  • Akeria Shows Us That She Is The Next Raptress In The Game!

Straight out of Raleigh, North Carolina is the unique voice combined with refreshing lyricism to deliver a new coming face into the hip-hop game! Her name? Akeria, and we hope you can get comfortable hearing that name because I’m sure we will hear more from her!  Akeria released her single titled “Phase Me” on all platforms, and we checked it out on her YouTube and was thoroughly impressed with the star quality we saw! Starting from the vocals, Akeria has this light sensual quality alongside a lot of sass to complete it! She could deliver her melodic hook in a feisty manner while projecting a flow that emphasized on the diva nature of her persona! If you watched the music video released to “Phase Me” you will see how Akeria showcased her charisma and personality throughout the entire visual. With a summer type vibe supported by poolside outfits and scenes of her wearing swimwear, we were able to adjust the idea of “Phase Me” being a digestible and festive hit. Akeria is the epitome of a rising star who can create major waves in the game with her versatile and dynamic energy. Check out Akeria's "Phase Me" on Spotify and scroll below for the artists exclusive interview with BuzzMusic! Hi Akeria! It's great to chat with you. Can you tell us a little bit about your upbringing? I grew up an only child. This left so much room for imagination and from a very young age I was writing short stories, poems, and songs. While I’m from Raleigh, I also spent a good portion of my childhood growing up in Johnston County(JoCo). I never felt that i truly fit in with either scene. In the city(Raleigh), my peers considered me an “Oreo.” In the country(JoCo), I was the “token black girl” amidst a majority white community. These two opposing experiences definitely play a part in the artist that I am today. My hope is that by relating to my music, people can relate to one another and realize they aren’t so different after all. When you started writing “Phase Me” what was the vision you had for the song? What's the meaning behind it to you? Phase me was literally a vent session in the form of music for me. I wanted to say all that I could in one place to any one that ever doubted me or went out their way to try and make me feel less than or unworthy. Favorite lyric line in the song? Why? Favorite line would have to be, “Gotchu fishin, now you gutted - that’s the hook in me.” The same folks that try to put you down can’t help themselves & always come back around to see what’s going on in your life- with me, it’ll always be better than expected which is the LAST thing a hater wants to see! Do you have any influences on your style? If so who and why? I will say that I was influenced by Eve and Lauryn Hill . I love their story telling capabilities and the fact that they can make great music without having to be overly sexual with their words or their image. What's next for you through 2019? The rest of 2019 for me will be about getting in the booth and creating more content and continuing to hone my craft. • DaCav Stands Up For What They Believe With New Song "Let's Take A Walk"

DaCav is a band who consists of three members, two rappers Mikey P and B Roc and singer Sydney. DaCav loves making music in which you can vibe and dance too alongside connecting emotionally. They are an independent group based out of the US and each member lives in a different state! If you’re wondering how this group formed, well we have the background information on deck! Mikey P and B Roc found Sydney on Instagram and after having her as a feature, asked her to be a member of DaCav. DaCav released their latest single titled “Let’s Take A Walk” which is an heart-rendering record that discusses their personal real-life experiences with bullying and how they can unite against the grain to fight it! DaCav released a inspirational video for “Let’s Take A Walk” that will captivate you and help understand the message rooted in the song! In the video directed by Sydney in her hometown in Richmond, Maine.. Mikey P and B Roc are seen delivering their personal story with their distinctive voices from one another, which leaves a powerful and lasting effect. The first verse begins it has a passionate and aggressive delivery that reminds us of the rap icon, Eminem. After telling his story that many people can relate too. The hook then transitions in with the vocals from Sydney. Sydney sings a heart-warming and honest verse about the support and friendship they are offering for their listeners and fans. “If you need to talk, you can take my hand, let’s go take a walk.” What we interpreted from this that she’s basically saying, if you need somebody to be there, you can always turn to the lending hand to serve as an emotional support system for you! As the song progresses he begins to spit his truth and disclose the dark reality behind what goes on in many kids, teens and adults minds. The thoughts of suicide, hopelessness and depression is projected through these lyrics which gives another dimension of vulnerability to the song. What we enjoyed most by watching this video