The single brought tons of bright energy, with an alluring narrative. What kind of message were you hoping to extend with "Currency"? I’m glad you felt the energy. Currency is an empowerment song. I’m the type of feminist that believes in balance. But not balanced in the sense of “don’t pay on the first date” but balance as in “I need you to be stable before you come at me”. Balance as in “I need you to bring equal if not more valuable to the table”. That’s the message I want to convey. Currency can be literal but to me, time is currency, knowledge is currency, and good energy is currency. Was there a specific mood you wanted to influence your listeners with "Currency"? I want my listeners to feel sassy, badass, hyped, and bossy. All the feelings that force you to make decisions. There definitely seems to be a recurring theme with your music, as you're consistently bringing a positive and upbeat surge of vitality with your sound. Would you say that there's a specific style you've constructed for your music that's expected to be heard now with future music amongst your listeners? I think I have definitely delved deeper into Afrobeat, especially over the last year. But, I don’t want to be boxed. I’m a singer, I’m an artist, I’ve always just wanted to be recognized as a voice. Not a genre. Where do you hope to grow and extend your sound out from here?! Are there any visions you have in mind regarding the future of your music? Honestly speaking, I hope to fall deeper in love with my voice and what comes out of it on different tracks. I spent so many years perfecting other sounds and it’s so freeing to date and marry my own voice. And as we all know, marriage is a journey and not a destination. What can we expect to see from you throughout 2020? You can expect an album and the dance around that. I’m ready to put out a concept I’ve been working on for some time. instagram.com/iamdemigrace twitter.com/iamdemigrace facebook.com/iamdemigrace

By embracing contemporary pop and R&B influences, she has created a distinctive sound that will surely resonate with listeners worldwide. Exposed to music at an early age, Hunter embarked on her musical journey under the guidance of Grammy Award-winning producer Narada Michael Walden at the tender age of 17. Under Walden's mentorship, she would make huge strides in her musical development, recording and co-writing her initial works as an artist in 2013. However, in what would quickly become a theme for her, she was eager to push her musical boundaries and further refine her craft, enrolling at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, where she crossed paths with fellow musicians and producers who would eventually become her core team. Hunter's creative vision materialized in her debut EP, “Scorpio Rising,” released in 2020, and her subsequent studio album, “Scorpio Season,” in 2021. The lead single, “November,” propelled her into the spotlight, becoming a viral sensation. Her most recent release, “Runaway,” is a glossy, alluring two-and-a-half-minute offering of pure sonic pop bliss. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Hunter Blair Ambrose! We loved “Runaway”; everything from the instrumentals to the chorus to your vocals felt so polished and captivating! We wanted to ask what it was like to make “Runaway” and how you initially felt after hearing the completed recording. Thank you so much for the kind words on RUNAWAY. The song means a lot to me as it represents a new beginning in my life and artistry. This song came from an idea I had during a session back in 2021. Knowing it could be special, I kept the lyrical ideas and melodies aside. It wasn't until 2022 that I brought it to my producer and frequent collaborator, Jason Strong, and we brought it to life together. Production and vocals were finished by the new year, and I heard it finished around February. It was such a surreal feeling to hear something that took literally years to become a completed track, be complete, and sound so breathtaking. I immediately knew that the sonics would represent a change in sound to my audience, and I was thrilled about that since I'm always trying to push myself. You mentioned you also have a music video on the way for “Runaway”! What can your fans expect to see in the video without giving too much away? There is a music video for RUNAWAY in the works. It will be directed by Andrew Morales, who shot this song's single cover and promotional shoot. We decided to set the video half in New York and half in Los Angeles to bring the story in the song to life. Since the song is partially about me leaving my home and past behind me to chase my dreams in LA and the person I could see a future with, I felt setting it in both cities was more than fitting. You mentioned that you’re originally from New York, now based in LA. What’s the difference between the two music scenes, and how have they affected your growth as an artist? Generally speaking, I feel New York and LA are polar opposites. There is a darkness, an edge, and an energy specific to New York that I'll never find anywhere else, and unless you've lived there, it's hard to know exactly what it feels like. Comparing the music scenes, I feel like New York has a much smaller community and isn't necessarily as concentrated on pop music anymore. I cut my teeth on NYC's music scene through so many different clubs and venues, and for that, I'm eternally grateful. I like performing for crowds in New York because I think you can gauge people's response to the music much more clearly, and they are very open and passionate about their opinions on it- for better or worse. In LA, the scene is enormous, and networking is vastly easier and more common here. I find that I have met significantly more creatives here in the industry on an almost daily basis as compared to in New York. That was a big part of my decision to relocate here ultimately. How would you describe your music to someone who hasn’t listened to it before? My art combines anthemic pop melodies and production with high-fashion visuals and a striking, expressive vocal style running through it all. I tend to lean toward provocateurs, and I have always been obsessed with emulating artists that have pushed the boundaries of what pop music can do on a sonic and visual level. What’s next? Can we expect to hear more new music soon, and is there anything you want to share with your fans? I have several unreleased tracks that I am currently planning single releases for throughout at least the remainder of this year. I am thrilled to share this new era with my fans and listeners. I want to thank my fans for their patience since this is my first release since my album Scorpio Season in November 2021. Thank you for sticking by me while I evolved creatively into this next phase of my career and life. Hopefully, it was worth the wait. Instagram Facebook

