  • The Drood Releases Ethereal, Shakespeare Inspired Single, “It Must Needs Wither”

Hailing from Denver, Colorado, The Drood combines the creative forces of Nathan Jamiel (Vocals, Electric Guitar, Keyboards) and Daniel Watts (Drums, Keys). This powerful duo infuses aspects of Electronic-Rock, Post-Rock, Psychedelic, Shoegaze, and Industrial to form their mesmerizing and otherworldly sound. They bring an intensity to their recordings as well as their live performances, transporting listeners to another dimension. This experimental group creates similar sonic realms to bands such as The Legendary Pink Dots (who they have opened for), Hawkwind, and Saint Vitus. In their latest release, “It Must Needs Wither,” The Drood draws inspiration from Shakespeare’s Othello, creating a grief-stricken aural effigy that reflects upon the darkness and loss that has occurred throughout the last few years of the global pandemic. The intricate and complex single was recorded in Lafayette, CO, in September 2021, initially in live, improvised takes, fully capturing the raw emotion of the song for the listener. Throughout “It Must Needs Wither,” The Drood has created a metaphysical, dream-like atmosphere for the listener to sink into. They contrast this soundscape with dark, heavier elements that pull you in, adding to the melancholic, sonically rich environment. Droning synths and guitars meet powerful, booming percussive elements. Jamiel’s warm, layered vocals cry out throughout the track, sinking perfectly into the thick backing the duo has crafted. Prepare to be swept away into the dark, intense, dream-like land The Drood have created with their latest release, “It Must Needs Wither,” available on all streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic The Drood. We are so happy you could join us today! As we entered into your world with "Psychic Institute," we could sense it was really well thought out. How long did it take to complete this song, and how was it like creating it? NATHAN: Thanks for having us! I started writing this song way back in February of 2021, so over a year? It changed a lot along the way. It started as a dance song, but as I added bass and guitar, more and more I wanted to “take the piss” out of it a little. Once in Daniel’s hands it totally transformed into something else as he re-engineered it and added drums and more textures. We performed it live (pre-release) on a local Colorado radio station KGNU, which went great! But after that show I realized it needed more gritty harmonics on the guitar. In fact we had it mastered twice due to wanting to flesh it out further. The song "Psychic Institute" is so versatile and so unique, you mentioned that it's a cautionary tale. Could you elaborate on that statement? NATHAN: I had a couple of people close to me die during the time this song was created. I was trying to console myself by writing a self-indulgent dance song, and thought “I can write something upbeat and positive!” which ultimately led to an emotional spiral as I was not being honest, like I was participating in some sort of toxic positivity. I was forcing some false sentimental narrative to comfort myself. That then organically became the message of the song. If you force a positive narrative rooted in sentimentality, you’re most likely not facing the truth and also projecting a superficiality which is easily seen through. Gotta be miserable sometimes to get to a better place. Don’t fake it. As a collective, what advice would you give to the younger artist wanting to form a successful yet confident band? NATHAN: DON’T STOP. Respectively, Daniel and I have been making music since we were teenagers. Played with lots of people and lots of bands, most of whom no longer make music or art. Stay in touch with those people because inevitably they will sell you their gear on the cheap as it is just “taking up space”. Also, abandon ideas of fame. Make EXACTLY what YOU want to hear. If you catch yourself making music or art with the intent of appealing to a specific audience it might be time to re-evaluate why you’re making music. Be selfish, make the music that appeals to you and if you mean it other people will sense that and maybe appreciate it. But the goal shouldn’t be for them to appreciate it. As "Psychic Institute" flows through our speakers, we would like to know your future plans for the song and how you plan to show it off to the rest of the world? NATHAN: We are VERY excited for the next few releases which will be coming out over the course of 2022 as singles. We’ve been filming some strange stuff to accompany the songs. Also we have a very special show upcoming in November which we’ll be announcing soon! Instagram Twitter

  • Bruce Sudano Sings A Beautiful, “Ode To a Nightingale”

