More recently, he opened for NEW WEST at a sold-out show at Toronto's Axis Club (formerly The Mod Club). In his newest single, "HOLLYWOOD," Roz De La Cruz takes us through the bittersweet end of a loving relationship. "It's when you haven't fallen out of love with your partner, but life is calling you both in different directions," notes the Toronto-hailing artist. The song's music video takes us through a deeply emotional storyline that will tug on anyone's heartstrings. Expanding on the single itself, "HOLLYWOOD," there's a sweet early 2000s pop vibe that moves the atmosphere into a deeply passionate and emotional space. Find the music video on YouTube and the single on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Roz De La Cruz. We're so impressed with the level of emotion you've poured into your new single, "HOLLYWOOD." What inspired you to write such a personal song like this? Thank you, I'm glad you liked my newest single. We wrote this in the middle of the pandemic. Our team was doing remote sessions in our own homes using Zoom. And I wanted to have a song that's very uplifting sonically, so one of our producers, Deniz Lim-Sersan, cooked up a beat that has a summer vibe. When we got to writing, the lyrics just decided to take a direction toward a story about a bittersweet ending of a relationship. We then experimented with adding some chants in the intro with some Tagalog ad-libs (Filipino Language) and added a bunch of percussions that would often be heard in traditional Filipino music. What inspired the concept of our music video for "HOLLYWOOD"? What was your experience shooting the music video? Since the song already has a happy vibe with sad-driven lyrics, we wanted to have a simple Visualizer that reflects the story. I didn't want to have a cliché music video with high-octane energy that would pair up with the song; I wanted to play around with the concept of a relationship ending filled with long shots and has this home-video vibe. We shot it in one day, just driving around the city, and were able to tell the story of the couple saying goodbye to each other one last time. What was your goal for the sound and vibe of "HOLLYWOOD"? Did any artists, sounds, or projects influence the song? It's such a contrast from my first single, 'SOUTH', which was much more relaxed, intimate, and R&B. This song was more energetic but still follows that juxtaposed way of writing. We wanted to give an ode to songs from the early 2000s like 'Beautiful' by Pharrell Williams and Snoop Dogg and pop-infused Samba hits like 'Mas Que Nada' by Black-eyed peas & Sergio Mendes. What did you want listeners to feel or think when hearing your single, "HOLLYWOOD"? What experience did you want to give them? I just want the listeners to feel good listening to this song. It's a perfect song to play during a drive on a weekend while singing out the words. What's next for you? Well, I got two singles out already, 'SOUTH' and 'HOLLYWOOD'. I got one more single coming out in the fall called 'Enough is Enough,' so look out for that! This will also be compiled in a 5 song EP called 'WHEN THINGS GO SOUTH' coming out SPRING 2023! • Safehaven Breaks Ground With A Killer Self-Titled Debut Album, 'SAFEHAVEN'

Crashing the scene from Austin, Texas, is the alternative rock band Safehaven with their highly-anticipated self-titled debut album, SAFEHAVEN. You know you're listening to Safehaven when you hear punchy alternative rock with a grungy musk and a sharp punk bite. The band was formed in 2020 by Austin Farley and John Sweeney. Together, they've played several shows and are ready to take the U.S. music scene by storm. They're doing so by releasing a handful of consistently stellar tracks, like their recent cut-throat debut album, SAFEHAVEN. Diving headfirst into this hearty listening experience, we're met with the introductory track, "THRILL ME...," which quickly takes off with the lead vocalists' tight and raspy vocals alongside crunchy and swift guitar riffs that blast into the first verse. If it isn't obvious, this song is packed with thrills, infectious energy, and exceptional musicianship. It's a no-bullshit track that kicks off the record with a bang. Heading into track number two, "UGH...