  • Steph Devine Promises To Remain True To Herself On The Inspiring, “Come and Go”

The New England native is back and again, showing her ability to create meaningful, relatable, and catchy music. As spring rolls around, bringing warmth and cheer to the heart of New England, a shimmering star has appeared just in time for summer. With a delicate lyrical touch and a voice that can embody and convey the purest levels of emotion, Steph Divine has emerged as a rising star. She’s created a signature sound that effortlessly channels indie pop and alternative/pop country by weaving together different stylistic threads of intricate music. What makes this even more impressive is that she does so while avoiding being chained to any specific genre, maintaining a freshness that will grab your attention. Last year, Devine hit the ground running last year, releasing four stunning singles in six months. She quickly separated herself from her peers by refusing to be orthodox and her hate of musical stagnation, boldly declaring, “I don't want to be tied down to one genre. For me, it's really about the music and telling stories through my songs”. Maybe that’s why she’s been able to connect to listeners thus far effortlessly. However, the sound and feel of Steph Devine’s songs may differ dramatically; they are nonetheless united by lyrics that speak to your heart. “Come and Go,” Devine’s latest artistic offering, continues her genre-bending yet sonically pleasing singles trend. Over spunky instrumentals that channel the essences of rock, indie, and pop, among others, Devine’s vocals are strong and defiant. Dropping lines like “And I am who I am / I’ve always been me / I’m not the kind of person who can change just ‘cuz it suits me,” Devine takes a stand for herself, finding the courage to love herself, even as she acknowledges that “Friends come and go / I’ve learned that the hard way.” In “Come and Go,” Devine has once again proved that it’s possible to make fresh, catchy music while still connecting to listeners with meaningful and empowering lyricism. With her captivating presence and a genuine desire to connect and inspire listeners personally, Steph Devine is poised to become a luminary in independent music. Whenever you’re ready, tap in and stream Devine’s new release, “Come and Go,” available now on all major streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Steph Devine! We loved “Come and Go” it was lovely to hear how you incorporated so many subtle influences and made something special! Could you take us through the creative process for this song? Thank you so much! This song had a super acoustic pop/country-pop vibe when I first wrote it. I decided to collaborate with an old friend, George Varetimos, and together we combined our very different musical styles and turned this song into something that came out cool! George comes from a super diverse background. He spent a ton of time on this song, ensuring we could effectively incorporate all this instrumentation while pushing for a fusion of pop, country, rock, and a bit of edge. I couldn’t be happier with how it all came together. How did you first get into music? Did you always know you wanted to do it, or did you decide later? Give us the Steph Devine origin story! I’ve always loved music, and I’ve been writing songs since I can remember, even before I could play any instruments! I always wanted to pursue music somehow and dreamed about releasing my music. Having the opportunity to hear the songs I wrote in my bedroom come to life in the studio has been incredible, but the songwriting is my passion at the end of the day. I love telling a story. What feature do you think is most important for a musician to have? The essential feature for a musician to have is determination. There’s no doubt that this industry is cutthroat, and musicians today face many obstacles, but never giving up and believing in your art is the most important thing. What is your favorite thing about making music, and do you have a favorite musical memory? My favorite thing about making music is expression and the ability to tell a story through a song. I feel like I’ve written a song about everything I’ve ever experienced. I also love listening to my demos and the final products after finishing songs in the studio. It’s always so crazy to see how far a song can come. What’s next for Steph Devine? Can we expect to hear more new music soon? Yes, you can expect to hear more music very soon! I’m excited about what’s to come! I’ve been working on a song at Allstep Studios with my producer Cory Paza called Storm that I couldn’t be more excited about. I also plan to release an EP and a few other surprises in the coming year. Instagram