Showering us with musical and visual beauty is singer-songwriter and recording artist Bruce Sudano with his latest single and music video, "Ode To a Nightingale." One could compare Bruce Sudano's music to the song of a Nightingale, tranquil, melodic, and beautiful. He's spent his musical past writing hit songs for Donna Summer, Michael Jackson, and Dolly Parton. When the pandemic struck, Sudano used it as inspiration to fuel his creative vision and reach for greatness once more. Bruce Sudano's latest single, "Ode To a Nightingale," shows us a different side of his artistry, A harmonious blend of guitar strums, bumping drums, and bright maraca shakers. The song's music video is another introspective aspect that sees Sudano entering a new era of creativity. The music video for "Ode To a Nightingale" begins with Bruce Sudano basking in LED colors and serenading the camera with his passionate vocals. As the video continues, we see rotating abstract visual effects with punchy colors and warping shapes, perhaps representing that Sudano is going through some kind of shift and transformation. We love the free-spirited feel of this single, and the reflective music video perfectly enhances that creative approach. There's also a profoundly calming aspect of this music video that keeps our eyes hooked on the glossy abstract shapes while Sudano serenades us with the utmost emotion. While Bruce Sudano keeps his cool and maintains his confidence and poise throughout the music video, he picks up the energy towards the outro while an array of different colors set the introspective mood for one hell of a visual experience. Take a trip into the shimmering world of Bruce Sudano with his latest music video for "Ode To a Nightingale," now available on YouTube. Welcome to BuzzMusic Bruce Sudano, and congratulations on your new single, "Ode To a Nightengale." What led you to create this reflective and soothing piece? It was an odd combination of things that led to its birth. The end of the Trump administration, the poetry of Pier Paolo Pasolini, and late nights in my studio staring out the window into the darkness listening to the night birds sing. How does the single "Ode To a Nightingale" represent you? How can new listeners get to know you better through this piece? It represents me in a few ways. First of all, there’s an emphasis on poetry and storytelling. It possesses subtlety but the message is urgent. It has this underlying rhythm that just carries you, and sonically it’s mature while at the same time modern. It has warmth with an edge. These are the kind of elements I like to incorporate into my music. Who helped you create those neat visual effects for the "Ode To a Nightingale" music video?" Why did you want to give the video this unique modern edge? The video was directed by Italian visual artist Furio Ganz with added digital effects by Claudio Bellini. Whenever I do a video, I try to find creative people who see the song from a different perspective while at the same time enlarging its inherent feeling and meaning. Because of the contemporary message of the song, I felt it warranted imagery that was of the moment as well. What visual experience did you want to offer viewers with the music video for "Ode To a Nightingale?" What was your goal? The goal was to engage the viewer with a performance piece shaded by diverse colors and enhanced by the most curious digital imagery. The magic then happens in the balancing of those elements so that the song itself is what gets amplified. What's next for you? Right now I’m in a moment of assessing what is next. I’ve just come off a six-week tour which was a lot of fun but intense. So I need to let the dust settle for a minute, and I’m sure before too long, my imagination will kick back in. I expect it will be more songwriting, recording, and playing live shows, mixed in with a healthy dose of family time, but then again, you never know. Instagram Facebook

  • Sitting Down With Michael B. Whit

Welcome to BuzzMusic Michael. We appreciate you taking the time to chat today. We are loving your latest release, "40 Acres," and hear you have a new one on the way. Fill us in - we want the scoop - what can we expect? Hey! That's so awesome. Thank you for loving "40 Acres Down" and for this opportunity. I didn't know what kind of response I would get upon releasing that song, so I'm always appreciative when people tell me that they are rocking with it. I'm super excited about the new music that's on the way; I've got a hot little Country, Mississippi Delta-style jam coming to your ears titled "Taking The Dog," featuring my bro Asher Cataldo from down in Wartrace, TN. I've had friends that have experienced this, so It's real, it's petty, it's really petty. You will laugh and jam at the same time. How did you find the process of creating this single, and are there any new things you've learned throughout that time? "Someone told me that Country Music has many love songs but hardly any to make love to, so I thought, well, if that's true, then I'd like to attempt to create one that helps even the score. "40 Acres Down" sparked from me sitting in the studio wondering what it would sound like if The Artist formerly known as Prince made country music or collaborated with Blake Jason Aldean. I got excited when I connected the dots, if you listen to some Prince records and actually get past how outstanding the sonics are, you will notice that he Yodels often in his vocal riffs. So like a mad scientist, I merged all that Linn Drum greatness in with that Aldean-like sultry twang, and the rest was a chemical explosion that turned into "40 Acres" that some call the "30 Shades of Country," lol. I've learned that you can uncover some beautiful new art when you start splashing paint. How do you balance life between the music and your other obligations with the world still being in and out of lockdown restrictions? God, Family, and Business, in that order. That's my motto; I know that trusting the first one will instruct, guide, and help me keep family life together while ordering my steps to help me navigate the business in these challenging times. If he's the center, then it's all balanced. However, if we want to be more practical, having a schedule and the discipline to stick to it helps in every way. I'm an early riser, too, so that helps get stuff done, like writing a song, feeding the horses, and checking emails are usually things done early to still have the rest of your day. I've been using the internet to maximize my reach with music and save quality time for my family & my horses. Virtual shows when venues were shut down were game-changers. I'm looking forward to a time when the world can get back to normal, but if this is the new normal, I have faith that we will learn to adapt and make it the best spinning rock it can be. We hear you have a new release on the way, 'Taking the Dog' What can you tell us about the new release - we want the scoop! First, let me say this song is not your typical heartbreak country song; it's a comedic, satirical breakup song. It's real because folks act petty when they always break up. None of us is above trying to repo all the stuff we've contributed to the relationship. Most of us have done it at some point. It's funny because, in this song, all we could get our hands on before getting the boot was the pooch. If we were riding in the car with you - who would be coming through your speakers? I'm all over the place with the aux cable, lol. Hunter Hayes, Brandy, Morgan Wallen, Luke Combs, Keith Urban, Seth Ennis, Rissi Palmer, Brooks and Dunn, Chris Ardoin (Zydeco), and some P.J Morton all have priority on my playlist. We also heard you are going to be performing somewhere really cool - share the details! Yeah, catch me at the NASCAR sprint cup with Old Dominion, Nelly, Cole Swindell, and Jimmie Allen in St. Louis Pre-Race on June 5th, and since my birthday is June 6th, bring me your best cake. What's up next for you? After this next single release, we will do the radio promo tour to support it and continue to build our brand with some big shows, all while we're locking down my EP "Before September," that's set to release on the last day of August (get it) lol. • Emily Clair Shines Bright in the Country-Pop Light