was how the production of the entire visual looked similar to a movie rather than music video. Beginning with a “Based On A True Story” it shows many cut scenes of kids being bullied on their way to, at and from school. Using many actors to help act out their vision. DaCav will undeniably touch many people with this incredible song about a topic so widely discussed yet the action to put an end to it is so little. Listen to "Let's Take A Walk" here and be sure to watch their emotional music video below. Hi DaCav! Can you introduce yourselves to our readers? Hey we are DaCav! We consist of Sydney our vocalist and Mikey P and B Roc our two rappers. We are a pop/hip hop fusion group based out of New Jersey, Maine and Nevada. We are an independent group. We love making music you can move your body to as well as connect with emotionally. “Let’s Take A Walk” is a beautiful song with hard-hitting lyrics within. What prompted you to create this song? Thank you for your kind words about "Let's Take A Walk". We were inspired to make a song about such an important subject because it is so relevant and something many people can relate to. In fact, B Roc in our group was bullied very badly as a child. He was even physically hurt. Sydney was not physically hurt but was belittled and isolated in middle and high school. It's real, every day and everywhere. As artists, it's our responsibility to use whatever platform we have to raise awareness on what is right and important to us. Even if we can only get the message across to one person that bullying is wrong, and we can stand up to it by being compassionate, then we've done our jobs. The music video was very well put together. How were you able to create this visual and did you do the casting of the actors involved? Thank you. The video was amazing to make. We did the performance scenes in Las Vegas and the story was shot at Richmond High School in Maine, in Sydney's home town. Sydney directed the story sections of the video! As for casting, Sydney went to her old middle/high school where her younger brother currently attends and asked the school to be involved. People gladly jumped on board to help. Most of the children in the video were her little brothers friends! Knowing you three are from different States, how do you guys manage to come together as one and create music!? Do you face any challenges? Being in 3 different states is definitely hard, but with the help of technology we're always connected. That's how the group actually came together, B Roc and Mikey, the original members of DaCav found Sydney on Instagram! If we need to record a song and we're not physically together, we just work at separate studios and send our pieces to each other. As for performances, as long as we know the date and time, we make sure we're all there. What do you think differentiates you from each other the most, artistic wise? What makes DaCav so great is we're all so different and can bring different things to the table. B Roc is a super talented videographer that can capture the most action packed to the most intimate moment, Mikey can work any crowd, and Sydney writes and sings from her soul. Think of us like ordering a pizza with 3 different toppings that add to each other. Delicious. What's next for DaCav throughout 2019? You can expect a few things in 2019! You can expect another album and more music videos! You can also expect a solo album from Sydney! And you can of course expect LIVE PERFORMANCES! Make sure you follow us to stay up to date on all of our exciting happenings! (@Dacav @sydney_thesinger @briandacav @iammikeyp) Thank you so much, with love, DaCav. • Gotaflika Brings Light Out Of Unsettling Situations With His Single “Another Day Another Dollar”

Many artists who have captivating personal life experiences in which serves as an impactful and influential aspect in their reason to pursue music. For incredible artist Gotaflika (pronounced as goat-uh-flick-uh) it was when his mother decided to leave him and his siblings in Africa for educational purposes that would serve as beneficial for her family. She made the incredible journey that took an immense amount of faith and courage. Gotaflika began a journey as organic as it possibly could be. Gotaflika, which literally means 'Go-To-Africa', received invitations to perform that soon helped increase his small fan base he was building in the foundation of his homeland. If you’re wondering where the inspiration for the name came from, Gotaflika chose his stage name because it represents a migrant African. Gotaflika himself represents thousands upon thousands of stories of hardship and the journey for something more. Gotaflika is a symbol of hope. Gotaflika released the single titled “Another Day Another Dollar” alongside a music video visual to match. The dance hall pop reggaeton tune is perfect to add to our playlists for simple cruising around town or if you just need a little mood boost. It instantly uplifts your spirits into something more positive and that’s the most special quality Gotaflika has on his artistry is his ability to touch people and make them feel something. If you watched