Welcome to BuzzMusic! Can you start by introducing yourself to our readers? I’m E.N.T, most people call me Ted, I’m a hip-hop musician from a small town in Quebec. How did you know you wanted to start making music? I first started making beats and songs for fun but after realizing I loved  writing lyrics and the recording part of the process that’s when I knew I wanted to make this more than just a hobby. “All Night” is a dope track! What inspired it? If you’ve listened to the song, you probably realized it’s based off of a party. After a great night, came a great track. What’s the hip-hop music scene like in your hometown? Very low-key, there are not a lot of hip-hop musicians in my town that I know of and most of the music recorded here is French so I’d say I’m a pretty rare case here at home. What can we expect from your upcoming album? Any hints of a release date? I have a lot of projects coming up. Maybe between the end of the summer and December I should have a debut album up on all social platforms. When you start touring, what would be your dream venue to perform? Check out “Match My Vibe” here and read more in our exclusive interview below! Hi Geri! Welcome back to BuzzMusic, can you tell our new readers and fans how you got started in music? I have been writing and producing music for over 15 years dating back to August 2004 when I recorded my first song. I grew up in a Christian church where I sang in the choir and played the drums at an early age, so I've been around music my whole life and used it as a way to express myself. I finally made it my business earlier this year with the creation of my own musical imprint D'Fyniz Enterprises. Who are your top three musical influences? Why? I draw inspiration from a wealth of different artists. However, these three that I am about to name hold a special place in my heart. James Brown for being the ultimate entertainer and always leaving the crowd wanting something more. 2Pac for being so un-apologetically black, so poetic, so raw, and also possessing the type of compassion to uplift a forgotten class of people. Nipsey Hussle for betting on himself and putting himself in a position to not only win but inspire an entire culture while still staying true to his roots and being relentless. Can you tell us more about "Match My Vibe"? Why'd you choose to switch it up with your writing style? I've always written songs like Match My Vibe because my first love is singing. I'll eventually produce a project with more singing than rapping. I feel like I can be more experimental and expressive when I sing. That allows me to break free from culturally restrictions and truly express myself artistically. With this record, I wanted to talk more to my female audience. Even though there are plenty of women that like my more aggressive music, I wanted to come with something fun and sensual for women. When I speak to women it's never aggressive or brash. So I wanted this record to represent something I naturally do. What feeling do you hope your listeners take away from your music? I want listeners to understand that there are multiple dimensions to me. I'm not always aggressive. I'm not always sensual. However, I am always true and to the point. No matter what type of record I create I will never sugar coat my message and I respect my audience enough to always keep it thorough with them. What's next for you Geri D'Fyniz? I will be dropping part 2 of my "The Black C.O.D.E" Street Album later this summer. I also have Official Music Videos coming for "Match My Vibe" & "Black Labels" Keep up with Geri D'Fyniz on social media! Off stage Allanah can be described as quiet but comes alive when she hits the stage. Her live performances can be described as energetic, engaging and personable, capturing the hearts of many fans, young and old. She is heavily influenced by many of the classic rock artists which includes Led Zeppelin, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. She released her latest single title “I’ll Be Me” where she discusses the true meaning of liberation. In this song, Allanah Jeffreys delivers the message of being who you are and not allowing others to bring you down. Knowing we live in a cruel world where judgment is often abrasive and apparent, “I’ll Be Me” is the emotional challenging song that evokes us to combat these judgmental ideas and thoughts that are constantly being presented and forced upon us. Allanah Jeffreys lets her listener know that they are beautiful, the way they are. Giving us a sense of confidence, her dynamic vocals and powerful spirit radiates across this record. “I’ll Be Me” is the perfect song to attain a sense of power and ferocity from. If you don’t feel twice as more brave then you were prior to listening? Well, we don’t know what to tell you! Listen to "I'll Be Me" here and get to know more about Allanah Jeffreys below! Hey there Allanah! Please tell our readers how you knew music was your calling? Ever since I was little I’ve had a love for music. My parents, being musicians themselves introduced me to music at a young age.  