  • Get Lost In Smilez’s Meditative Masterpiece “Mentally I’m Somewhere Else”

Meet SMILEZ, a Dallas-born, Los Angeles-based rapper known for his evocative artistry. He uses an authentic perspective to discuss abstract themes, including heartbreak, addiction, societal acceptance and rejection, and mental health. His unique sound has found resonance with millions worldwide, developing connections with listeners through shared struggles and aspirations. Having secured a place in the 2020 album 'Dummy Boy' by Tekashi 6ix9ine, releasing his 2020 hit 'Head Shoulders' and its acclaimed successor 'Sit Back & Relax,' SMILEZ has amassed a large following. SMILEZ’s latest release, "Mentally I'm Somewhere Else," shines a light on his versatility as an artist, seamlessly blending rapid-fire raps with soulful hooks. The song opens with an elegant, resonant piano which acts as a metaphor for SMILEZ’s reflective state. The lyrics add emotional depth to the track by bringing forth his internal discourse. “Life is full, but I’m by myself cus mentally I’m somewhere else.” "Mentally I'm Somewhere Else" further comes to life in the accompanying music video, conceptualized and directed by SMILEZ. The video features sequences of his childhood surrounded by his friends and family. These montages become interrupted by frames painted in grayscale, symbolizing his conflicting internal state. The somber footage gradually transitions to full color as the video concludes, leaving the audience with hope and enlightenment. SMILEZ brilliantly displays his introspective journey through refined lyricism and captivating visuals as a way of navigating the world around him. The two mediums evoke empathy and inspire self-discovery in his listeners, making "Mentally I'm Somewhere Else" a timeless composition. Tap into "Mentally I'm Somewhere Else" out everyone now. Welcome to BuzzMusic SMILEZ, and congratulations on your latest release, "Mentally I'm Somewhere Else." What's the story behind your artist moniker, SMILEZ? I dyed my hair yellow and just landed upon SMILEZ. I’ve always been a fan of artists with their vibe and the world around them. How would you describe the creative process behind your new song, "Mentally I'm Somewhere Else?" It was really easy. I sat at the piano, and that song came out fast. It was really about capturing a feeling and a vibe. The video was natural, too; it was easy to match the song. How has growing up in Dallas or living in Los Angeles influenced your music style? Growing up in Dallas turned me into a natural rebel. It’s very conservative, and by the book and as a kid, it made me want to do the exact opposite. Being weird and different in LA is accepted, so I felt like I was embraced here. How has your music evolved since your first song release? It’s completely evolved. At first, I was releasing hip-hop tracks that were made almost to get a reaction out of people. Now, I don’t care what people think of my music; it’s more of wanting to make something that I see as great or special. It’s more important to me to make something that accurately portrays myself, whereas before, I didn’t really care -I just wanted to have fun and do stupid shit. What is the most rewarding aspect of creating music? I think finishing a project or a video is the most rewarding feeling, creating something and looking at it and saying, “Yeah, I made that; I put my all into that.” It’s a great feeling; there’s nothing like it. What can we expect to see next from you? I want to put out as much music as possible, so hopefully, you’ll see me drop more projects, songs, and videos this year. Instagram Facebook

