  • Melany Toujas Is Bathing In The “Starlight”

MelanyToujas, a talented French singer, has been making waves on the music scene with her innovative ideas and eco-friendly approach to music. Inspired by her desire to share a unique journey with her audience, Melany recently developed a groundbreaking method of incorporating natural elements, such as trees and plants, into her music. This fresh concept, which she has dubbed "Eco Pop," perfectly encapsulates her passion for combining nature and music, and her hope that other artists will follow suit. Her latest single, "Starlight," showcases Melany's creative genius and dedication to Eco Pop. Starting with a futuristic synth key melody, the song transitions into a bouncy dance beat that perfectly complements her captivating vocals. With lyrics like "feel the rhythm in my mind, you'll find a way to be mine, will the future be bright?" and a fun, vibrant music video, "Starlight," offers listeners a shiny glimpse into Melany's world. What truly sets "Starlight" on its own, though, is its nostalgic dance vibes. Melany, with the help of a revolutionary device that records the electrical variations of trees and plants and turns them into MIDI tracks, has managed to create a song that features a lemon tree as its lead instrument. This family gift planted in her garden by her great-grandfather and grandfather adds depth and meaning to the song. Although the song's lyrics don't directly address ecology, Melany's commitment to environmentalism is evident in her work. By incorporating natural elements into her music and envisioning eco-friendly concerts and tours, she strives to impact the planet positively. Her message of unity and respect for the Earth truly resonates throughout her artistry. With her innovative ideas, passion for the environment, and undeniable talent, MelanyToujas has a bright future ahead of her. As she continues to release new music and collaborate with other artists, we can expect her journey to be filled with inspiration and flare. Keep an eye on this rising star – her journey is just beginning, and the sky's the limit! Sail away with this one today, available on all platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Melany Toujas! Congrats on letting your soul shine on "Starlight," in which you've blended futuristic synth elements with that dance bounce seamlessly. What led you to this particular combination of sounds, and how did you find the balance between the two while maintaining your Eco Pop vision? I’ve always been into mixing modern sounds and 80s instruments; I always try to get a real Bassline or electric guitar in my compositions cause I love the vibes it gives to the music. So with my production team, we tried hard to keep that grooving vibe by playing with old and new sounds, but the priority was to use the three MIDI recordings as a lead instrument, and I’m thrilled it fitted and it precisely sounded the way I hoped it will. And I’m grateful for what the tree gave us. Using a lemon tree as the lead instrument in "Starlight" is both innovative and deeply personal. How did you navigate the challenges of incorporating such an unconventional instrument into a pop song, and what did you learn from the process? I’ve always wanted to make the Planet and its treasure shine, and I love the notion of a cycle, so I thought that now I had the object that records plant variation, I could make the cycle of trees shine. The tree grows thanks to the earth and then makes us breathe so we can live on earth, and the lemon tree is even feeding us. That’s even more amazing. And now trees can even be used as instruments, so do we cut them so fast? I’ve been amazed to hear the different sounds plants could play, and that’s also why we did «Starlight» with the sound of the daytime lemon tree, and we have an upcoming song on June 1st named « Fake Friend» that is made with the night time sound of the lemon tree; it was mind-blowing to hear how different it sounded from day to night. And to be honest, I trusted the university with the healthy development of this idea cause I knew that doing this for a good reason would lead to good results. I think I learned something I was already assuming: that we can live the same way but with more respect towards what Earth gives us and that creativity is limitless. "Starlight," tells a heartfelt love story with an eco-friendly twist. Can you share any real-life experiences or inspirations behind the song's lyrics and the emotions they convey? This might be weird, haha. It's a metaphor; in a certain way, it’s a relationship with ups and down, like I think c happens in every relationship. But to be honest, I wrote it as if the two humans were trees, and if you listen to the lyrics carefully, it’s like two humanized trees falling in love. It also can reflect how vital a relationship can be for your health, and it can save you sometimes in the same way. I think our relationship with natural elements is essential, which we have to start worrying more about. Our actions for the planet should be the same as humans. It’s all about kindness. The music video for "Starlight" showcases different sides of you as an artist. How did you develop the visual concept for the video, and what aspects of your personality did you want to emphasize through the imagery and storyline? First, I wanted to have a tree house, and we had this house that seemed abandoned and where nature and plants took over the architecture. So that was a fantastic side of how strong our Planet is. But I also wanted to share a lot of light and hope cause I’m positive and always trust the future. So I wanted positivity, nature and modernity. So combined with rhythm and dance and the incredible team I was lucky to have with me, we ended up with the Starlight music video. As you continue to develop your unique Eco Pop genre and share your environmental message, what are your goals for