I’ve been influenced a lot by classic rock, Taylor Swift and Shania twain. My parents enrolled me in piano and vocal lessons when I was very young, and ever since then I’ve loved performing and being on stage. What are the biggest challenges you’ve encountered within the music scene so far? Any challenges affiliated with your age? Although I know many talented young musicians, it has been a challenge putting together the right players who have the same goals and vision.  I am currently working with a great group of young and talented musicians that will allow this project to move to the next level. Despite my age, I have gained support from many fans young and old which I am very thankful for. Your voice is so pure and honest! We loved listening to “I’ll Be Me”—tell us, what was your favorite part about curating this single? Everything from writing the song, to recording in the studio was very special and a lot of fun. I would probably have to say my favourite part was the actual recording process. The environment in the studio was so relaxing, and I didn’t feel scared about anything. I was in my own zone, and wasn’t afraid to let loose and feel the music. I put my all into this song as it truly speaks from my heart. There was definitely a strong lyrical presence in “I’ll Be Me”. What motivated you to write this song? We live in a world that can easily knock you down. I’ve dealt with a lot of competition in my life, and times that I have simply not felt good enough. From being brought down by others, and myself, I’ve struggled with being my true self because of being afraid of what people are gonna think of me. This song speaks about being confident in yourself, and not caring about what others think. People bring down others just to lift themselves up. Everyone is struggling just like you are in this world, and we all need to stop comparing ourselves to others and worrying about making mistakes. The day we let go of our fears, is the day we will truly find ourselves. What’s next for you? Can we expect to see any upcoming releases in the near future? Yes! I have a single that will be ready to release in about a month, and another one coming out later this summer as well. Connect with Allanah Jeffreys on social media www.nstagram.com/allanahjeffreys

Thanks for having me, and thanks for listening. I started rapping because I grew up listening to my parents play so many different genres in the house, and my older cousin was apart of a rap group at the time and I wanted to be just like him back then. Overall I’ve always been around music and l loved it. Who were some of your musical influences growing up? How did they help shape your sound? My biggest influences was Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, and Chief Keef. They helped shape my sound by giving me confidence to say what I actually want to say, and not just what I think people would want to hear. Let’s talk about your two top tracks “Savage” and “BSR”. How are they similar and how have you changed and developed as an artist in the 6 months between their releases? My two singles are similar because I started off slow on both songs but I picked up my flow and ended off with a bang, I tried my best to give my fans straight bars. After I recorded Savage I really locked in and found my sound, when that happened I went beast mode in the studio and I have so many songs I can’t wait to share with my fans. What can your fans expect next from you? More upbeat tracks like “Savage”? Or more genre bending experimental tracks like “BSR”? My fans can expect a variety of different sounds, from upbeat to low tempo, and definitely some sounds they have never heard before. Do you have any upcoming shows you’d like to mention? I’m going to throw my own show sometime in the future to promote my record label and brand, Born Star Records (BSR), and maybe have a few special guests. • We’re Feeling Absolutely At Ease With Fourth Born In His Latest Single “Last Cigarette"

The presence of Fourth Born’s sound, how it oscillates across your senses, is extremely stimulating (in a musical scene of course). We listened to Fourth Born once, and immediately fell in love with the alternative sound he’s able to produce with his vocalism. The lyrical aspect of Fourth Borns music is witty, honest and raw. What more can we ask from a musician? Fourth Born is another artist out of Ontario, Canada. A musician from the very start, Fourth Born relinquishes his emotion and vulnerability in his music, which can be easily understood and interpreted with the necessary kind of feel-good flow. His music is light-heartedness all the way, and we adore it. We also adore music that is relatable (but actually relatable). Fourth Born integrates messages throughout his music about the blunt truth of various life experiences. We need music like this, we want music like this, and thankfully we’ve received it once we gave a listen to Fourth Born. What a cool and collected vibe Fourth Born presents in his most recent single “Last Cigarette”. In terms of rhythm and tempo, we’re receiving heavy elements from the sound of Shakey Graves—definitely a twist with Fourth Borns exclusive vocalism. We’re feeling loose, relaxed and tranquil—we could seriously listen to Fourth Born’s voice all day. His music is the type that can make you feel like you are mindlessly floating on a  cloud. It’s amazing what some artists can blend together in their curation process. We feel sparked with a sense of joy throughout “Last