Canadian country artist Emily Clair is celebrating the release of her new single, "Kiss Strangers." The first single released from her first full-length album, "Stealing Hearts," "Kiss Strangers," is also new to Canadian country radio. Co-written by Emily Clair and Bobbi Smith, Emily states, "In country music, women are often presented as dwelling on past relationships by drowning in a box of ice cream or a bottle of wine. I wanted to break away from that perception and offer a fresh take on the post-relationship mindset." Growing up in Ajax, Ontario but now based in Greater Napanee, the bold artistry behind "Kiss Strangers" is poised to usher in a new chapter for Emily Clair as she embraces the early recording stages of her forthcoming album. Leading us into this exquisite creation approaching a new narrative, Emily Clair provides an unapologetic persona as she brings us "Kiss Strangers." Emanating carefully crafted wording that has us tapping into the upbeat dynamic of Country music, we admire the pop twist that accompanies lyrical motifs we relate to. With production handled by her long-time collaborator Shawn Moore, we hear how his techniques mesh with Emily Clair's pop styling for a more organic feel to how the instrumentation and smoldering croon coincide. Brilliance comes from the ease and grace Emily Clair etches into each musical component we hear. Getting us amped up for the artistic depth she explores in her forthcoming album, "Kiss Strangers," has us leading on the right foot as compelling country-pop anthems go. Making the switch from her prominent heartfelt ballads and leaving it all on the table as she gives us a peek of edge and glistening charisma, this new side of Emily Clair is one we stand by. Wanting her audience to feel uplifted, understood, and heard after taking in "Kiss Strangers," we see Emily Clair's country music foundation gets that much more relatable. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Emily Clair, and congratulations on the release of your latest single, "Kiss Strangers." We love this new approach that you're taking into your artistry! What compelled you to experiment with this route of your sound? Thanks so much, I'm so glad that you love my new tune! After writing “Kiss Strangers”, I knew that it brought out an upbeat, fun, and sassy side of me as an artist. I generally release meaningful, heartfelt songs but I was determined to write something a little more out of my comfort zone so that I could show how diverse I can be with my music. What was it like working with Bobbi Smith and Shawn Moore to bring this vision to life? I wrote “Kiss Strangers” with Bobbi Smith and David Borys, and Shawn Moore produced the song. Writing with Bobbi and David is always a great experience. We've written two other songs since, and each time we write together, it always feels so natural. Bringing this song to life went really smoothly. Usually, a song changes in so many ways when you're in the studio creating, but this song turned out exactly the way I had envisioned. We recorded the instrumentals at Catherine North Studios in Hamilton, ON, and working in that recording studio always feels so magical. In your own words, what does your audience have to look forward to with your forthcoming album release? My audience can look forward to an album that they can really connect with lyrically. An honest story and music that truly means something has always been so important to me as a writer and artist, and that is why I'll be calling the album "Stealing Hearts." It will be a collection of my favorite songs that I have written over the past few years, whether it makes you cry, or makes you smile I truly hope that these songs steal your heart. How does your growth into this new sound feel to you? How has the process been, and do you think it's beneficial for where you want to go as an artist? I wouldn't say that “Kiss Strangers” is exactly my "new sound." I think that it just shows how diverse I can be as an artist and that's beneficial. I still want to stay honest with myself and in the music that I'm creating. I think that this single just shows that I can still be me, even if I'm adding a modern touch to my sound. What's next for you? I am currently working toward completing all ten songs on “Stealing Hearts”, and I can't wait to slowly unravel the creative process and share it with you! Instagram Facebook