the future? Are there any specific projects, collaborations, or milestones you hope to achieve in your music career? My goals for the future are first to grow my audience and go on a world tour. If there’s a milestone I want to achieve is to introduce the eco-pop genre to the industry and make it an award category, and above all, make the Mus’Eco system the new way of touring for as many artists as possible so we can travel and build this awareness on climate preserving, just touring the same way but with more respect and less carbon print. There’s a lot of collaboration I wish I’ll do, cause I love meeting and collaborating with new people, I think nowadays I want to collaborate with foundations like WWF to act for animals, and I wish someday I’ll be able to be in a project related to Michael Jackson cause he’s my hero coming right after my parents. • The Duane Bartels Band Dares You To Take Them On In New Song “Wildfire”

The New Orleans outfit heralds the arrival of their new album, “Electric Baby Carriage,” with an enticing new tune. Hailing from New Orleans, The Duane Bartels Band has quickly established itself as a well-known name on the local music scene from their hard work and love of music. The band plays 4-5 shows a week, sharpening and showing off their skills to adoring audiences at legendary venues like Tipitina's and House of Blues. Although the Covid-19 pandemic would halt some of the band’s musical goals, they’ve picked up right where they left off, going from strength to strength. The Duane Bartels Band’s new album, “Electric Baby Carriage” (produced by Justin Armstrong), features a mature, electric sound that showcases the band's range. Speaking on the album, the band mentioned that “Electric Baby Carriage” represents how far the band has come, representing growth and a departure from the grittier sound that their debut EP, “The Ballad of Johnny Loveless,” embodied. “Wildfires” is the song the band decided to appoint as the herald of the good things to come on “Electric Baby Carriage.” First-time listeners will note a smooth, effortless groove to the instrumentals that perfectly accentuate the spunky vocals. Daring the listener to “Take me on, to California” in the opening lines, The Duane Bartels Band takes the listener on an easy, no-frills musical journey that seems to sap your worries away. “Wildfires” is a standout track on “Electric Baby Carriage” and a thrilling love letter to California and those who protect it. Whenever you need some soulful groove in your musical rotation, tap in and stream “Wildfires,” available now on all major streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Duane Bartels Band! We loved “Wildfires” What a perfect introduction to your music and the standard you’ve set for “Electric Baby Carriage”! We had to ask, so you mentioned “Wildfires” was a love letter to California. What connection do you have there, and how did it become? Thanks for having us! I (Duane) was born in California—San Diego, to be exact. Moved around a bit and ended up in the Bay Area for about 12 years. Spent 8 of those in San Francisco. My Dad’s family goes back generations in Ventura County. Even though I call New Orleans home now, California will always be where my heart is. Our Saxophone player Nick and Trombonist David are from California as well. The major fires we experience today began when I moved to New Orleans. It broke my heart. My family had a close brush with one in Ventura. One of my best friends from high school works for Cal Fire and is risking his life to keep everyone safe. It is a love letter to them and others to experience the beauty of California. Many people, especially here in the South, have a disdain for California. I think more so about the people, politics and price of living. But it is a majestic place on this earth. I wanted to evoke that in the song. It also has this underlying theme about me bringing someone back home with me one day. Which I still hope to do. Likely with my beautiful and loving girlfriend Sam. How did the Duane Bartels Band come to be? Can you give us the origin story? When I moved to New Orleans, I was a lost soul. A bad breakup had sent me packing, and I came to the city on a whim. I ended up living and working at The India House Hostel. It is the second-largest hostel in the United States. Our drummer Matthieu was working there as a handyman (so was I, but not a very good one), and we hit it off quickly. We started jamming and slowly brought the band together. At the time, he was in an Arab-based Rock ground called Kuwaisiana, and our two groups fused together. Jonathan (Trumpet) and Nick (Sax) were both in that band, and so was our original bass player John. Colin (Bass/Keys) and David (Trombone) joined later on, around 2019, along with John (Guitar). Although the latter isn’t in the band any longer due to a need to take a step back from the lifestyle, we still consider him as such. We’ve been a solid unit since. What’s been your favourite musical memory together as a group? We recently headlined The House of Blues stage at French Quarter Fest. That was a big one for us. Playing Tipatina’s in 2019 was another. We did a small three-piece tour during Hurricane Ida (wasn’t planned out that way) that certainly brought us a lot closer together. It was also putting this record together with our engineer and friend Justin Armstrong. Can you take us through your creative process? How do you normally create your music? It generally starts with a melody. I’ll write a chord structure or melody, then slowly add lyrics. Often I will write the horn lines to it as well. Then I will bring the skeleton of this tune to the band. We expand from there. Things get added on or taken away. It is a slow process that can take months or years, although every once in a while, a song will fly out of us. It’s not over till it’s recorded. This a motto I learned from an old drummer