the video of “Another Day Another Dollar”, Gotaflika presents himself as an authentic regular person just like the rest of us while using witty imagination and creative transitional spaces between traveling into the future and the constant fight between innovation and reality. In The beginning of the video of “Another Day Another Dollar” it shows Gotaflika sleeping under riches of money before his phone rings, essentially waking him from his dream-like escape and transitioning him into reality. However, the joyful tune helps deliver that uplifting story through the visual because Gotaflika makes the best of his average day most us can relate to. I love the radiating positivity the music and video gives, and we can no doubt say Gotaflika could be the reason Reggaeton should be thrown in the spotlight more often as a mainstream sound. Listen to "Another Day Another Dollar" below and get to know more about Gotaflika below! How would you personally describe the music scene in Africa for those unfamiliar with it? In Africa, we listen to all genres of music, but Reggae and Dancehall are the top genres for sure. Sometime ago we did believe that the only way to break into an international scene was to be a reggae artist, but today it has changed a lot. The world has now accepted African music that has given birth to Afropop which has put people into the international music scene and are getting noticed at a global level. This is good enough to encourage you to believe that your talents also can grab the global audience. African music is one of the most complicated sounds that one will ever come across because it's ethnically and even tribal based in it's roots and it has existed for many generations. Each tribe has their own rhythm and that's what makes African music so unique and complicated. With the introduction of other genres, the African sounds have evolved into two major genres which are Afropop and Reggae . There are thousands of other sounds within the continent depending which region you are in. Tell us a little bit about “Another Day”, what was the inspiration behind writing this? Another Day Another Dollar is a song I wrote because of my understanding of universal needs. My family moved to the USA to have a better life by earning more money ("dollars"). But, as I traveled around the globe, I have realized that we all have one thing in common--the desire to get more money and have a better life. People sold their houses, cars, land, etc. so that they could come to America. The funny thing is that even the Americans themselves are struggling to earn dollars day- in day-out. When creating the video to “Another Day” what was the vision you were aiming to execute with this? I wanted fans and the audience to see that even though we are struggling from sunrise to sunset, we still have to keep doing so joyfully! Keeping your head up and spreading joy in whatever season you're in is good for the soul and it's contagious to others! In your own opinion, how would you describe the genre of Reggaeton pop? Reggaeton pop is a genre on the rise which can come from anywhere in the world, but you have got to be in love with Pop, R&B, and Reggae music because they are the fusion that make Reggaeton what it is. Have you ever performed in a venue outside your hometown? Yes, 99% of my shows are done outside my hometown. :) What's next for you through 2019? 2019 is the year of doing more collaborations with other artists, finishing my new full length album that will be released at the end of 2019, and preparing to tour at the end of the year and into 2020! • "Fade Away" With Truth Gordon's Latest

Truth Gordon is an artist who mesmerizes you with his single “Fade Away”. Truth Gordon isn’t new to impressing a crowd as he opened up for big naming artists such as BIG Krit and T-Pain and he has an upcoming feature from Moon Taxi. With a sound described as soulfully blended with acoustic guitars and and indie aesthetics, many labels have compared Truth Gordon to iconic rappers including J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, and BIG Krit. However, he still keeps his own style in tact and it’s noticeable in “Fade Away”. “Fade Away” showcases Truth’s raspy and gritty vocal resonance while he delivers a fire, breathe controlled flow in which is powerful yet lyrically witty and dynamically impressive. He finds balance in the dynamics of “Fade Away” with keeping it subtle and progressing yet projecting passion and aggression in the delivery. Truth Gordon embodies the essence of a rapper in our opinion due to his abilities being represented at a high caliber! His lyrical content was hard-hitting while he still managed to be entertaining with the many different punchlines. While listening to “Fade Away” it’s no doubt in your mind that you know this is almost natural to him. He isn’t forcing a sound on him, nor is he trying to escalate his verses. He’s just a natural, raw, uncut talent who we see elevating to great measures in the year of 2019! How did it feel knowing that Big Krit and T-Pain wanted you to open up for them!? Was that the first major milestone in your career? I was