As SM Tone jumps into the first verse, he lifts the listener with bars that encourage us to forget the past and create the life we always wanted. Fellow rapper Kev Swavé hops onto the song's second first with his charismatic stylings and rhythmic bars that expand on a similar inspiring message. We truly appreciate this track's playful and uplifting feel; it's the perfect dose of motivation. Reaching the interlude, "Free Da Lep Interlude," SM Tone gives a shoutout to the one and only Soufside Mafia. He later mentions how the boys came from nothing and were eating crumbs, but now they're living lavish and eating at the big table. This interlude perfectly reflects the album's themes of growth and navigating through life's journey's only to come out on top. Onto the album's fifth track and mid-way point, "PTSD," this tune kicks off with a sweet and melodic piano melody alongside bright vocal samples that melt into the bouncy and upbeat drums. He later jumps into an energetic and passionate rap that shows us a different side of SM Tone's creative inspirations and vulnerable songwriting. This track is so refreshing; it's the perfect modern-day ballad wrapped in a hip-hop blanket. SM Tone brings the soul and energy back in the groovy seventh track, "Keep Grinding." As the smooth and atmospheric production warmly opens the song, SM Tone moves into the drum-heavy verse and tackles themes about grinding until he can't grind anymore. He emphasizes that past mistakes only prepare you for the success you're destined to achieve with a little hard work, dedication, and maybe some talent. We love this inspirational track; it's definitely one of our favorites on the album. Turning up the "Survival Instincts" is the album's powerful eighth track, kicking off with a neat drum arrangement and sparkling keyboard melodies. As SM Tone's bright bars start shining in the first verse, he covers themes of trying to survive through life's many painful moments. In true SM Tone fashion, he encourages us to believe in ourselves and work through those times. Featured rapper Teflon Quan jumps on the second verse with melodic bars that touch on wishing figures onto his boys and are unapologetic about his grind, moves, and success. Landing on the album's ninth and outro track, "Keep Going," this soulful and melodic tune opens with uplifting and feel-good production. As SM Tone reminds us to "Keep Going" and how the show must go on, he pummels his verse with that familiar energy we've come to love. Rapper Kev Swavé returns for the track's second verse that blasts us with rhythm and personal themes like only giving his time to those who are worth it while keeping it real no matter what. This was such an impressive way to close the record, and we admire how SM Tone kept us inspired throughout the entire experience. For a boost of energy, motivation, or even some feel-good hip-hop, find it all in SM Tone's latest album, 'Can't Fire A Boss,' now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, SM Tone. You've left us feeling motivated to chase our dreams after listening to your new album, 'Can't Fire A Boss.' What inspired you to create this personal and inspirational album? Wassup BuzzMusic, it’s a pleasure as always. The main inspiration behind this album was basically my life and some of the unfortunate circumstances and situations I had to deal with on my journey to become who I am today. And it hopefully could show people no matter how bad it is right now, as long as you believe and invest in yourself that, it’ll always get better. Could you tell us more about your group Soufside Mafia? Did other members help you create your new album, 'Can't Fire A Boss?' Soufside Mafia is an independent record label based out of East Point, Ga, that I founded in 2019. We currently have eight artists on the label, me being included, and we do everything in-house from Studio & Engineering, Mix & Mastering, Photography, Videography, Cover Art & Custom Merchandise, so we’re basically a one-stop-shop. & Yes, I have three features on the album from Kev Swavè, Teflon Quan & our newest artist De’. KFP Ken did Mix & Mastering on a few songs on the album as well. Which track from 'Can't Fire A Boss' is the most personal to you and why? The most personal track on the album to me would have to be Young & Dumb because I express regrets and reflect on lost friendships and past traumas, all put together so beautifully. That’s why I had to make it the second track on the album. Not going to say too much cause y’all gotta go listen to completely understand. Shout out to the producer Relly Made. What was your favorite part about creating the album 'Can't Fire A Boss?' What experiences did you appreciate most? I actually enjoy the whole process, especially since I’m so hands-on with everything. But if I had to choose one, it would have to be writing the treatments and shooting the music videos for the songs. I’m in the process of making an eight-part series that links the videos together so the world can better understand SM Tone. Part 1 is out now exclusively on the Soufside Mafia YouTube channel. Why is helping people reach their full potential so important to you? Do you feel the themes within 'Can't Fire A Boss' help listeners do that? Helping people reach their full potential is important to me because growing up, I was always searching for positive guidance in the hood which I feel like I never fully found, so I because that guidance for my hood. I built my business with the vision of helping as many people as people see their own potential, and that’s why my first album was called “Anything Is Possible.”Yea, I feel like the album should inspire people to believe in themselves more and show how powerful good investments are. But if anything, I would just want people to know that it’s not about how you start but about it’s who you become on the journey. Instagram