of mine back in San Francisco. I still work on that mantra. Sometimes it's the perfect collaboration between us. For example, on the tune “Every Song.” Colin took a horn line from the band he used to lead called Elephant’s Gerald (David used to play in it as well), and it fits perfectly over the top of my chord structure. Sometimes it's pure magic. When he went into the studio with Justin, he would always have some input on it. He is a true magician behind the boards. What was your favourite part of bringing the vision for “Electric Baby Carriage” to life, and are there any favourite pieces on the album we should look out for? Seeing the artwork completed was a real joy. It was done by our friend Fox Capone. (also part of Colin’s old band) He did a great job. Just being able to release it was the greatest joy. It was a three effort to make it this far. A hurricane, Covid, health problems and a whole lot more set us back greatly. But we finally got here. Some of our favorite tracks are “Passion Project” “Every Song” “Nothing Left” and of course “Wildfires.” There are little nuances in all the songs that I think make them special. For the old school Baby Boy Bartels and The Boys fans (not that there are too many) we recorded “Always Got You On My Mind” from our first record. Instagram Facebook

  • Major Moment Is Breaking Free From The Shackles Of Expectation

The Boston-based alternative metal outfit decides to put its foot down and be who they want to be. With their uncanny ability to balance intense and cinematic sound with more traditional melodies, Boston-based alternative metal outfit Major Moment continues to set the world alight and blaze their own path in the music scene. Having geared up once more with their latest single, “Toxic,” slated to be released April 26th (ahead of their highly anticipated album “The Pain That Makes Us Grow”), the band continues to show why the sky is the limit in the face of their limitless talent. Fusing heavy guitar riffs, modern production, and melodic vocals, Major Moment has eked out a signature sound that has made them stand out in an admittedly crowded heavy metal music scene. Another feature that has helped them stand out is their unusual yet flawlessly executed ability to draw on both male and female vocals. Both contributors utilize their vast range to create a blend of styles that captivates audiences. Add emotionally charged, relevant, meaningful lyrics to the mix, and it’s easy to see why they excelled. Their latest single, "Toxic," was inspired by the impact of social media consumption trends on artists and creators. Utilizing the metaphor of a toxic romantic relationship, “Toxic” is Major Moment’s introspective exploration of the constant pressure on artists to produce content. Over their signature intense yet melodic vocals, lyrics like “So toxic, you never let me breathe / I’m losing sleep to give you everything” lament how the pressures of artistry often come at the cost of compromising quality and even mental health. It's a poignant message and one Major Moment hopes resonates with fans and newcomers alike. With their debut full-length album coming soon, “Toxic” shows that Major Moment is showing no signs of complacency or slowing down, even with significant events on the horizon. When you’re ready, tap in and stream Major Moment’s “Toxic,” available everywhere. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Major Moment! We loved “Toxic”; it was such an enlightening peek into the psyche of artists and the pressures you go through to deliver music to us fans! We have to ask, how can you, as artists, strike a balance between putting the work in and maybe overworking yourselves to meet those high expectations? Hey, hey, guys! Thank you for having us. Happy to be here! Thrilled to hear that you dig “Toxic”! Great question! We wonder the same thing every day about other artists and creatives, especially those that are more successful than us and are further down the career path because literally, nothing about our lives is currently in balance. Our house (well, it’s not technically ours, we can’t afford to buy any real estate right now) is a mess, our desktop screen and download folder are filled with files, and we have anywhere from 30 to 50+ tabs open in our browser at all times, we can scroll our task list for several seconds, and much longer if it shows completed tasks. There’s never enough time in the day, money in our bank account or stamina in us to accomplish everything we have planned, so it always feels like we’re catching up; that’s probably why it’s called “chasing your dreams.” Now if we add our day jobs in the mix that we work, you guessed it, overtime, to fund our music career, you get the idea. We have no days off; whenever we take vacations or sick days, we work more. Do we overwork ourselves to the point of diminishing returns? That’s also something we think about often, but we keep going, despite the pain (pun to our new album title very much intended). You mentioned you’re based in Boston. What’s the metal scene like there, and what is your favourite part about being based in Boston? Boston is a beautiful city, but it’s not great for creatives, let alone the metal scene. The infrastructure is just not there, finding a music video production company or a studio to shoot a music video at (something as basic as a cyclorama or a large enough green screen) is a nightmare, and often the options either don’t exist at all or are so limited that it requires us to take our business to other states, like New Hampshire, Rhode Island, New York, research even further out and find creative solutions to solve these problems. It’s tough because we’d rather spend time coming up with ideas and treatments for music videos than spend hours and days looking for a location or a music video director who’s available and doesn’t live 14 hours away. Looking for a music studio and a