Cigarette”. Fourth Born accentuates his music with how much soul he can really bring to what he’s singing about. We both seek and appreciate artists capable of bringing true soul to their music, and so we respect Fourth Born’s music incredibly. He’s the kind of indie/soul/alternative sound you want to be listening to right now. He’s trendy with the kind of wave the predominant indie/alternative music scene is wanting and needing right now. We cherished the craft Fourth Bornbrought to “Last Cigarette” and we know our BuzzMusic readers will too. Relax with us and listen to Fourth Born's “Last Cigarette” here. Continue reading for his personalized interview. Hey Fourth Born! Please give our readers a sense of who you are as an artist! My name is James Stephens and the name "Fourth Born" is derived from the fact that I am the Fourth Born in my family. The youngest of four. As an artist I would say I'm very experimental. I love to write often and in different genres and styles. Typically my songs are themed around more of a dark, contrasted feel which I typically deliver using figurative language. For my upcoming album titled: "Hurricane James" - A few notable influences would be: Alabama Shakes, The Strokes, White Stripes, David Bowie, Shakey Graves, Broken Social Scene etc. What lyrics in “Last Cigarette” would you say is the most impactful for the true meaning of the song? Why do you feel these lyrics are the most impactful? I would say the most impactful lyrics in my opinion would be the opening lines. "Talkin' off my ear, I want you the best. Talk away them fears I want them to rest Give me up like your last cigarette, stuck in your teeth" Personally, these lyrics resonate with me because they encapsulate the feelings of being toiled and drawn as a result of an unhealthy relationship. The contrast between wanting someone to be happy, but also wanting to escape is portrayed here. The last line then concludes that one person is smoking the cigarette, and the other person is the cigarette and is therefore being completely consumed by the other - metaphorically speaking. While curating “Last Cigarette”, did you come across any creative blocks? If you ever come across creative blocks with creating your sound, how do you typically surpass them? The song "Last Cigarette" was actually started a couple years back. The first two verses just flowed out, and I sat down with the third verse about a year ago. So it was on the back burner for a while. I like to write as much as I can, so often time's I will record a concept on my phone, and then leave it for when the time feels right. I think my main creative block for most of my songs, is my desire to learn about audio engineering enough to produce them independently. It has taken me a few years to be able to Produce/Audio Engineer my songs to how I generally want them to be portrayed. The balancing act of keeping up with promotions, independently producing/writing music, playing gigs, and working other jobs is real. The best way for me to surpass creative blocks, in my opinion, is to just be patient and consistent. Even if I'm just writing one line of lyrics a day, or jamming out to something on my loop pedal for just 30 minutes a day. That's enough to keep the creativity and vision going if I'm too busy to extensively write. I also find that pushing my comfort zones helps a lot with getting myself outside of the box. Knowing your music is heavily reflected on your personal life experiences, what are some challenges you may face in writing a song? Some of the challenges I face when writing a song based off of personal experiences is probably obscurity. As an artist I tend to gravitate more toward abstract lyric concepts. I think, in general, I find it a little harder to communicate on an emotional level in a literal way. This can make my writing a little harder to relate to sometimes. I think I consciously try to create abstract concepts for most things I feel. I recently watched that new Black Mirror episode with Miley Cyrus starring in it. The episode is about a pop star who is trying to escape the monogamy of writing pop songs for a younger audience. Anyways, her manager finds some of her personal lyric notes, and flies off the handle complaining that no one is gonna care about some obscure bulls^%$ that Leonard Cohen would write and maybe 20 people would relate to. I thought that was hilarious, but it also hit me pretty deep lol. But realistically Leonard Cohen is amazing and I'd say this quote by him sums up exactly how I feel about that perception. "People used to say my music was too difficult or too obscure, and I never set out to be difficult or obscure. I just set out to write what I felt as honestly as I could, and I am delighted when other people feel a part of themselves in the music."  - Leonard Cohen Do you have any upcoming performances you can let the BuzzMusic community know about? This summer I am working for an organization aimed at aiding young emerging artist's to further develop their music careers.  (Ontario Musicians Cooperative Inc.) I am a program coordinator for that so I am primarily working on my event managing skills for this summer. (and planning on busking a lot) However, I will be playing the Collingwood Port Festival from 12:00-12:30 PM this weekend, Saturday June 29th. And at the Horseshoe Tavern on the same day from 9-12:00 AM with Shawn Steinhart. I will also be playing a couple gigs on Saturday July 6th. - 1:00 - 4:00 PM at Northwinds in the Blue Mountains, and - 7:00 - 10:00 PM at Fire and Ice in Markdale. Welcome to Buzzmusic Dvniel! Knowing you’ve traveled across many states in your lifetime, which has had the most impact for you and your music and why? Thank you so much! Wow. I don't even know to begin. My Mom always used to say, a new city and a new culture always bring with it new colors, new smells, new energies that can only help you to create new Art. My parents are originally from the Philadelphia area and I spent a lot of formative years in New Hope, Pennsylvania, a lush, historic and very beautiful rural suburb of Philadephia. It was mainly a hippy community and I attended two different high schools there. Folks like Leon Redbone, and even Art Garfunkle lived down the street from us and it was also the place where I was in my first band called Daybreak. We were mainly playing Cream and Eric Clapton covers. It was also a time when my Dad, my biggest musical I have still to this day, started a tradition of playing music together in our living room. Him on harmonica (he's a beast) and me on guitar while my mom cooked dinner. We also lived in Sewanee, Tennessee. My Dad was attending a Seminary there to become an Episcopal Priest and it was a big culture shock for a bunch of Italian American Northerners trying to assimilate into Southern culture. I learned a lot about Country Music at a young age and realized how much of it's story telling comes from R&B and Soul and that the genres aren't that different than one another. I was just beginning to write music at this time on my guitar and the singing part just kinda naturally came out while I was strumming. My family has always been my biggest inspiration musically for me. My Dad always taught me to keep an incredibly open mind with regards to creating and really taught me to appreciate the greats like, Steve Winwood, Bonnie Raitt, Paul Simon, Otis Redding, Charlie Musselwhite, Toots Thielemans, Stevie Ray Vaughan and many many more. Each place we moved from and to my Dad made it a point to play music every chance we had. How would you describe your songwriting approach? You’ve written many tracks for many hitmakers so we had to ask! The process and approach are different from each Artist, Writer or Producer I work with. The Artist may be young and have their Mom there, their manager may be in the room, or they may not show up and you have to come up with the whole song yourself haha. Sometimes you have to be the driver in the room. The first idea maker that can help kickstart the song, whether that be a title, a melody, or a progression. Other times you have to assume the role from the backseat which can help steer the energy in the room. That's what it is at the end of the day. There's an energy in a writing room before the first note or lyric is uttered and you have to read that before you open your mouth. There's also a goal in mind that when you get together at the end of the session you want to leave with a finished song, vocals recorded, fully produced, etc and sometimes that happens; sometimes it doesn't, and that's ok, too. It also depends on who you're writing for and with. If you're writing with the Artist in the room and they're not the strongest writer you always want to make them feel safe and part of the process. I've been doing this since I was very young and have both sides of the bed. It can be very intimidating as a young Artist on a label to "go in the studio and write us a smash." Sometimes the Artist doesn't have an idea for a song, and that's ok. It's about earning their trust and becoming a friendly sounding board in the room so they feel like they can open up to you. After all, music is therapy and the best songs have always come from a place of vulnerability and honesty. Other times I will work with Producers for a specific project, like writing for a television sync or film and those songs tend to be a little broader lyrically and in any case I'm always always always am referencing existing songs to see if our sentiment has either been shared before or if it helps inspire us to move in another direction. Being flexible in the writing room is imperative. Being open to an idea that someone shouts out, even though secretly you might hate it, is always good. You never know where it may take you. Let’s discuss this release “Lie To Me”. The lyrics details the theme of a failed relationship, in what ways were you able to relate to the lyricism? Let's be honest, everything comes from some experience haha. I just recently got married and my wife is my world. There are times that I envisioned not being with her and/or not being deserving of her. We've all felt "not good enough" at times and especially when we fuck up. And I sure have had my fair share of fuck-ups in my life haha. The song is also meant to be visual and I wanted it to start out as a love song and then turn suddenly lyrically. The phrase "Lie To Me" came out in the room with Max pretty immediately. Once I sang that line, we both sat down and went, hmmm, how can we spin this. We didn't wanna just write a love