  • Kelly Phoenix Makes “No Mistake,” With His Latest Choice In Song Release

If you've been craving a diverse-sounding Alt/Rock experience, similar to that of the older days, then Kelly Phoenix and his work are where you should immerse yourself. The purpose of multi-genre artist Kelly Phoenix and his music is to craft stories full of heartbreak, varying outlooks on life, solitude, self-respect, survival, and spirituality. He does this so that his audience can understand the true depth of his perspective on life itself, especially when it comes to the conditions of the human being. Naturally, Kelly Phoenix listeners get an authentic representation of the artist this way and receive a real look into his artistic soul. The latest offering from Kelly Phoenix has been given the title "No Mistake." The track introduces itself to listeners with an eclectic blend of alternative-based melodies that are strongly shaped by electric riffs, hypnotic synth blends, and old-school vocal articulations. An almost otherworldly presence is brought with the chosen underlying melody, which ties in nicely to the ominous presence that the track potently possesses. The edgy and gritty electric guitar solo brings sweet memories for true Alt/Rock listeners and provides a nice break in the song for listeners to bask in some pure talent. "No Mistake" is rich in melancholy, and there is a world of complexity behind its lyricism. Make sure not to mistake mindlessly tuning in, as the song provides an experience that requires purposeful attention from its listeners. All in all, Kelly Phoenix granted his audience a thick and intense Alt/Rock-inspired song that brought on many dreamlike moments with its diverse combination of genre tones. A warm welcome to BuzzMusic, Kelly Phoenix. Let's get right into chatting about your single, "No Mistake." Can you elaborate on the chosen title for this track and the meaning behind its name? "No Mistake" is a title that came quite naturally to me as I was working on the tune. While it isn't mentioned repetitively throughout the song, the title encapsulates the harsh feeling of facing your fate with determination while still suffering from it. The idea was to express a certain sense of hopelessness in walking away from a situation that is no longer serving you as hard and painful as it can be. The idea of showcasing an internal struggle while convincing yourself that it is the right thing to do was an interesting concept to me. Were you hoping there was a specific subset of people that "No Mistake" resonated with most? I feel like anyone who has been in a similar situation where they thought they had found true love but realized that it was all an illusion and felt held back instead of elevated should find a sense of identification with this track. There is a sense of urgency to release all sorts of deeply rooted pains and traumas to finally spread wings that have been held down for too long and become your true self. In the extended version coming out on the 20th of this month, you can hear the idea of breaking chains from the past in an operatic and cinematic outro I'm very proud of. With all its varieties in genre elements, can you describe the purpose behind including so many diverse-sounding aspects in your song? Every song I make has a diverse blend of genres. Here it was, 80's rock and New Wave mixed with alternative rock, as well as some soul elements. I don't believe in labels, colors, or genres when it comes to music. I grew up listening to music that unifies all types of crowds, and that is what I want to achieve with my art. I want to speak to all sorts of demographics, age ranges, and audiences. In all my music you will find different pieces of me that will hopefully connect to a wide variety of people. Your upcoming solo project, "Resurrection" is set to debut this summer. Can your audience expect this art piece to consist of similar tones to that in "No Mistake," including the projected narrative? People can expect to find a wide variety of genres in my upcoming album. Every song has its own feel even though they connect well together. Some are country-inspired, pop-rock, goth-pop, soul, or 70s rock-inspired. There is a very clear and specific journey or evolution throughout the album. The main theme of the record is transformation, but I tap into a lot of topics that relate to becoming your true self out of pain and loneliness, as unfortunate as it sounds. What's next for you? I have my second single, "Black Magic Spell," coming out in June. We already shot the video for it, and I can't wait to share it. We put our hearts and souls into making sure we would create a piece that is a mini-movie of sorts. I have a lot of ideas for music videos but nothing I can share right now. I also have a show at Harvard & Stone on July 10 that I'm currently prepping. I cannot wait to get back on stage and give people something unique. Give them a peek into my heart and soul. • If You're Looking For “Trouble,” Get Your Fix With Meresha’s New Music Video