producer that shared our vision led us to Maine (for which we’re super-thankful as we love working with Kevin Billingslea and call The Halo Studio our second home). The industry is just not in Boston; most smaller to mid-tier venues under the 500 cap is closed, and there are no active rock radio stations left in Boston; whatever is left there, like the festival or media outlets, is pretty gatekept. You would think the city with the most famous music school in the entire world would cater better to musicians. However, not to sound all negative, there are a few bands with great potential in and around Boston, and we always try to support them. Check out our friends Girih, Parts Per Million and Sleepspirit; they deserve more recognition. So you had very specific circumstances that led to the creation of “Toxic,” but could you take us through your usual creative process? It varies from song to song, but the pattern for the most has been: Andrey & Sasha (vocalists) come up with an idea that can be inspired by any event, a random phrase or a thought, develop it to the point where it sounds like a decent home demo with some production elements, structure and lyrics, then we take it to Kevin [Billingslea, producer] for an in-studio pre-pro, where we further work on refining the song, its arrangement and lyrics. Then we take it back home, sit on it for a few days and work on it some more before we come back and record it. It’s always exciting to see how the song can change from a demo to a finished track, and we try to take our audience behind the scenes as often as possible and share our process, our wins and failures with them. We think it can inspire other creative people to see how imperfect certain aspects or conditions can be, yet they still can work and, most importantly, bring joy to our listeners. We’re still learning. It’s a never-ending process. What do you love most about being able to create music, both for yourselves and for your fans? For us, it’s important that whatever we create serves some purpose and brings positive energy and joy to our audience (for whatever reason, we don’t like to use the word “fans” when we talk about our listeners). They are a very important part of our process, and we love to see them enjoying our music, adding it to their workout or study playlists, and getting excited to hear our new stuff. We share this excitement with them, there’s some unity in it, and we love it. Creating music for us is a way to express ourselves using poetry and loud noises (we should probably copyright this phrase), an emotional outlet, and is often a challenge too, and we like a good challenge; otherwise, we wouldn’t be in the music business. Your full-length debut album is slated for release later this year! What was your favourite part about bringing the vision to life for that album, and what can we expect from it? You can expect a good variety of sounds and genre blends, some things that our listeners love us for and some things we haven’t tried yet. You know, we gotta keep it fun and creative, from how it sounds to how we want to release it. Although we’re releasing “The Pain That Makes Us Grow” via singles on streaming, those that want to hear the album in full, months ahead of everyone else, can do so by pre-ordering it on vinyl and CDs on our website right now. A few special supporters got their hands on test presses and will already be listening to our album in early May. We want this strong connection with our audience and offer new ways to experience our music. We can only dream of hearing our favourite artists' new albums months before everyone else, so we can at least make this dream come true for our listeners. Instagram Facebook

  • Out of Body, Into the Heart: Bri Fletcher’s Ballad of Struggle

Bri Fletcher, the talented Nashville recording artist, is set to captivate her audience again by releasing her poignant and timely original ballad, "Out of Body." Fresh off the success of her compelling single "Damage," Fletcher continues to make waves in the music industry, earning praise for her emotive storytelling and powerful vocals. "Out of Body" tackles the complex subject of mental health, making it a significant addition to her repertoire, especially as it precedes Mental Health Awareness Month. The song, co-written with Brailey Lenderman and Chris Sligh, promises to provide an authentic and relatable exploration of personal struggles, further cementing Fletcher's reputation as an artist unafraid to delve into the deeper aspects of the human experience. Bri Fletcher’s new single stands out as a ballad that gracefully navigates the turbulent waters of mental health, inviting listeners to embark on an introspective journey through the often-unspoken challenges associated with inner turmoil. Fletcher's vocal prowess is on full display in this release, showcasing her ability to evoke raw emotion and vulnerability, capturing the essence of the song's message with a delicate yet decisive touch. One of the defining elements of this ballad is its unflinching honesty, as Fletcher delves into personal experiences and emotions that are all too familiar for those grappling with mental health issues. By shedding light on these struggles, "Out of Body" creates a space for understanding and empathy and empowers listeners to confront their own battles head-on. As Mental Health Awareness Month approaches, releasing "Out of Body" couldn't be timelier. The song is a much-needed reminder of the importance of acknowledging and addressing mental health. This release is a must-listen for anyone seeking solace, understanding, and connection through the power of music. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Bri Fletcher, and congratulations on your latest release, "Out of Body." "Out of Body" delves into the complexities of mental health. Can you share the inspiration behind this powerful ballad and how your personal experiences shaped its creation? This song was such a cathartic song for me to write. I was a little hesitant at first cause I’ve never really talked about how I was feeling with co-writers before, but it felt like such a safe place, and I brought them the idea, and they were so supportive. I wrote this at a time when I was feeling off. Seasonal depression, being overworked and burnt out, and dealing with some personal things, it felt like everything was becoming too overwhelming. I become detached from things when I get stressed, and this song says it so beautifully. I wanted to almost call myself out in this song of my bad habits to remember to re-center myself when I start feeling that way. Co-writing the song with Brailey Lenderman and Chris Sligh, what was the collaborative process like, and how did each of your unique perspectives contribute to the song's overall message? I always leave the room with Brailey & Chris having an amazing song. This was a collaborative process of sharing our stories and experiences. Your vocals in "Out of Body" are delicate and strong, evoking many emotions. How do you approach conveying such vulnerability and strength in your vocal performance? Thank you! I would normally with a song go all out with ad-libs, runs, and all the tricks, but I felt like this song just needed to be felt. I wanted to strip it down and only put dynamics where it needed to keep its vulnerability while getting the emotion across. As an artist, what role does music play in raising awareness and breaking the stigma surrounding mental health, and how do you hope "Out of Body" contributes to this conversation? I think music is a huge part of raising awareness surrounding mental health! When you think about it, the first thing most people do when feeling down is looking to music. Sometimes you need a good song to cry to, to motivate you, or to allow you to feel whatever it is you are feeling. Many more people are speaking up about it now, and I think the more, the better cause the biggest fear when you are struggling is that something is wrong with you or you are crazy. The affirmation that these feelings are normal and happen to most of us is the strongest thing we can do to help each other! How do you envision your music continuing to address important social issues and personal experiences, and what can your fans expect from your upcoming projects? I’ve always wanted to be real with my music and represent the place I’m at or the things I’ve gone through. I hope to continue writing amazing songs that inspire, emote, or resonate with people. I will continue to release music and can’t wait for the fans to hear what I’ve got in store! Instagram Facebook

A mighty hurrah for the super bowl banger with "Bigfoots On The Field" While crafting the lyrics for the song, what inspired you to build a story around a team of Bigfoots playing football and winning the Super Bowl, and how do you think this narrative connects with the broader message of the Staunch Moderates Intellectual Movement? We didn’t win the Super Bowl in our “Bigfoots on the field” track.” We said we were going to win the Super Bowl. What inspired us to create a team around Bigfoots is having chosen our Bigfoot, “Staunch,” as the mascot for our Staunch Moderates® Intellectual Movement. We all of a sudden found ourselves in the Bigfoots Business. Being entrepreneurial and football fans, “Why not for football? We checked the registry of Trademarks for what we were interested in, “Bigfoots Football™ and Bigfoots Baseball ™ and the coast was clear. We filed for the marks and got to work! We were then in the business of making hip-hop albums for our intellectual movement, so we came up with a theme song for Bigfoots Football (Thank you, Casanova Ace! ) and then made a music video for it. We did the same for Bigfoots Baseball. The two music videos are doing well in the Shorts Film Fest Circuit. This narrative connects with the broader message of the Staunch Moderates Intellectual Movement because we want to speak to the people and bring them to our way of thinking through the philosophy of Moderation and peace. Our strategy is to win over the hearts of our fans through the two most beloved American sports and their favourite folklore character, Football, Baseball & Bigfoots. We, therefore, give you Bigfoots Football™ & Bigfoots Baseball™. Can you discuss the creative process behind developing a chorus's memorable, nostalgic chant for "Bigfoots On The Field?" What influenced your decision to use that specific phrasing, and why do you think it resonates strongly with listeners? The chorus was written and performed by Casanova Ace. “hats off to him!” As "Bigfoots On The Field" draws on a funky, old-school rap style reminiscent of hip-hop pioneers, which elements from this era do you believe are most appealing to contemporary audiences and contribute to the song's nostalgia and fun tone? Back to Casanova, He’s almost 60, from Brooklyn, was 12 years older than Biggie. He says he knew the guy. "Bigfoots On The Field" showcases an interesting fusion of multiple genres. How did you approach experimenting with these different styles, and were there any specific artists or songs that particularly influenced your creative choices in this track? Here’s a list of our different genres: Classical, Jazz, R&B, Hip hop, Rock n Roll, Olympian, Gospel, Showtunes, & Hawaiian, Lol. Can you share personal experiences or memories that inspired the lyrics and the song's overall mood? I appreciate you guys; thanks for having me BuzzMusic. At some point in life, we all experience young love where there are no rules to love because we didn’t know what love was and just did what felt right. My goal was when listening to this song, it takes you back to a carefree and happy time. The raw, energetic vocals in "Be Ok" are key to the track's high-octane rock sound. How do you prepare yourself mentally and