ecstatic when I first learned of being on BOTH of those shows! They both have always been regarded as 2 of the best that do what they do, yet they’re highly underrated. Although it wasn’t my first major milestone, the KRIT opening was major because of the chemistry. Dolla Black was on that show as well, and us all being Mississippi natives, it was an understood chemistry and way to go about the show. Knowing you’ve been compared to the likes of Kendrick and J.Cole, do they serve as a musical influence for you? If not, who are some of your inspirations!? Although I’m inspired by those guys, oddly, my biggest influence comes from Quincy Jones. The cadences and styles I use while rapping are just applied to deliver the feel that demanded for the songs. Those guys are both nice AF though! SURELY wouldn’t mind a feature. What is “Fade Away” about? "Fade Away" is about the betrayal of the closest peers due to the love of women, money and fame; however, the metaphor of "fade away" comes from the best of balling and still scoring due to skill and knowledge of the game. Also, it highlights the doubts and expectation of failure from others but fading away insures you scoring at all costs. Can you tell us a bit about the creation process for "Fade Away"? Prime and I were both in the studio STS (shooting the shit) and he was like “Big bruh, I KNOW I have one that you’re gonna want but you can’t get it fam. I’m shooting it to a couple of industry folks.” As soon as he hit play, I was like “THAT MF MINES!!!” and as apart of all of my creating process, I began free-styling whatever came natural. Went home, lived with it for a day, recorded the song the next day and just sit on it. Afterwards, I let him hear it and there it was. A hit. What’s your personal favorite song off your album “Volume 2: High Tide” ? My personal fave on High Tide HAS to be “FACTS”. It’s nostalgic of getting girls during my younger years before social media. It came out exactly how I heard it in my head. The whole project was produced in house by either me or Prime, so every track has a pocket presence. Honestly, I say that, but Hell, tomorrow’s fave will be different! I love the entire project because of the storyline. What can we expect from you through 2019? 2019 is a year of another release and a deadlocked focus on bettering the Truth Gordon brand! There will actually probably be 2 releases if I can get the flow of traffic the way I like and continue to buzz! (No pun intended) How about this, if you guys can get a fan poll after we get this to the public, I’ll surely do a double release! Word is bond! Listen to Bianca Ingram's new single "Yes" here and be sure to check out our exclusive interview below to learn more about Bianca and her new fresh hit "Yes". Hey Bianca! It's great to chat with you! Can you tell us a bit about yourself! Hi Buzz! I'm a singer/songwriter/dancer/actor/director/designer from New Jersey, South Jersey to be exact! I love carbs although I probably should chill on them. In my spare time you can catch me and my dog Roxy looking for new undiscovered places in nature to explore and play in. And I know you won’t believe me because no one ever does but I’m really shy. I’m a complex person who overthinks most things but I think these different facets of myself allow me to make original art. I have no desire to be like anyone else, I just want to be the best Bianca I can be. Since you were born into a musically inclined household and family, have you ever thought twice if music was your personal destiny? Being born into a musical family only emboldened my drive to be successful in the music industry because I saw with my own eyes, up close that it was possible. I was able to get on professional stages at 4 years old and start working on my craft, and I had a behind the scenes look at how the business actually works which was such a huge blessing. As a kid when grown ups would ask me, “What do you want to be when you grow up?”, they’d often follow up with questions like what my plan b would be or what if I don’t make it after my answer was singer. For other children that kind of response might give them doubt or pause but I always thought the adults were stupid because I saw all the different ways to make plan A work and I believe with hard work and persistence anything is possible. I was lucky to know exactly what my destiny was at a very young age Tell us a little bit about what inspired you to write “Yes”! “Yes” is actually the first record I’ve ever put out that I haven’t written. A great group by the name of Jutaun wrote it and Jamie Evans of the group produced it. I have a very unique sound so I’m super selective with songs that I use that I haven’t written but “Yes” really resonated with me sonically and lyrically because I know all too well the necessity of reassuring people you love and care for of your feelings for them. Being in the career field that I’m in, I’m often gone or very busy and sometimes they might wonder if I miss them and the answer is “Yes” ! Although I didn’t write this song I did co-direct the video for it. Conceptualizing the video with my mom and my brother, Kyle