  • Annie Omalley Strikes Gold With Her Latest Single “Told Yew So”

Annie Omalley is an emerging singer-songwriter from Chicago, now based in Los Angeles. Known for her unique and self-branded genre, Temper Tantrum Pop, Annie is dedicated to sharing her experiences through her music, offering an unfiltered and introspective perspective. Since her debut in 2018, she has had the opportunity to perform alongside iconic rock band Chicago and hip-hop artist Phora. In her debut album, 'Skrapbook,' released in 2022, Annie Omalley drew inspiration from her own experiences, particularly when she was told she wasn't “smart enough” during her school years. Transforming this adversity into a source of empowerment, she incorporates intentional misspellings in her lyrics to pay homage to her younger self. By embracing imperfections and mistakes, she aims to inspire others to do the same and discover the beauty within them. Each song she creates is an intimate conversation between Annie and her listeners, exploring themes of self-discovery, vulnerability, curiosity, and resilience. "Told Yew So" opens with Annie’s ethereal vocals, introducing the lyrics, "We don't see eye to eye, it's not the height babe, we're just different." These lyrics suggest that the individuals in this story have contrasting perspectives or opinions. The subsequent line, "Laces tied you're always trippin'," metaphorically suggests that one person tends to overthink or unnecessarily complicate things. As the song progresses towards the chorus, the combination of upbeat drum patterns and a velvety bass create a dreamy soundscape. Annie's vocals soar as she sings the lyrics, "I told yew so, you were worried we would crash, get too far than fall off track." These lines convey the message that Annie had foreseen resolving their conflicts. Despite their challenges, they overcome obstacles and find their way back to each other, proving that their love transcends any negative emotions they may have about the relationship or each other. Throughout the song "Told Yew So," Annie Omalley depicts the ups and downs of a relationship and communicates to her listeners that they are not always easy to maintain. By embracing vulnerability and self-exploration, which are central to Annie's artistic mantra, the song encourages individuals to navigate the complexities of their relationships with honesty and vulnerability. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Annie Omalley, and congratulations on your latest release, "Told Yew So." What inspired you to pursue a career in the music industry? Not to be cliche, but I feel like music chose me for as long as I can remember, and there wasn’t/isn't a plan B. Even when things get difficult, or the journey gets foggy, there is a belief in me that has never gone away. So I would say what inspired me and what inspires me every day is that I have never felt so sure about anything else. Has music always held a special place in your heart? Yes, and in so many different ways. Music can bring you back to a particular time, make you feel heard, give you chills, dance, cry, and unite people. For me, writing has been a way to survive and heal. Music is the universal language, and it's such a beautiful thing. I feel blessed to be able to participate this heavily in it. Could you share your creative process in bringing "Told Yew So" to life, from its inception to the final production? Creating "told yew so" was an entertaining session. My friend Gianni Taylor and I decided we were long overdue for a collab. We had been doing pitch work for other artists, and Gianni said, "We gotta do a collab for our artist projects." So we did a session with our producer Jack, and this is what came from it. Jack started on a beat, and I recorded the little hook melody that plays throughout the whole song. We were laughing about our height difference and how funny the promo videos would look, and I wrote, "We don't see eye to eye. It's not the height, babe; we're just different". Then I started writing my verse, and he started writing him while we were singing random melody ideas, and then we wrote the chorus so quickly, and it just worked. What stood out to me in this session was how positive and relaxed the vibe was and how we were laughing about lyrics and content ideas and feeling no pressure. This energy translated in the song as it's about dating an over-thinker and how you must always calm them down and remind them everything’s okay. I was writing from the opposite perspective since I am an over-thinker, but maybe one day, someone will have this kind of patience with me. So it's like manifesting, lol. From making your music debut in 2018 to now having a complete album and a new single, how do you feel you have evolved as an artist? I would say that I have come a very long way with the music I'm making in so many ways. The genres I’ve experimented with, the details and topics in my lyrics, and even my voice and melody ideas. This comes from how much more experience I have now in session almost daily. Emotional maturity has also played a huge role in the last few months. I finally understand the concept of being vulnerable and having boundaries and why that's different from oversharing in search of connection. In the past, I would chase chaos, almost as a protective mechanism, because if finding it was in my control, then I could dissolve it just the same way. This is not the case, but I was acting out of fear. However, I’m slowly ending this pattern. And now that I am more comfortable with being vulnerable, I am more open to my own emotions than ever, creating and writing from a much deeper place. If you could collaborate with any artist, which would you choose? This is a hard question because I have so many, but my dream collab would be the band Keane, Alt-j, U2, or Sam Fender. They are so unbelievably talented and inspire me so much, and I feel like we would complement each other well. AnnieOmalley Instagram Gianni Taylor Instagram