physically to deliver such powerful performances in the studio and on stage? It is an energy; it’s hard to explain; I can tap into that source. It’s almost not preparing but also using everything I've experienced to get to this point, tap into that moment, and become the song and the words. Your collaboration with Robbie Hiser resulted in a remastered version of "Be Ok." How did the two of you approach the creative process, and what aspects of Hiser's production style brought new dimensions to the song? The Wizard is great (that’s my name for him). When I played the record, he understood the story and brought a new life to the song. He juiced up the guitars and reproduced it to be in-your-face loud but still gentle, which complimented my vocals which worked. Robbie and I have a few songs on the way; everything we have done so far has been very high tempo and good energy. "Be Ok" is the first installment of your upcoming EP, "Choose Life." How do you envision the rest of the EP unfolding in terms of themes, musical influences, and the evolution of your sound since working on "Be Ok?” I’m pushing myself on this EP to limits I didn’t think I could. I feel really good about it. The Wizard (Robbie) produced the whole thing and helped me craft a sound sonically but also helped me develop some skills in the studio hence calling him the wizard. After a week of being locked in a studio, I knew we were building a Metro and Future relationship but the rock version. I must also thank Benji, Joel, Josh Madden, and the whole MDDN team for even looking my way; I'm very grateful for them. The essence of the EP is finding the silver lining in life when it comes to the elements of life; Love, health, wealth, relationships and self-reflection. The influences come from good music. I listen to alot of rap, pop and rock, and I’m figuring out a way to incorporate all of them but still be myself in the middle of it all. As you continue to make a name for yourself in the music industry, what are your long-term goals and aspirations for your career? How do you hope the impact of "Be Ok" and the "Choose Life" EP will shape your artistic growth and future projects? In the best way, I empty myself to music. I’m here for the experience and to find new sounds and ways to connect with people. I want to make a change and show young, poor ghetto kids there is another way and that they don’t have to conform to the streets but rather Choose Life. When my manager Justin Bishop (The Truth) and I were thinking of a name for the EP, we wanted something that represented who I am and where I am in life but resonated with the masses. With the world's climate, choosing to live is a growing message that today's youth deserves to hear. I hope my music becomes a voice for the voiceless, touches all four corners of the world, drives me closer to myself, and lets God handle the rest. Facebook Twitter

Welcome to BuzzMusic, Oshanna, and congratulations on your latest release, “Energy.” Could you tell us any unconventional inspirations or experiences contributing to the song's unique vibe? I always had an issue making and keeping female friends when I was younger. Part of the reason was that I moved around a lot, but a few friendships didn’t last because of ego and pride. I had a friend I called my “best friend” in elementary school, and as we got older, I learned that that individual wasn’t exactly a friend. As I got older, I carried that experience into almost all of my female friendships and found it hard to get close to another that way again. “Energy" was inspired by one of my closest friendships. This friendship came out of nowhere and allowed me to put my guard down slowly but surely. “Energy” Is about being so in tune with someone that it doesn’t take much for us to read one another’s vibe. This friendship aided my growth and allowed me to see myself and others more clearly. It also taught me the real meaning of unconditional love. The friendship that inspired this song transcended our egos, which allowed me to be more vulnerable in writing about this experience. We were able to be ourselves in our rawest form, which made me realize that I didn’t want any friendships beneath that calibre we had created. "Energy" showcases your ability to convey deep emotions through your music. Can you share a moment during the songwriting or recording where you felt a profound connection to the song's message? During the “Energy” writing process, I tapped into a vulnerable place as I was thinking about everything I had been through with that person up until that point. I thought about how much we’ve grown and had come so far from where we started. When I sat and wrote the song, I was going through our conversations about our past, her past, her upbringing, and how she sees herself, which gave me the push to write about “Energy.” Our dynamic had giving me the context I needed. This song is a song I cry to as it has allowed me to feel that deeply. R&B has a rich history of storytelling and emotional expression. How did you infuse "Energy" with your own distinct artistic flair while still staying true to the essence of the genre? As an rnb artist, I understand that to honour the genre; I must be willing to get venerable with my audience. I am a storyteller at heart; anyone who understands me and my writing process knows I’m an artist who enjoys writing from “my” point of view. Even as a listener, I like to listen to music with colour and substance, and I enjoy being a good storyteller; I love listening to music I can learn a thing or two from as it broadens my perspective of the world and gives me a chance to connect with the listener. I always try to tell a story through my music and stay true to myself, which grants me the ability to express myself in whatever way or style suits me. I don’t ever try to “fix” myself to sound one way, I think that creates a box, and I don’t enjoy being boxed