Ingram, was so much fun we always come up with the best video ideas together. And co-directing the video with Kyle is always dope because he really understands my vision and helps me execute EXACTLY what’s in my mind. So shout out to FI Media, his media company, for delivering an amazing video! If you could describe “Yes” in 3 adjectives what would you describe it and why? Romantic, Wise, Real. I chose romantic because it’s a song about love, I could honestly see people playing this song at their weddings singing “the answer is yes” with all their heart! I chose wise because the lyrics demonstrate patience. Sometimes you might have to reassure the person you love over and over which can be frustrating sometimes but love is patient and love is kind and moving through obstacles in relationships with that in mind is very wise to maintain a healthy love. I say real because at some point I think everyone experiences a situation like this, it’s very relatable and real. How influential is your outside environments and personal life experiences for your music? I only make music that is real to me. It’s super important to me to be as authentic as possible, so I write and sing what I know and feel which is based off of my personal experiences. I get asked “Who is Bianca?” all the time because my social media name is whoisbianca, and I always say if you want to know me you only need to listen to my music and watch my videos. Music is my platform to spread love and awareness and inspire people and hopefully help the world be a better place. What's next for you through 2019!? 2019 I’m going to be bringing the heat!!! More dope music and amazing visuals, more shows (bigger and better then ever before), new 100B+ merch (I’m working on new designs as we speak), and a few surprises I can’t reveal yet so you’ll have to follow me on social media to see what those are!! I’m REALLY excited for all the things I’ve got planned for this year, my team and I are taking everything up a notch. So stay locked in because I promise you won’t want to miss a thing! • Conscious Tone Has Many Questions For You

Conscious Tone is a hip-hop artist based out of Denver, Colorado. His music is influenced by the various life experiences he’s dealt with and musical inspirations. He channels those experiences into hard-hitting lyrics. Such lyricism was presented to us in his release of “Questions”. The lyrical content in “Questions” was highly captivating and emotionally heart-rendering. Listening to this song you were able to connect with Conscious Tone on a deeper level than the music. He creates chemistry between himself and the listeners, allowing us in on his personal thoughts and feelings as if the music was his personal diary. You see more to Conscious Tone underneath his wavy image and artistic brand. Listening to "Questions" emphasized the authenticity in Conscious Tone. If you’re able to relate to the substantial lyrics and melodic hook then you will find this song to be mesmerizing more than it could be to the regular listener. “My work is a mixture of stories and life experiences that have changed and progressed my view of the world. I've spent significant time trying to figure things out and my music reflects the highs and lows of my journey." I took some time to listen to Conscious Tone other releases like “In My Bones” and I was intrigued and compelled by his story-telling skills. Utilizing his Mo-town roots and his admiration for storytelling through hip-hop, he has developed a unique sound of his own. With slick delivery, refreshing word flow and an honest portrayal of life experiences, his cadence follows the emotions of his stories. His socially influenced context is delivered with the style of current hip hop artists including Grieves, Chris Webby, Mac Miller and G-Eazy to name a few. Conscious Tone is the next generation of hip-hop, and we’re excited to see his story continue to develop! Listen to "Questions" below and get to know more about Conscious Tone in our interview below! What inspired you to create the stage name “Conscious Tone”? The name Conscious Tone sort of happened over a summer in 2011. When the name first came about, I was coming out of a pretty rough patch, I was trying to create a name that fit me as an artist and wasn’t just a gimmick. I’d had a bunch of people I knew calling me Young Tone and that’s kind of where it stemmed from. I woke up one morning and it sort of just hit me, I had been writing some very conscious and lyrical songs and I thought “that’s it, Conscious Tone”. I’m aware, I’m ready and I’m here to make it happen, and that’s pretty much where it came from. I went back and forth and for a little while I went by just Conscious but went all in onConscious Tone around 2012 and the rest is history. Your music is beautiful! Have you ever found yourself struggling to open up about certain life experiences in your lyrics? Yes, that definitely does happen from time to time. Just as writers block can get in the way of creating, putting certain life experiences in my music has its ups and downs as well. Sometimes it’s hard to find the right way to express that experience