(DEADBEATER)," this striking anthem rips open with a lively alternative/punk instrumental that shifts into a stimulating verse. The loud and proud bass licks paired with Safehaven's overall buzzy and bulldozing instrumentals keep the ears entertained from all angles. This song takes a hard look at flaky, annoying people through a hard rock/grunge lens. Spicing up the speakers is track number three, "SELF CENTERED GOWN," which takes us on a bluesy and sexual joyride with heavy melodies that melt our speakers. The vocalist dissects the prevalence of narcissists and, frankly, tells them to shove it. Safehaven uses this heavy and mid-tempo track to showcase more of a charismatic and whimsical performance, giving the album a dynamic feel only within three tracks. Onto the fourth track, "THUNDERDOPE!," Safehaven crashes our speakers with gritty and heavy alternative rock instrumentals through crunchy guitar riffs and crisp drums that lead into the invigorating verse. It's another bluesy approach but maintains the essence of Safehaven's alternative, grunge, and punk style. There's one thing for sure; we're waiting to get our hands on some dank "THUNDERDOPE!" Leaning into the album's first instrumental with track number five, "FEMME FATALE (LOVESTRUCK)," this song is quite the dynamic listening experience. It's an interlude-type piece that reeks of anticipation, passion, and lust. The beaming guitars, dense bass licks, and tight drums bring all the passion and power we could ask for. Landing on the album's sixth track and halfway point, "JUNKYARD WIZARD MAGIC," Safehaven quickly throws us into one of the most stimulating songs of the album. The instrumentals are so engaging, keeping our ears locked and our toes tapping from top to bottom. We can tell Safehaven put their heart and soul into this killer tune; it reminds you to never give up and keep your next moves on the down low. On track number seven, "ENCHANTED FOREST," Safehaven says a friend was talking about fairies from a Dungeons and Dragons campaign. When someone asked if they had fairy strip clubs, this striking song was born. It's a tightly-wound, sexual, steamy, and exhilarating track that packs all the lust and desire we could imagine. The transitions are seamless, and the band does an excellent job of ramping up the listener's energy. Before we know it, Safehaven takes us back to the rage, power, and grit of Woodstock '99 with track number eight, "SCATFEST." It's an incredibly powerful and ear-ringing hard rock/punk track that bites the speakers with blazing guitars, pounding drums, and men riddled with angst. The song looks at how someone is coping with how someone else tried to ruin their life, and we can hear that hatred and disgust leak through the band's incredible performance stylings. On the ninth track, "BRAIN WORMS," we see a different, primal, and animalistic side of Safehaven that's equally as engaging as it is exciting. The band uses this track to dissect the bloated, over-saturated media we gaze at day after day and its horrible impact on the public. It's a deeply conceptual song that takes us into the fiery hellscape that is Safehaven's instrumentals...and social media. Onto a more familiar track, "TOMORROW'S GONE," this song is a cover of Charlie Megira's dreamy hit. This time around, Safehaven puts a grungy twist on the cover and delivers their own unique interpretation. It's definitely refreshing to hear this softer and more introspective side of Safehaven, and we're sure listeners will appreciate such a trippy and psychedelic spin on this dreamy and deeply emotional classic. Inspired by a trip to Tucson, Arizona, the album's eleventh track, "QUEEN OF MARS," shakes the speakers with growling electric guitar riffs and crashing drums right off the bat. Safehaven's lyrical imagery in this song is top-tier; they have no problem inviting the listener into a completely different world while telling them to shut up and bow down to the "QUEEN OF MARS." It's a head-bopping, chilling rock anthem that's sure to satisfy your musical cravings. Reaching the album's twelfth and final track, "WATCHING THE LIGHTNING," we're met with a bright and beaming electric guitar alongside tight bass licks and punchy drums. Impressively, this was the first track Safehaven ever wrote, and it's one of the most chilling, dynamic, and stimulating rock instrumentals we've ever heard. If you're looking for a track to better understand Safehaven and where it all began, this song is your best bet. It's not every day we stumble upon a band that knows how to satisfy the listener's cravings. If you're ready to take a wild ride into the world of alternative rock, grunge, and punk, buckle up and lock into Safehaven's debut self-titled album, SAFEHAVEN, now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Safehaven. Congratulations on releasing your jam-packed debut album, SAFEHAVEN. When did you first start executing ideas for this album? How long did it take to create the project? It was a gradual process of writing the song and putting it out there as a demo, it took a bit of courage to release the album cause I wasn’t sure how it’ll perform, but it’s doing well so far. Recording the actual songs didn’t take too long; it took about a month from late July to early august, and it flowed very easily. Were there any themes or