in, so when I sing or write music, I “do,” and whatever I sound like then becomes my “style” or “artistic flair.” The vocals in "Energy" are powerful and intimate, engaging the listener deeper. Can you discuss any experimental vocal techniques or approaches you employed to create this effect in the song? I wanted “Energy” to sound slightly different from the rest. When I recorded the first layer and connected with the song more and more as I sang it, I started hearing different layers of sounds, so I played around with different octaves and vocals, creating layers with different tones to get a more full and colourful sound. Energy took a lot of “experimenting” before it became the work of art it is now. When I record, I like to involve my engineer and allow my engineer their creative freedom. It took me 2 years to finally be content with the ideas my engineer and I came up with. After trial and error, I got closer to “Oshanna’s Sound" and now make it my duty to test different sounds, styles, and techniques in my recordings. As your career in the R&B and soul music scene continues to grow, how do you imagine the impact of "Energy" on your artistic journey, and what unique milestones or achievements do you hope to accomplish in the future? I envision “Energy” being the tune that helps jumpstart my career on a larger scale. I imagine that “Energy” will change the trajectory of my artistic journey in a positive way as it will create more opportunities for me to evolve as an artist and help me grow my fanbase. It will allow others to connect with me and understand what I have gone through. I also believe that this release will allow me to hone in on my artistic side more than my prior releases have because of all the time and effort this song took me to create, and finally, Love to be able to want to release it. I know this song will leave a positive impact on myself and anyone that hears it merely because of the fact that I connect with it so well. Instagram Twitter

We have to ask, what was the inspiration for “Get Down”? What inspired you to make this song? There wasn't much inspiration for it. It was one of those tracks where I just wrote what came to mind and went with the flow of it, and it came together well. It was one of my favourite tracks I've made thus far. You mentioned you were born in Denver but raised in New York. How did growing up in a city with such rich musical history as New York influence you as an artist? I mainly grew up in the Upstate area of NY, so it was different than the city. There wasn't much Hip Hop in the area I grew up in, but music was a big part of my childhood on all different genres. You mentioned you got into music at a very young age. What made you want to pursue music as a career seriously, and what drives your ability to keep putting the work in daily? Other family members also did music, and I mainly listened to classic rock before my early teens. Then I got into Hip Hop and realized I wanted to do that. My goal is to make this a career so that and wanted success and to better my life is what keeps me going and keeping at it every day. For any new listeners, how would you describe your music? I would describe my sound as a blend of New and Old School Hip Hop. So whether you like old or new Rap, I got you covered. What’s next for Magnificent T? Can we expect to hear more new music soon? I have some more big plans and tracks coming this year. I have a big announcement I plan on dropping this coming month in May, so keep an eye out for that! Instagram Twitter

Their debut album, Bridge to Neverland, showcased a sound that was as vast and luminous as the cosmos itself, cementing the band's place in the siren rock scene. "Intergalactic," their latest single, epitomizes this ethereal sound. "Intergalactic" is a sonic journey that transports listeners to the far reaches of, of Persephone's siren domain. The track begins with a shimmering guitar riff that sets the stage for Sarah Rae's otherworldly vocals. The composition is an intricate tapestry of interstellar synth and shoegaze elements, meticulously woven to create a transcendent auditory experience. The operatic vocals inject a wave of emotional intensity, while the pop/punk undercurrent keeps the song anchored to the serene but uplifting foundation of the song. The lyrics of "Intergalactic" spin an enthralling tale that draws upon the rich tapestry of fairy tales and classic stories. This theme echoes through the very core of the band's music, providing listeners with a refreshing, nostalgic twist on modern rock. As the song unfolds, the listener is pulled deeper into the captivating production the band has created, with the music painting a vivid picture of iridescent colours and timeless voyages. As of Persephone's star continues to rise in the music universe, it's clear that their unique sound resonates with listeners. With plans to embark on an exciting festival circuit and their interstellar tour, the band is well on their way to placing themselves as innovators in the rock scene. Thank you for joining us at BuzzMusic, of persephone. How did you develop the concept of siren rock, and what were your biggest influences in creating this unique genre? Siren Rock was born out of combining dream pop, indie rock, and my classical training as an opera singer! I wanted to create something powerful yet soft. Ethereal, yet modern. Relatable but also tantalizing. The real siren rock - the sound that's coming forward with the release of the Rainbow Road album - is encompassed with years of releases starting from soft indie pop with muted vocals to the post-rock elements of my first album, Bridge to Neverland. The true sound of siren rock has been born from what I have been searching for, and by listening to all of my listeners and the releases, they have loved both. Combining these two things has brought forward the brightest, best version of what siren rock