lyrically or find the right vibe to match the feeling I had in that moment in time. I feel that as I’ve grown as an artist my ability to open up more has grown as well though. I’ve always tried to create a feeling within my music, something that people can relate with and that can be hard at times. However, I’m in a position now where I can shed light on things and be a voice for those that may not have one so I thrive to create something real every time, even outside my comfort zone. It may be difficult to open up about struggles or experiences but it comes with the territory, so for me it’s all about getting past those roadblocks and finding a place where I can be genuine in my music and give one hundred percent. The authentic nature of your artistry is compelling! How do you find balance in being true to yourself but fitting to the trends of today’s hip-hop culture!? Honestly, I’m still finding that balance. I understand this culture moves fast so it’s important for me to do my research and to present something catchy in its own right. I always want to stay true to myself and my way of creating but I do see what’s going on around me and I have to adapt. I feel like today’s hip hop culture has reached a point where lyrical and trendy have found their own balance so to speak. It’s kind of like do your own thing and make it pop but just make sure it has that appeal on a higher level. Listeners need more now a days, it’s about bringing something new to the table. So, I've made a point to keep my music fresh and real but also engaging for my listeners. The most important thing for me is to keep that authentic vibe in my catalog, to keep evolving and to keep trying new things. To me it just means making good music that people can enjoy listening to, everyone likes something so it’s about finding that something within my music. I’ve never been super flashy, just a hip-hop head that loves writing and my style kind of reflects that. I’m still finding that balance but I’ve worked hard to create music that is diverse and appealing while still blending well with today's trends in hip hop. The culture is what you make it so if I can bring something beneficial to it, I think I’m on the right track. Tell us a little bit about “Questions” and what inspired you to write this? Questions is a special song to me, and it came from a very real place. I think it sheds light on my journey over the past few years. I’ve been working towards my goals at an almost obsessive rate, still never feeling finished. A job that never seems complete in a sense and is always being challenged by doubt, loss, setbacks and just life in general. I get stuck in my head sometimes and this song is a good representation of that. I’m not afraid to say what I feel in most cases and I think that creates a much more organic connection with my listeners. This song reflects my struggles with stress and anxiety in addition to the loss of people and opportunities around me. It also represents that drive and desire to make it through to the other side, no matter what. When I was writing this song, I wanted to portray a message that even when things seem so low, you can still be better. Life is tricky, but it’s important to see the bad with the good. What can we expect next from you? Next up is a new EP titled 87’ that I’ve been working on over the past few months. It’s set to release in late May and It’s going to be an 8 track EP that really explores some new vibes and sounds for me as an artist. I’m extremely excited to release this project and I think it'll have some really solid tracks on it. In addition I’ll be working with some amazing videographers at Creative Culture to create some dope visual content for the EP as well. I'm gearing up for a busy year musically and I think this 87' EP will be a great way to start it off. • PartyONE Releases “Thorns”

Gehrig Ryan is a music producer, recording & visual artist based out of Los Angeles, CA. He decided to brand himself as an artist with going by the alias PartyONE after building a foundation for himself through his various work in film photography & visual direction. PartyONE is here to expand his artistic reach through his intricate single “Thorns”. PartyONE has one of the most memorable voices that sent chills in my spine due to how classic and travel spanning it was! If you think about all the popular vocalists back in the day such as Michael Jackson, Prince, Ralph Tresvant mixed with a modern day Robin Thicke you get the birth of the newest timeless voice, PartyONE. His smooth-sailing resonance and suave aura really carried the song “Thorns” from start to finish in a more sensual vibe. The sound is a production of chilled R&B mixed with the seductive soul element of the genre. However, it’s safe to say “Thorns” is more than an R&B record with a groovy elucidated pop beat mixed with some detailed autotune and soft trap. All these unique components helped set the impression that PartyONE embodies the true meaning of an “artist” and that is to create art! Art we can become infatuated with and would want to listen to over and over again. Listen to "Thorns" here