concepts you wanted to tie into the SAFEHAVEN album? What would you say the album is about? There’s a lot of call-to-action stuff mixed in with betrayal and fantasy. It’s definitely not consistent with one idea, I guess the album is just about how fun the songs are. Could you introduce us to your members and what your creative process looked like in the studio when creating SAFEHAVEN? What was that experience like? Well, me (Austin) and John on bass knew what we had to do. Record the songs and slap them on Spotify. The creative process was trying to add something new to each song that was better than the demos I created by me. It was challenging and was like a revelation at times, but it took a bit of arm sweat and courage to add something new cause I don’t like changing the original song a lot. Which song from SAFEHAVEN means the most to you and why? Why does that song stand out to you? "Queen of Mars" and "Thrill Me." I wrote Mars when I was on a trip to Arizona with my family and saw the barren desert landscape surrounding the highway we were on, and it kinda reminded me of mars a bit. I wrote "Thrill Me"… after I saw one of the most boring acts to play on a stage. I’m not gonna say who, but take my word for it, they’re not acrobats, haha. I wrote that song out of frustration and to say, “Give me a great show cause that’s what I want!” It’s always my number 1 priority to give the best show to the best of Safehaven’s ability, and it’s working out great. What was your favorite part about creating the SAFEHAVEN album? What moments or experiences did you appreciate most? My favorite part is when John could call me asking if the bass track he recorded was ok. "Enchanted Forrest" stuck out to me cause when I played it, the bass was thick and heavy on this specific song. I was like, “holy shit, that’s nasty; I love it!” Check out our debut album on Spotify! • Kjersti Long Is Done With The “Boys In Jersey”

Coming in hot from Clinton, New Jersey, is the radical pop-rock recording artist and singer-songwriter Kjersti Long with her latest expressive music video for "Boys In Jersey." At the tender age of 15, Kjersti Long has racked thousands of streams and views through her electrifying voice that sparks memories of Ann Wilson and Janis Joplin, but with major similarities to modern acts like Olivia Rodrigo and Demi Lovato. She's deeply inspired by using her love for music to create emotional bonds with all listeners. "At 15, I feel so 'meh' about boys in general," Long expresses about her new music video for "Boys In Jersey." On the hunt to find the Leo to her Kate and the match to her flame, Kjersti Long takes us through the stereotypical Jersey boy scene with shots of her band rocking out over the New York City skyline. Expanding on the new music video for "Boys In Jersey," Kjersti Long has no problem taking us through light-hearted humor while blending it with the realities of modern dating. Strolling the city with her girls, they stumble upon the cat-calling trust-fund-baby Jersey boys who she can't help but through a few jabs at. "Cat callin' while they're bumpin' Drake, go have another protein shake," she bluntly sings. The video continues to shower us with playful yet relatable scenes of boys trying to get their attention by pulling up beside their car while she wonders if she'll ever meet her knight in shining armor. The visuals end with a bang as Kjersti Long and her girls show the boys how it's done, rocking away in front of New York City without a care in the world. Lift your spirits and forget the wannabes with the help of Kjersti Long's new single and music video for "Boys In Jersey," find the music video on YouTube and the single on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Kjersti Long. We love the relatable and fun-loving vibe of your new single and music video for "Boys In Jersey." What experiences with the "Boys In Jersey" inspired you to create this anthemic single? Everybody’s aware of the stereotypes of boys, especially in high school. I can’t say that I’ve had one specific experience that prompted writing this song. It was more just the annoyance of having to deal with boys in a group setting where they are full-on embracing the stereotype. Girls can be the same way. Maybe that will be my next song. What was your vision for the "Boys In Jersey" music video? What did you want to portray and get across to viewers? The vision for the music video was to show the different stereotypes that I see in high school boys. How girls want attention from boys, but when boys give them attention, it’s not the attention that they want. It also was just a fun, creative way to express the annoyance felt by girls of this age. How did you want viewers to react and feel when watching the music video for "Boys In