encompasses. What is the songwriting process like for of persephone, and how has it evolved since the band's formation? All of the music from of persephone is written about personal experience. I was once taught by an improv teacher that relatable is better. I want people to relate to the ugly, gritty, and uncomfortable feelings that we all go through every single day. I don't want to write about reminiscing about my ex on a car ride. I want to reminisce about my toxic habits and how I battled those demons and overcame them on the other side of my Rainbow Road. Can you share the story behind the inspiration for "Rainbow Road" and how it ties into the band's overall theme? Rainbow Road as an album is not only a two-part release to shape my vision for siren rock but also shares my deepest, darkest fears coming out of a life where childhood trauma and wounds held me back for a long time. I'm at a place where I truly feel safe honouring my divine feminine and still respecting where my childhood came from. of persephone is aptly named to refer to being a part of the fable of the goddess, Persephone. So, to be of something is to embody its nature and spirit. Persephone is the Goddess of Spring but also the keeper of the River Styx. For anyone who doesn't know that story, the River Styx is the river of the damned where souls travel in and out of the underworld. She is light and dark, jubilant and brooding, life and death. Everyone has a yin and yang, where the term persephone originated. Rainbow Road embodies all of those fears and wonders at the same time. What challenges did you face when transitioning from a solo project to a full band, and how did you overcome them? A big part of the challenge, which is still a challenge today, was that I don't have a normal band composition. I am the writer, producer, and engineer behind of persephone. I have a live band, and a big hurdle was writing and releasing music they had to learn. It's not unheard of in pop music, but for an indie band, it was unique. As I sign with a booking manager and soon a record label, I will embrace performing solo again. I'll be moving to Los Angeles, where I will spend time developing more of a theatrical performance to give fans a truly unique experience that ties together elements of each that you wouldn't know unless you have seen me live. What are your aspirations for the future of Persephone, and how do you hope to continue evolving your sound? My aspirations include finalizing a record deal, a US tour, and, hopefully, an international tour within the next few years. Truthfully, siren rock has a unique sound that I have bred into something I adore. I wouldn't change the sound because it's unique to me and tells my story. I don't want polished pop, and I don't want my short stories to be changed. The only thing I would seek is to release the hat of the producer and engineer to a proper producer; once I've found one, I will not change what siren rock stands for. Siren Rock is vulnerable and ethereal, and I want it to stay that way when I am selling out stadiums full of people who want to feel vulnerable with me. Instagram Facebook

  • Tail End: An Odyssey of the Human Spirit

Emerging from the shadows of the Andean peaks in Venezuela, an area well known for its cultural heritage and rich musical history. The captivating heavy psych-grunge power trio Joudy (“Howdy”) masterfully weaves ethereal and dissonant melodies, brooding tones, and entrancing rhythms to craft a sound that is both raw and refined. Reminiscent of Deftones, QOTSA, and Nirvana- Joudy fuse their dynamic musicianship and electrifying showmanship that boldly contrasts with their introspective and esoteric lyrical themes. Uprooted by political chaos, cousins Diego Ramirez (Vocals/Guitar), Gabriel Gavidia (Bass), and Hulrich Navas (Drums) were forced to flee their homeland during the peak of their rise in Venezuela. One-by-one members gradually dispersed around the globe until finding solace and artistic rebirth in the United States in 2019. However, these trialling events have become a source of expression, reflected in the people's struggles and the political climate in Venezuela. The band’s early and present-day work continues to channel these emotions, informing their sound and message. Upon their reunion in the US, the band gained notoriety for their intoxicating stage presence. Their much-anticipated third LP, Destroy All Monsters, symbolizes Joudy's triumphant return, marking their first full-length album since re-establishing themselves in the United States. Wonderland Magazine celebrates the album as an ingenious melding of the band's complex heritage and the insurmountable trials they've encountered in their personal and professional lives. It is a voyage into the unknown and a guiding light leading the way back. Their new single, “Tail End,” offers a good look into their new body of work. “Tail End” features a poignant visual film that perfectly captures the song's emotionality. The video tells us a story of resilience, sacrifice, and rebirth through a series of evocative and carefully crafted shots. It is a rare accomplishment in today’s world of flashy visuals and empty narratives- a music video with substance and depth that complements the song’s ambience. The production of “Tail End” is the essence of the journey into a world of the unyielding human spirit. This spirit has led the band through the treacherous waters of their home’s turmoil and into the only haven they know, artistic sanctuary. A powerful and intricate ballad that speaks with the humility of a man who has seen the world and remains firmly rooted in his origins. Destroy All Monsters presents an enthralling odyssey of the hero's journey and a tribute to the unwavering human spirit. Set for release in June 2023 via Trash Casual, Destroy All Monsters is poised to leave an indelible mark on the musical landscape. Instagram