song like "I hate you for lying to me" or "You always lie to me" or "Look me in the eyes and tell me the truth!" we thought coming from this place of vulnerability is such a real thing. It's also when you wished the person loved you back the way you love them, and maybe just hearing the words, even if they don't mean them, can provide some solace and comfort even for a brief moment. What about “Lie To Me” do you think best represents your artistry Dvniel? This is the most ME any of my releases. At the song's core, it's passionate and yet simple. I strive to make music that feels timeless and with melodies that are simple in their execution but filled with passion. I feel every word I sing cause I've lived every word I wrote. It's also a blend of genres which best represents me as an Artist. It's a little pop, a little R&B, and a little storytelling. How do you plan on elevating the next song from a seemingly perfect hit like this? Very kind of you, thank you. I just released this song yesterday so I'm going to be promoting this one for a little while in hopes of landing it on some great playlists. Im also collaborating with DJ's to do remixes of "Lie To Me." My plan for my Artist project is to continue to collaborate with DJ's and Producers writing and singing the songs and having them release them featuring my vocals and writing. I'm also creating acoustic versions of my songs as well as remixing songs like "Lie To Me" for alternative version releases. Doing this all independently allows me to release what I want and promote it how I want, and we have every tool at our fingertips now. We are still in a singles market and releasing one song at a time gives us the power to really promote it with awesome News and Media outlets like BuzzMusic. We are also in a time musically where people are now binge listening to music on platforms like Spotify and Apple which gives us a chance to really connect to an audience. I'm really honored to have had the platform and chance to discuss all this with you, so thank you for the opportunity! Connect with Dvniel on social media www.instagram.com/dvnielmusic

  • Caleb Hearn And Pardueski Is Here With A Clubbing Hit, “Air”

Caleb Hearn is a rapper & singer who began writing and producing music at a very young age. Teaming up with fellow rapper “Pardueski”, the ball got rolling for this young artist. Both of them put their first album out in 2016 on Soundcloud called “Red In My Veins”. CMH having great success with the joint project had us interested in hearing one of their songs, so we took a listen to “Air” and this is a BANGER. The vibe of the song is most definitely fit for clubbing and summer parties. It’s fun, outgoing, charismatic, and it’s a track that the youth can get jiggy with. The hook is catchy, “Put your hands in the air” while singing in an addictive and detailed autotune. What I loved the most was the different deliveries both rappers brought us, yet still maintaining a good bounce between the different flow’s. The lyricism was on point, and the arrangement of “Air” was killer! This is a song that instantly gets you in the “Turn up” feel the moment it plays. It’s a song to get ready for a night out, a song to drive to, and a song to party too! “Air” is ready to provide us our summer catch hit! Listen to "Air" here and get to know more about Caleb Hearn below! Thank you for sharing your music with us Caleb! What about your artistry do you feel differentiates you from other artists in the same style of music? I have been writing and recording music since I was 12 years old and I think what differentiates myself from other artists in the same style is my writing style and where I get my inspiration from. I’ve put out songs like “air” with a dance along to type of beat but I’ve also put out songs about losing someone and how it may impact a community. There are many things I get inspiration from, and I feel that by me switching it up all the time, it eliminates people in the industry from putting me in a box. What was your vision for “Air”? We loved the clubbing feel to the song! Exactly that. I immediately after writing the song, could already see people’s hands up in the club, getting down to the beat of the song. Before we go and take a listen to the entire album of “Red In My Veins”, what can we expect? It’s one of my first albums I ever produced, with one of my friends, but I would encourage you to stay on Spotify and go listen to “Headspace” my first ever album I put out myself. It has so many different outlooks and writing styles. Who are some of your inspirations? In what ways have they inspired you? Doubt has always been my biggest motivator. When I hear criticism or doubt from someone I love to immediately go work in the studio, I don’t know where that drive came from but it’s been there from the start. What’s next for you Caleb Hearn? I’m starting up my own record label at the moment, we have guys working alongside to make it something bigger than we even imagined, but for me, I just want to keep putting out music for the world to hear. P.S If you are referring anyone to more of my music, please refer them to the album “headspace” it is also on iTunes and Spotify Connect with Caleb Hearn on social media www.instagram.com/calebhearn www.twitter.com/CalebHearn4