and get to know more about PartyONE in our interview below! As a multi talented individual in areas including visual arts, producing, and recording, do you have a personal favorite? If so which and why!? I’ve always said that I want to die making films. I love creating music, but I feel that I’m generally most inspired by visual art/cinema. In many ways though, all 3 go hand in hand. When I produce a record I tend to visualize moments that fit the overall vibe, then I create a mood with sounds. To me, the music is all about feeling. I would say that recording is my least favorite aspect haha Is your music style influenced by anybody? If so who and why!? My music style is influenced by so many artists, but a few heavy influences would be Sade, Kanye West, Dr. Dre & Tame Impala. Tonality, atmosphere and BEAUTIFUL melodies are my biggest take aways from both Sade & Tame Impala. Tame essentially being a 1 man band is also a huge inspiration, hence partyONE (i.e party of one). Kanye and Dre are always changing the game, in some form or another; on the music side as well as the business. I try to implement the details that move me about these artists & make them my own. Tell us a little bit about “Thorns” and what inspired you to write it! To me, “Thorns” is the realization that perfection doesn’t exist. Accepting the bad is crucial to experiencing the good. As far as inspiration, I think just an accumulation of past experiences is what drove the writing of this song. It’s something I wanted to acknowledge. Did you find any challenges in the creation of “Thorns” ? About a week after producing the beat, I was actually in a pretty horrible wreck. I passed out while driving and crashed my car head first into a brick wall. As a result, I fractured my vertebrae in 3 places, broke a rib & tore my liver and kidney. During the few months I spent in bed recovering, I ended up writing & recording what is now “Thorns”. It really helped give me something to focus on during an otherwise gloomy time. Recording with the broken rib was definitely a challenge though! Since you’re a visual artist! Could we expect a really cool visual to go alongside the trendy hit of “Thorns” ? YES! The music video has already been shot & will be released within the next couple of weeks; co-directed by myself & Ian Hussey. Stay tuned. Hey Daniel, thanks for chatting with us! Would you mind starting us off by explaining a bit about your background and how you first got involved with music? I’ve always been musical as far I can remember. Having an older brother and other people around me that exposed to me to a lot of different types of music, I was extremely fortunate in that way. In high school I started playing guitar and started writing my own songs pretty quickly. Who would you say your biggest artistic influences are? U2, Bob Dylan, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bruce Springsteen, Coldplay, Chris Stapleton, Foo Fighters, Led Zeppelin, CCR, The Who, John Mayer, The War On Drugs Beyond having artistic influences, you say that your time on the road shapes a lot of your art. What is it about travelling that makes its way into your music? Traveling has exposed me to different ways of life and people and that’s given me a lot of inspiration as I’ve formed relationships and had experiences that have naturally found their way into my writing. What does your creative process look like? Do you write on the road a lot? Ideas often come when I’m fooling around on the guitar and then I’ll record the idea and then write the song later. Sometimes I’ll do it on the spot but I have hundreds of ideas that I fish through and then maybe I’ll write 2-3 songs in a night. I think it’s important to write consistently in some way or another but with that I’m always rehearsing getting a song to where I want it. I like to get the song flushed out and then come back to it again and critique. You have a new single called “When The Morning Comes”. Did you have a particular message behind the music in this case? “When the Morning Comes” is just about being there for someone when they need you. There’s something special about waking up with someone you really care about and that’s where this song came from. What can we hope to see from you in the near future, Daniel? I have some great shows coming up. On the 13th I’ll be playing with Dee White and this summer I’ll be playing shows in Nashville and New York. Along with that, I’ll be recording throughout the summer. Connect with Daniel Kremer on social media: Instagram

  • Release Radar: "Rambo" By Cyro Ford