  • Robby Monroe Won’t Let You Define Him In New Release, “Lechery”

Hailing from the vibrant streets of Northeast Philly and now residing in the suburbs of Bensalem, Robby Monroe has quickly established himself as a musical force to be reckoned with. His journey into the realm of music was easy, a natural progression fueled by his innate passion for telling stories and singing along to captivating vocal performances. After Monroe spent some time writing poetry and short stories, he quickly began remixing songs before finally trying his hand at singing, and the rest, as they say, is history. A lifelong fan and current advocator for musical diversity, what sets Monroe apart is his unwavering commitment to defying genres and challenging preconceived notions. He is truly an artist like no other. When you combine his aforementioned penchant for storytelling and his voracious appetite for all types of music, the result is tantalizingly fresh music that transcends boundaries and breaks down barriers. It’s a breath of fresh air in an environment that often feels stale. A raunchy, high-energy release, “Lechery” is a perfect snapshot into the musical world Monroe created. As one would expect, “Lechery” isn’t a simple track, blending elements of pop, R&B and hip-hop, with other elements bubbling under the surface. Although blending so many competing influences is a hard line to walk, Monroe walks it expertly. Dropping lyrics like “Just say my name while you / Throwback that Hennessy” and “My discipline just died / So let’s get into this,” Monroe creates a hazy yet enticing soundscape. Robby Monroe’s “Lechery” is a fresh, catchy and boundary-breaking release that perfectly embodies his goals as an artist. Whenever you’re in the mood for something catchy yet different, tap in and stream Robby Monroe’s “Lechery,” available on all streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Robby Monroe! We loved “Lechery;" seeing and hearing so many different musical influences melding perfectly is so cool! Can you take us through the creative process for this song? Hi, and thanks for listening. Glad you enjoyed the track. The creative process for this song was trying to make a song that would bring you back to the early 2000s. I love Y2 K-style music. Some direct references for Lechery's sonic sound were Brandy's song Talk About Our Love and Tyra Banks's song Shake Ya Body. Those upbeat/dance styled RnB records had a specific sound that I felt truly represented me in this new music era. What is your favourite thing about making music? My favourite thing about making music is the writing part. Once the beat is done, creating a story around it is always the part I have such fun and focus on. Lyrics are life to me. No matter if a person doesn't even like my song vocally or sonically, they will at least respect the lyrics. Do you have a favourite musical memory, and what do you want to achieve with your music? My favourite musical memory has to be when I was super young, in 6th grade and went out for a part in the school musical. I was so nervous and shy but really wanted to be in it, so I practiced this song for hours to prepare for the audition. Day of, when my name was called, I went into the room and knew my speaking lines but completely forgot the lyrics to the song. So for the singing part, what did I do? Sang, the only song that came to mind was the classic Happy Birthday song. Put my own little spin on it and shockingly got the role. What I would like to achieve with my music is to be a great example of an expansive artist. Someone who takes risks and isn't limited to one genre or style to tell my story. I am an unboxable artist. What do you think is the most important quality for a musician to have? How would you describe your music to someone who hadn’t heard it before? The most important quality for a musician is knowing who they are as an artist. What you stand for and don't, why you're even doing this. A lost artist makes anything, and passable pop songs no longer work. Music with a message and a narrative is what I'm all about. Because I'm unboxable when it comes to genres, describing my music can be a bit tricky. I guess saying Alternative-Pop would be the best general label since I do some of everything. What’s next for Robby Monroe? Do you have more new music coming soon? What's next for me is more music coming. I will drop one more one before my sophomore EP comes out. Very excited to demonstrate a brand new side of Robby Monroe that my fans haven't seen or heard before. Instagram Twitter