Jersey?" What sort of visual experience did you want to give them? I want them to have a good time watching it. I feel like my job as an artist is to give them the art so they can interpret it in whatever way impacts them. I definitely want them to be like, “yeah, I get that; that’s so true.” On a more personal note, do you have any words of advice for aspiring teenage artists trying to make themselves known? What have you learned from your experience? Yes, I do. Have you ever heard the quote, "If you enjoy your job, it won't feel like work?" I have the opposite philosophy. If you enjoy your job, it will still sometimes feel like work because it is work, but if you're having fun, then it doesn't really matter whether it's work or not. It's fun, so keep it up! In all seriousness, though, just keep putting yourself out there. Don’t pass on opportunities. You never know which ones will propel you forward. What can listeners anticipate hearing next? Lots of great music! We've got some more singles and an EP coming out, so stay tuned! Anyone can follow me on tiktok and instagram @kjersti.long to get updates, and they can also stream my music on all platforms under Kjersti Long. • Experience Ethereal Alt-Pop In Adam Noviello’s “Another You”

Acclaimed actor and singer-songwriter Adam Noviello sinks into memories with their passionate single, "Another You," from their debut EP, Tears, Drugs & Voicemails. No stranger to the stage, Adam Noviello has played vital roles and appeared in a handful of theatrical performances like Funny Girl, Matilda The Musical, and more recently, the title role in The Who's rock opera Tommy. Seamlessly transitioning into releasing their own music, Adam Noviello is exploring this creative outlet with releases like their debut EP, Tears, Drugs & Voicemails. "For as long as I can remember, I have experimented with my gender expression through fashion and my work," notes the recording artist. They continue to explore musical boundaries through songs like "Another You" off their debut EP. The song has already hit the iTunes Pop Chart Top 10 and reached #7 on the Australian Independent Record Labels Association Chart. This fluid and euphoric single kicks off with a steady pop beat and moody, tender synths that roam the background. Adam Noviello's breathy and melodic vocals bring such depth and passion as they explore past memories with someone who blinded them with love. What's interesting about this song is how we get to see a whole different side of Adam Noviello's creative artistry. The unique production is so calming yet engaging; the many gentle transitions keep our ears locked into this passionate, emotional, and dynamic listening experience. It's one of those end-of-summer songs that lets you reflect on memories made, those who've impacted us, and what's to come. Do yourself a favor and hit play on Adam Noviello's sweet-sounding single, "Another You," from their debut EP, Tears, Drugs & Voicemails, now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Adam Noviello. We love the smooth and moody atmosphere you've set in your recent single, "Another You." What was your source of inspiration for this emotional piece? This song is actually a reunion story between two dear friends of mine. They had split up for a time, and one day my friend Nate said that he'd planned to meet up with Lorna. He was riddled with anxiety about what this meeting meant. Were they going to get back together? Would they know from seeing each other that they'd made the right decision?! We tried to encapsulate Nate's worries in the song, but also his deep love for Lorna. They are now happily married with three kids, and I am fortunate to call one of them my goddaughter! What led you to branch out and explore moody alternative pop with "Another You?" Do you often explore different production stylings and sounds? I am always looking to experiment with sounds and styles, I believe it's the beauty of being creative. My first single, 'Heretic', has such an anthemic dance floor energy, so I wanted to strip it back a little with the follow-up. It still has a vibe to it, but it was important to tell my audience that I can get real and open my heart. 