Hailing from South Florida, the self-proclaimed alien pop recording artist and singer-songwriter Meresha is looking for some "Trouble" in her latest music video. Meresha may come from South Florida, but she's a true global citizen that makes an effort to connect with worldwide listeners through each release. Her sound could be described as part tropical, part Euro-electronic, part contemporary, and part extraterrestrial. Although her music career has been vastly successful, Meresha still likes to go against the grain and get up to no good. Viewers can catch Meresha getting into some "Trouble" in her latest music video. The song itself is a groovy and upbeat pop banger that has us looking for the dancefloor, and the music video takes us there. Jumping into the music video for "Trouble," we see Meresha roaming Miami's Little Haiti, surrounded by fishnets and ready for something exciting. As she drops a buck into a man's cup, he slyly hands her a card that reads, "Looking for some trouble?" As a handsome, devilish man sweeps her away, they reach a dark and bumping Miami club packed with music, LED lights, and sensual dance moves. Meresha doesn't seem to care what she's gotten herself into. While her catchy melodies and suggestive lyrics roam the background, Meresha bumps and grinds her way to the next source of stimulation. Puffing on a cigarette, we switch to scenes of Meresha riding through Miami on her bicycle, only to realize that trouble was existing in her imagination all along. Whatever "Trouble" Meresha was up to in her latest music video; we want in. Join the party and catch Meresha's music video for "Trouble" on YouTube. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Meresha. After watching your new music video, we definitely want to get into some "Trouble." What inspired the groovy and suggestive song itself? The last few years. After being cooped up and isolated for too long, a lot of people are longing to get out and make some trouble again. What was it like shooting the music video for "Trouble?" Did you have a team help execute your vision? I worked with David Rousseau, one of the top music video directors. David brings an entire crew to the shoot, including make-up, wardrobe people, etc. It's all very well managed, though. We shoot all in one day even if we have a lot of different scenes and actors. What was your goal with the "Trouble" music video? What visual experience did you want to give viewers? You might notice my eyes at a point in the video. They become otherworldly. It is not so evident that what happens in the video is real or that it is even on Earth. My music is called "Alien Pop," which means it's sort of like Pop and sort of out of this world. Even if we shot the video in a cool part of Miami, it has a mysterious otherworldly feel. Would you say that most of your music is rather risque, powerful, and sensual, similar to "Trouble?" How can new listeners better understand you through this single? You can interpret "Trouble" in various ways. I wouldn't say that most of my music is sensual, but I do hope that it moves people. What's next for you? I've been performing live again on my "Trouble Tour" which has been amazing. It's so great to get on stage again and cause some trouble there. I've been performing some songs that are not out yet. I can't wait to release those to the world. Instagram Facebook

  • guUs Roams A Louisiana Cemetery On A "Baron Saturday"