  • Jane N’ The Jungle Unleashes Pent-Up Feelings With Their Electrifying New Single, “Wasteland”

Phoenix's best-kept modern rock secret strikes again with vocals that demand your attention and guitar riffs that speak to your soul. Hailing from Phoenix, AZ, Jane N' The Jungle is a modern rock band that separates itself from its peers through distinct, instantly recognizable vocals and breathtaking guitar play. Composed of vocalist extraordinaire Jordan White and the eclectic and supremely talented Brian Dellis on guitars, Jane N' The Jungle have captivated audiences with their fusion of alternative rock, metal, and punk, balancing the competing sounds in a way that somehow feels raw yet graceful and melodic. Following the success and critical reception of their previous single, "Raw as a Jewel," released last year, "Wasteland" firmly solidifies Jane N' The Jungle's status as a rising act to watch. They have also garnered substantial support from established media and musical publications such as MTV, Spankin' New, and Spotify, showcasing a rare ability to capture the hearts of both average listeners and executives. "Wasteland" is a testament to Jane N' The Jungle's sophisticated and captivating musical vision. While delving into the ever-significant realm of toxicity and relationships, Jordan White's clear and resolute vocals sharply contrast raging instrumentals and Brian Dellis's exquisite guitar accompaniment. While dropping lyrics like "Act you like you mean it / Don't leave me hanging like you don't understand," Jane N' The Jungle's vocal and instrumental performance blend perfectly, immersing you in their soundscape. With their unique sound and undeniable talent, Jane N' The Jungle seemed primed for a breakout year. Whenever you're ready, tap in and stream their new single, "Wasteland," available now on all major streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Jane N’ The Jungle! We loved “Wasteland;" what a performance! The vocals felt clear and distinct, and the instrumentals felt like a different entity, yet they came together so perfectly! We had to ask, what was the creative process for this song like, and what was your favorite part about making it? Thank you so much for all the love and support for our new single, “Wasteland.” We started the creative process in Phoenix, AZ, at our studio and worked on several demos developing the song and vibe at Cosmic Soup Studios. Then we recorded the song with Chuck Alkazian at Pearl Sound Studios in Canton, MI. The whole process, from start to finish, is exciting, and hard to pick a favorite. I went back and forth with many different lyrics, and it felt so good when finally, the song lyrically came together. We love your band name! Can you tell us the origin story of “Jane N’ The Jungle?" How did you decide on the band name, and how did you come together? Ahh, thank you! I’m so glad you like it! We all thought the name was great after hearing a few people tell me at shows that I reminded them of a Jane in the Jungle-type character on stage, quiet and fierce. The name stuck, and that’s how it came to be. Thus far, what has been your favorite part about making music in general? Hmm, probably at the very start when the vibe and story start to develop, and you can mold the song in the development stage. What do you hope to achieve with your music? We hope to inspire and impact all those we can with our music and share a different musical perspective that makes us stand out lyrically and emotionally. What’s next for Jane N’ The Jungle? Do you have anything you want to say to your fans? We are excited to share more new music soon and to get on the road! Thank you for all your love and support. It means the world to us!