'Another You' does that. It still lives very comfortably in my EP, but playing with these more alternative sounds and odd phrasing keeps it very fresh and unique. What did you want the listener to pick up on or take away from "Another You?" What was your goal with this song? First and foremost, I wanted to put out a lovely song that people vibe and connect with. Pure and simple. But I believe this story of first love and uncertainty in relationships is very universal, so hopefully, people feel themselves in the lyrics. It's a gorgeous moment of musical escapism, and I am so happy with how it's been received, having charted in the Top 10 on the iTunes Pop Chart. Not to brag! How does "Another You" relate to the overall theme or concept within your debut EP, Tears, Drugs & Voicemails? This is one of the few songs on the EP that fits into both the "Tears" and the "Drugs" categories! The overall concept of the EP is a collection of songs you can be sad to and songs you can party to. ''Another You" fits beautifully into the "Tears" category with its raw honesty and vulnerability, but also the 3 am low-fi alt-pop party vibes. What's next for you? If I told you, I'd be ruining the surprises! But since the release of 'Tears, Drugs & Voicemails,' we are looking at a new single or two, plus more LIVE shows. Stay tuned! Instagram Facebook

  • Dominic DeLaney’s Sophomore Album Is Here “For Life”

Blazing his way through the scene from Lake Worth, Florida, is a singer-songwriter and alternative-punk recording artist Dominic DeLaney with his expressive sophomore album, For Life. Dominic DeLaney's broad musical style comprises sounds of punk, alternative, and a dash of acoustic alongside folk-like storytelling. It's expansive, to say the least, and fans from Chicago to Denver have all raved about the recording artist's thrilling live performances and ability to keep the audience engaged. Bringing that same energy and grit is Dominic DeLaney's latest 10-track album entitled For Life, a gripping and relatable tale that takes us into the Florida-based artist's deepest emotions. The album begins with the soft and sweet intro track, "Intro," brightly opening with Dominic DeLaney's gentle acoustic guitar and his playful vocal melodies. There's a wholesome DIY feel to this song, almost as if it was recorded on a cellphone. If anything, it opens the record on a deeply personal note while Dominic DeLaney invites us to the show that dissects his many highs and lows. Moving into the album's second and title track, "For Life," Dominic DeLaney kicks things up a notch with his alternative-rock instrumentals alongside his expressive punk-esque vocals. This foot stomper of a track sees Dominic DeLaney recalling past mistakes and trying to shake them off while his scorching hot instrumentals blaze through the track with bursts of infectious energy. The album's third track, "Hopeless," maintains that same energy while shifting into a more melodic alternative sound. Dominic DeLaney's raspy and robust vocals keep the spirit alive while he sings of wandering the streets in search of a source of life and energy. It's an incredibly emotional yet stimulating song that's reminiscent of the attitude and angst of Blink-182. Onto the fourth track, "Haunted Halls," Dominic DeLaney also released an accompanying music video that sees him sitting within an old house's haunted walls, strumming his guitar and expressing his many efforts to stay afloat. Although DeLaney's lyrics are profoundly emotional, there's an upbeat vibe to both the song and music video, thanks to warm background vocals, lively instrumentals, and his natural charisma. Reaching the album's fifth song and the halfway point, "Anything/Anyway," Dominic DeLaney takes us into an ear-pleasing and soul-soothing alternative-rock instrumental that drifts into the mellow first verse. His relatable lyrics about the starving artist and their many efforts to make their dreams a reality help listeners get to know Dominic DeLaney on a much deeper level. Diving into track number six, "Fuck Florida," we can already tell this song will be a blazing anthem full of angst and emotion about DeLaney's time in the sunshine state. He effortlessly intertwines his life experiences into the album, and this cathartic track is no exception. It's a solid addition to the album's concept and showcases another personal aspect of the Florida-based artist. Slowing things down is track number seven, "The Drown," which greets our ears with melancholy acoustic guitar picking and Dominic DeLaney's distinct, soft vocals. While he begins vocalizing the sensations of "The Drown" and feeling down and out, DeLaney locks in the listener's attention with his many instrumental transitions and engaging performance stylings. This gripping banger is another cathartic experience we highly recommend. Kicking things into gear on the eighth track, "Absent Friends," Dominic DeLaney throws us into a beaming and brilliant punk-rock atmosphere with punchy drums, vibrant electric guitars, and his powerful vocals. Dominic DeLaney's introspective lyrics grab the listener with all the emotion and passion we could ask for while reminding us that it's okay not to be okay. This stellar single is perhaps one of our favorite tracks on the album. Reaching track number nine, "Borders," Dominic DeLaney keeps the energy high and mighty