San Francisco-based singer-songwriter and explorative recording artist guUs takes Louisiana in a new cemetery-shot and back swamp-esque music video, "Baron Saturday." Originally from the Netherlands, guUs's sound is anything but typical. He's inspired by acts like Robert Johnson, John Coltrane, and Otis Redding. The result was his unique sound that ranges from old world art song, jazz, blues, psychedelia, progressive, Broadway-like storytelling, and early gospel. It may sound like a lot, but you can better understand the cohesive nature of these sounds through guUs's songs like the latest, "Baron Saturday." He journeys through the bayous while grooving to off-kilter beats, swampy guitar, and charismatic vocals. Furthermore, he took this song to examine his feelings about Hurricane Katrina and vulnerability and deal with the devil. Hitting play on the music video for "Baron Saturday," the scene opens with shots of a lonely, unkempt cemetery, guUs draped in Mardi Gras beads, and a Hennessy bottle in hand. With his ol' walking stick, cigar, and top hat, guUs roams the cemetery strutting his stuff while the Louisiana-inspired tune bumps in the background. All is fine and well until guUs realizes that something sinister is lurking in the bushes. As he tries to keep the groove and good spirits alive with handheld drums and his lively energy, the clip fades into black while guUs runs for his life. We truly appreciate the conceptual take of this video, and we're sure viewers will admire guUs's stage presence, performance abilities, and attention-commanding charisma. Feast your eyes on the spirits that roam this Louisiana cemetery with guUs's latest music video for his single, "Baron Saturday." Watch the new music video on YouTube. Welcome to BuzzMusic, guUs. We love the energetic and playful feel you brought to the music video, "Baron Saturday." What inspired the song itself? Many thanks, BuzzMusic, much appreciated. Like many of my songs, this song is about overcoming challenges and growing stronger for it. So although it is a celebration, the song is initially inspired by tragedy. Baron Saturday is named after the Voodoo spirit Baron Samedi; patron of death and resurrection, temptation and celebration, rum and cigars. The song celebrates the strength of the city of “New Orleans”, the epicenter for voodoo in the US. After it faced death and destruction during hurricane Katrina the city persevered and was resurrected, despite being “forgotten” and ignored by too many. Why did you decide to roam a Louisiana cemetery for the "Baron Saturday" music video? How does this scene fit the song's concept? The cemetery where the video was shot, was actually next to my old home in East London. But clearly inspired by the Deep South, New Orleans, and voodoo in particular for this song, a Louisiana cemetery would be an appropriate location. Not only the name of the song, but also the outfit, performance, and location are inspired by the spirit Baron Samedi who in voodoo is not only the patron of death and resurrection but also the guardian of the cemetery and the passage between both worlds. Did anyone help create the "Baron Saturday" music video? What was the filming process like? Filming it was great. I filmed it with a friend who is a rapper but also wanted to explore his skills behind the camera. So it was a unique experience and experiment for us both. Due to the location, it was important that we did the shoot in a respectful way, and we did speak with local authorities. But there was still room to have fun with it. Were there any themes or concepts you wanted to get across in the "Baron Saturday" music video? What did you want viewers to take away? Although Baron Saturday specifically condemns the injustices that happened around New Orleans’ Katerina tragedy, in general, the song protests against all forms of discrimination, injustice, and the ignorance of those that ignore the struggles of the “non-privileged” members of society. What’s next for you? I have been working with an agency with the ambition of getting some of my material placed in film and TV. I am working on the production of some tracks for that purpose. Although not all of these will be released in the short term, some are expected to come out in the not too distant future. Additionally, I have been working with some producers on HipHop/ Boom Bap remixes and alternative versions of some of my tracks. Exact release dates are not known yet at this stage. • Sail Into Bliss With Sarah Mansour's New Single, "When You Call"

From Beirut, Lebanon, singer-songwriter and r&b recording artist Sarah Mansour soothes the soul in her latest cathartic and personal single, "When You Call." Sarah Mansour has always been a lover of all things art. From the tender age of three, she was performing in festivals, school shows, choirs, and musicals. After a six-year stint of filmmaking in LA, Sarah Mansour moved back to Beirut and focused on her solo music career. After going through a difficult transition period, Sarah Mansour began looking to songwriting for therapy. She says, "peace was restored when I was able to hear myself sing." Now teaming up with her old school friend and producer Joe Pietro Abela for the new single, "When You Call," Sarah Mansour is one step closer to greatness. Listening to "When You Call," this soothing earworm begins with chilling and downtempo RnB keys alongside jazzy drums and soothing guitar melodies. As Sarah Mansour begins singing about navigating through turbulent situations, she calmly lets us know that self-care and growth are essential to escaping toxic habits and people. The song's hook is this incredibly serene and ethereal listening experience that soothes the soul with Mansour's angelic vocals and chilling harmonies. As the instrumentals continue lifting us onto cloud nine through groovy basslines and sweet drum breaks, Sarah Mansour sends us to the outro with sincere servings of independence, freedom, and putting yourself as a top priority. Leave regrets in the past and start a new, empowering journey with help from Sarah Mansour's recent harmonious single, "When You Call," now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Sarah Mansour. We truly admire your new single's self-care and growth themes, "When You Call." What compelled or inspired you to create such an empowering yet soothing piece? Ultimately, “When You Call” is a song about embracing yourself. I wrote it as an ode to releasing negative attachments and introspecting within, even if it means confronting the most uncomfortable realities. After living in LA for years, I moved back home to Beirut and found myself devastated by the tragedies that swept up my country overnight. During a time that changed my life forever, I started writing music again and finally found my sound. This song is a testament to this chapter of my life: finding your inner power while maintaining your peace. What was it like working alongside your school friend and producer Joe-Pietro Abela for "When You Call?" How did he help bring your vision to life? Working with Joe-Pietro was a feeling both familiar and completely new. We hadn’t seen each other in eight years, but there was instant chemistry between us. From the first mix of “When You Call”, I realized that Joe-Pietro has a rare gift for translating anything you express with words into music. He has such an affinity for connecting with different genres that I believe there’s nothing he can’t make. There’s a magical harmony between us at the studio and we’ve continued working together on all my upcoming releases ever since. Why did you want "When You Call" to have this soothing and jazzy vibe to it? How do these calming instrumentals enhance your lyrical theme? “When You Call” conveys a big theme in a subtle way. When you have something important to say, I feel people generally pay more attention when you deliver the message gently than when you shove it in their face. That’s why I’m so inspired by RnB, Soul, and Jazz - artists like Sade, Erykah Badu, and Lauryn Hill. They exude such sass and divine feminine energy and never try too hard because they have nothing to prove. How can listeners get to know you more personally with "When You Call?" How does this song represent you? I’m a big advocate for staying true to you because it took me a long time to put my own doubt aside and just share my real self with the world. I think that’s what this song is all about at the core and I want anyone who listens to it to feel empowered by the message. What's next for you? “When You Call” is only the first released single of the EP album I’m recording right now. I have another single release coming this summer, which I’m super excited about! It’s a little different because it’s a full-on pop song but it’s going to be fun. Aside from that, you can catch me performing my original music at shows and prepping for my very own concert at the end of the year.