Cyro Ford is a 19-year-old artist who was born and raised in South Africa. Coming from a musically inclined household, Cyro Ford always been involved in music ever since he can remember. He started rapping at the age of 12 when he got inspired by Kendrick Lamar. Cyro Ford released his new single titled “RAMBO” and it begins with a quality introduction that climaxes the immediate hook. “You can call me Rambo, I got lots of ammo.. dropping music on repeat, they can’t match my speed.” the catchy hook highlights the song aesthetic due to the symphonic sounding vocals and cohesive trap beat to match. He then delivers a grandiose flow highly-listenable to all you fans of witty lyricism and striking punchlines. By the second hearing of the hook you’re automatically drawn into the song and will find yourself subconsciously singing along. There are some songs we hear that takes a minute for us to get into and enjoy. However, “Rambo” is one of those songs that if played on the radio in a car for the first time, you instantly go “who is this?”. Cyro Ford has all the correct ingredients to be a hit maker and we were highly impressed with his textured sound. His dream? To be recognized as a creative and versatile artist who can do anything. With a unique sound yet so familiar, Cyro Ford should be on his way to the top with a song like “Rambo” under his belt! Listen to "Rambo" here and get to know Cyro Ford in our exclusive interview below! When writing “Rambo” what was your motive behind it? What’s the song about? Well, I came up with RAMBO mostly cause of the structure of the beat. I normally make a lot of music at a time and I write all my lyrics and work out my hook and verse pretty fast so I just thought of the movie character “RAMBO” that always has ammo or a weapon and he’s ready for anything, you feel me ? RAMBO is just another song where I try to show off my versatility as an artist. I wanted to show off that I can make catchy vibey music aswell as rap if I want to. Inspiration for this song came from RAMBO the movie and how the main character is like me but instead of killing people with finesse LOL, it’s me being able to put out tracks in a short space of time and always having material to write about. Ready for anything. If you could feature any current top artist of your choice on “Rambo” who would you select and why!? Lil pump , cause I know he’s gonna kill  it and do it effortlessly. He’s the biggest out right now in terms of the new wave for a reason. His music is hard and I know he’ll have fun with it too and we’ll both have people saying “you can call me Rambo, I got lotsa ammo”. LMAO! But yeah Lil Pump Definitely. What are some challenges you have faced in your music career? How did you overcome them? The biggest challenge I faced in my music career was convincing myself that I’m capable and deserving of my dreams as an artist. I had a lot of issues with anxiety and depression and doubting myself cause I’ve been doing music ever since I can remember. It’s the only thing I love doing and that I’m really good at in my opinion so staying motivated and passionate about it was an issue at first cause I doubted myself but now I’m ready to pursue this no matter what. I started challenging myself to improve my music in any way I can. And I’ve been very impressed with the results lately and Kendrick Lamar’s music made me feel like I can do this too. So yeah Kendrick’s music and pushing myself to my creative limits and exceeding them is what helped me conquer my self doubt and fear of failing cause that’s what made me anxious and stressed out. Another challenge I faced was losing a lot of friends cause of me pursuing music and my parents assuming I wanted to pursue some empty dream with no security in the future. Them thinking I’m not capable and not supporting me at all, it bothered me at first but then I realized that it’s just another obstacle. Like God asking me “you still want to keep going after this?” so i eventually didn’t let it get to me anymore and chose to stay focused. The way I see it, nothing in life is guaranteed and nothing in life is permanent. So it’s best to pursue what you love come what may cause you’ll have no regrets, doesn’t matter if it’s secure or not cause nothing really is. Why work hard for something you don’t love just because it makes you feel safer financially? When you can pursue what you love and work hard to be safe financially, emotionally and mentally. Everything requires hard work but only the hardest of workers are the ones who achieve their dreams. How would you self-describe your artistry and style? I’m a Hip hop artist and I would say my style is very Kendrick Lamar, Chris Brown and Kid Cudi Inspired, that’s a pretty weird combination but those artists influence the sound of my music is massive ways.I have a very unique structure when it comes To how I put my music together but it’s also familiar at the same time. A structure people can recognize from somewhere. Like meeting an old friend and you like what they’ve become and how they’ve carried theirselves over the years. I’m very versatile and creative and I’m all about the vibes. How my tracks will make people feel and how they’ll react to them. What's next for you through 2019? Hmmmm, in 2019 I Wanne start making a stable income from my music by June. Promote myself even more to get RAMBO out there. After that I would Wanne move to LA cause LA is where you grind and work hard and meet people with connections and have your big break. Become independent by September in terms of my needs. House and a car that I own. Then By December have a secure self made career from my music. By the end of 2019 I want my music to be what I do for a living.
