards the purpose of bettering other people's lives. So with any type of fortune I gain off of music, I want it to be put towards bettering my own people and freeing them from financial shackles. “You know I always say, when I eat, the squad’s eatin”. Who are your top musical influences? How do they inspire you? Top Top? Or just Top? It’s actually kind of funny but a lot of my influences aren’t even hip hop related. I listened to a lot of instrumental music for a long time so some producers that inspire me are: Reso, Billain, Vospi, Ivy Lab. They have taught me to keep on innovating with my music and not to settle for something that everyone else has heard of already. Billain was actually the final push I needed to start professionally pursuing music. In the rap realm, A Tribe Called Quest, Kendrick Lamar, JPEGMAFIA. The combination of those three really keep me in the right space. JPEGMAFIA inspires me to channel my energetic and chaotic side, Kendrick inspires my lyrics to stay poetic and Quest helps inspire me to talk about anything about life. Rest in Peace Phife. How would you describe your live performance? Completely electric. I want the audience to be as involved in the performance as I am so I like to go into the crowd and start rapping. Soon enough, I’m going to have people moshing to my music once I start performing my more high energy songs. I bring people up on the stage so they can rock out with me. I even get short interviews to see if they are liking the show! The people that come to the shows are the ones giving me the platform to share my music so I have to bring my all and give them an amazing experience. I’ve converted people that dont like rap into becoming a rap fan because of the energy I brought to the stage. Do you have any upcoming shows or events you’d like to talk about? Of course! I’m stationed out in Ithaca currently and I’m playing an all day festival on September 7th. Ithaca Underground is running the event and they know how to put together amazing shows. If you’re in the area, you should definitely come through so you can watch me and other amazing artists! Connect with Overflow on social media www.instagram.com/project_overflow #BuzzMusic