while his punchy rock instrumentals blaze into the first verse. This adrenaline-packed single serves up a hot plate of energy and emotion, something we're quite familiar with after such a dynamic, jam-packed album. This is another kickass track that doesn't beat around the bushes but hits you over the head with life's harsh realities and battles. Hitting play on the album's final and tenth track, "Anything/Anyway (Alternate)," Dominic DeLaney dives into a different rendition of the project's fifth track. If there's anything we admire about Dominic DeLaney, it's his dedication to remaining adventurous and explorative as an artist, and this outro track is no exception. It helps listeners understand his complex creative process and his many ideas about which direction to take a song. If you're looking for a dynamic, gripping, and emotional listening experience that you'll never forget, don't miss out on Dominic DeLaney's hearty sophomore album, For Life, available on all digital streaming platforms on September 16. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Ella Hartt. We genuinely appreciate such an uplifting and feel-good piece like "The Story You Tell Yourself." What made you want to write a song that inspires the listener and reminds them of their worth? Thank you! I had the privilege of writing “The Story You Tell Yourself” with my good friend and co-writer Alex Hughes during the pandemic. While social media has many positive advantages, we were talking about the impact it can have on our self-worth. Sometimes social media makes us feel like we have to ‘have it all together or that our photos have to be ‘perfect’ to post. We can be hard on ourselves, but I want everyone to believe the best about themselves and their lives! Did you work alongside any musicians or producers when crafting "The Story You Tell Yourself?" Who helped bring the song into existence? Yes! The Story You Tell Yourself was written and recorded entirely remotely! After writing the song with Canadian country artist and songwriter Alex Hughes, I worked with Nashville Producer Elysse Yulo and an amazing team of musicians. Alex Hughes sang the backup vocals, Dan Harrison played guitar and banjo, Daniel Kozlowski played drums, Elysse Yulo played keys, and Adam Sickler mixed and mastered the track. Did any genres, sounds, or artists have an influence on the sound and vibe of "The Story You Tell Yourself?" I definitely wanted “The Story You Tell Yourself” to be a mix between pop and country. I made a playlist of songs that inspired me, including Katy Perry’s “Roar." That song is an anthem and one that everyone can sing along to! I wanted my song to be catchy and memorable like that! Do you usually write songs that empower and inspire the listener, similar to "The Story You Tell Yourself"? Is this songwriting approach something you're familiar with? I write a variety of songs! Some are about love or breakups, some have unusual titles or are faith-based, while others are uplifting and embrace female empowerment. What I write about depends on how my co-writers and I are feeling that day! I try to create music that brings other people joy and makes them feel good regardless of the situation they’re in! What's next for you? I’m excited to release my new music video for “The Story You Tell Yourself” and share it with everyone! In September, I’ll be heading to Calgary, AB, for Canadian Country Music Association® (CCMA)’s Country Music Week! I’m excited to reconnect with friends and celebrate country music! Welcome back to BuzzMusic, Aaron Andreu, and congratulations on your latest single, "Hum." How would you describe that moment you describe in "Hum?" Like being afraid to wake from the most exquisite dream of a lifetime What's the message you're hoping people take away from "Hum?" I’d say to just let go of preconceived notions when it comes to falling in love. How would you describe your creative process when writing songs? It all happens rather suddenly. Generally, I never sit down and say, “ok, I’m gonna write a song”. It will almost always start with a feeling that begins to verbalize itself, and THEN I’ll reach for the guitar and begin to set it to music. What aspects of yourself are you most inspired by, and how have they changed with every song you release? Gosh, this is a deep question! I guess I’d have to say my boldness and willingness to be vulnerable. To write down your innermost thoughts, feelings and experiences are cathartic, but to then ACTUALLY share them in a poetic way with whoever will listen takes a certain fearlessness that I’m just now beginning to appreciate about myself. With each song, I become bolder and thus more vulnerable .. and I like that. What's next for you? More music. More collaborative work. More life. Instagram