  • Mallory Sets The Mood With Passionate, “Make Me Feel”

Houston native Mallory Henderson takes us on a romantic journey with her latest single, "Make Me Feel." Someone call the fire department because this song is hotter than a Texas summer. Mallory's love for music started early and grew as she got older. In high school, she was introduced to industry veteran Papa Reu, landing her many features. When Mallory turned 18, she wrote and recorded her first song but never released it due to her battling depression. Instead, she decided to break from music, but her love and passion for singing brought her back. In June 2019, she released her debut single, "1 Hunned," and has never looked back. Overcoming adversity, Mallory followed her lifelong dream of becoming an artist while still advocating for those who suffer from mental health. "Make Me Feel," tells a love story full of passion and lust. The beautiful mix between vocals and the organic beat is easy on the ears and has the power to pull you close to the one you love. From start to finish, Mallory brings the meaning of love to life. We all long for that special someone, and this song reminds us how powerful the desire for love can be. Her powerful yet gentle voice is the center point of the music, with a light set of instrumentals in the background that set the tone. Mallory is igniting that spark we all call love, get up to speed and listen to her latest single, "Make Me Feel," on all streaming platforms today. Welcome to BuzzMusic Mallory, and congratulation on your latest single, "Make Me Feel." Who is one idol you look to for inspiration, and what inspires you about them? I wouldn't say he, or anyone else, is an idol of mine, but I really look up to Chris Brown creatively. With every song I write or record, I'm thinking about ways to get out of my comfort zone and out of the box. He definitely is the motivation behind that because he can do so much, from crossing genres to painting to athletics, and it's all golden. I want to be that versatile and talented. What inspired "Make Me Feel?" The beat. I had just started working with Ugo Blk beats wisee, and he sent me what became the "Make me Feel" track. I put it on in the car, and as soon as I heard the intro, I kind of started moving my shoulders and said, "okay..." Then the beat dropped, and I sang, "You make me feel like dancin'..." And it did. The beat reminds me of those nights when you're at home with your significant other, shorts and a big tee on, drinking wine, and just dancing around the house together. It's fun and intimate. It just makes me feel close to somebody. Is there any advice you would like to give to someone battling mental health and adversity? What helped you push through your struggles? You're worth the work. I know firsthand that the deeper you are in bad mental health, the more it seems like something's wrong with you, or you're not worth life, and life isn't worth the struggle. But, our minds have ways of tricking us, and the more we give in to those tricks, the harder it is to see that the difference between depression, anxiety, etc., taking over and us living a better life is doing the work. It's hard: changing or getting professional help is a hard decision to make. Then the work to live a healthier life is even harder, and it never ends, but it's so worth it. Going to therapy is one of the best decisions I've ever made, and it's changed my life to the point at which I can see myself growing as it happens even when I'm not in therapy. It's gotten to the point at which when I'm not in therapy weekly, I want to be because the right therapist opens so many doors to alternate perspectives, self-awareness, tools for living, and so much more that lead to an elevated life and state of mind. The growth is addicting. Being the best version of yourself and knowing that you're worth that effort is addicting. All in all, I pray through struggles, and I talk to friends too, but (and this was definitely the answer to prayers) therapy is what's changed my life for the better. What is on the horizon for Mallory? What goals or dreams do you have that you would like to accomplish? I have new music and an EP on the way this year. I'm ready to hit the stage again. I want to work with bigger and bigger artists, start doing features again, sing at sporting events and festivals... There's so much I want to do on the way to whatever the pinnacle is for me. Just stay tuned. What's the main message you're delivering in "Make Me Feel?" Man, I don't know if there's even a specific message. I just wanted to send good vibes out for the Summer while keeping the good vibes going in my life too. Instagram Facebook
