See them on the road to fame! Listen to Soraia here. Welcome to BuzzMusic Soraia! Tell us about the formation of your band. How did Soraia come together? We came together organically and keep growing and evolving. Right now, the members have changed since our inception as we keep growing and connecting with new players who fit the next level and phase of where we are going. I think I came up with the idea for starting my own thing many years ago, in 2nd grade to be honest. But it took until 12 years ago to start pursuing it full time. Let’s talk about your song “EverGreen”! What was the creative process behind this record? This was one of the first songs written for the album we're releasing in March 2020. My co-writer played this riff that became the verses and said he heard this drumbeat like "Howlin' For You" by The Black Keys as the drum part. when I listened, I immediately heard a teasing -- kind of playful and simple riff -- it brought the lyrics easily to mind. I had been watching "Black Snake Moan" (the movie) and heard this line that the main female character "had the devil in her", and that always conjured up this Old South feeling for me, so I wanted to put that in the front end of the song. Give it that old story vibe. From then on, the story is sarcastically told through the song--with a sometimes kind of playful and teasing attitude, and sometimes aggressive and frustrated tone. It really felt freeing and gave the speaker the power back she didn't feel she had in the first place. How would you detail the songwriting approach towards “EverGreen”? What was the most challenging aspect for you in creating “EverGreen” and why? I think being honest in your songwriting, while free, can also be super difficult and emotional. This story was very personal to me, and I had to almost remove myself from it in order to tell it the way I wanted to--to fit the mood of the music. That was the most challenging because I was going through it while writing it and saying things I didn't feel I could say in my actual life. How was it opening up for some major Rock N Roll greats? I mean, it's amazing opening for your idols. It's an unreal feeling, but it's a reality when you are really going for it. I've come to be surprised when we get the gig, but just know it's inevitable when you keep going. It's an honor and a privilege to be able to play in front of women and men who have been performing all their lives. It's what I want to do and be, too, so I watch them closely and how they perform, use their energy, and engage the audience. It's nothing short of magic. What are you looking forward to most in 2020 Soraia? Our new album releasing into the world. It's called "Dig Your Roots" and I'm incredibly proud of our work on it, and think people will really dig it, too. facebook.com/soraiarocks instagram.com/soraiarocks soraiawcr.bandcamp.com twitter.som/soraiarocks #BuzzMusic

  • Sultry Soul Artist Vica Introduces an Eccentric Sound in 2019 and We Can't Wait to See What's Next!

Singer/songwriter Vica has attempted to display her artistic potential throughout this past year. Looking at Vica is her entirety as an artist, we sense a comfortable and relaxing approach to creating vivid experiences for listeners. Going over some noteworthy tracks, one release that Vica had in 2019 was "You've Won". The composite of Vica's production in "You've Won" is centralized. The consistent sound creates a familiar and warm atmosphere, which is cultivated by Vica's harmonious vocal outflow. Vica offers her raw emotions up to listeners' ears with "You've Won", as the song captures the essence of heartbreak. Her alluring and sensual aura can be easily attended to, and we find ourselves closing our eyes to feel Vica within all senses. Another track Vica released this year, titled "Good Love", offers a similar approach as "You've Won" in terms of production. With a consistent instrumental and synth collection, "Good Love" remains just as honest and soft as Vica's vocal execution. Although, the track does introduce fun and lively element, the one that makes it easy to move some part of your body along to. As we move on to other releases from Vica, we find ourselves listening to "Sex and Music". The feel of this track is more elastic and silky than previous ones. Vica displays her vulnerabilities and lustful tendencies to create the essence that is "Sex and Music". At some parts of the track, there's a potent ethereal and atmospheric vibe that allows for that reflective moment from a listener's standpoint. It's no doubt that Vica creates a vivid visual experience for her listeners with her releases 2019 saw, and we're anticipating further artistic growth in 2020! Listen to the eccentric stylings of Vica here. Hello Vica! 2019 saw a few releases from you, and all of them were consistent with the alluring and earthly ambiance your music captures. Out of the 2019 releases, which one do you think resonated better with listeners? Hello Buzz Music! Thanks for having me! I released 3 songs this year which I’m really proud of and they were all pretty well received. They are all somewhat different and I feel appeal to different markets. You’ve Won and Good Love was produced by the same person, @zforbesofficial and have that same smooth old school vibe which appealed to a very R&B kind of crowd. Sex and Music is a little more dramatic and was accompanied by my first video which had been a concept for a year and was finally released. It was also well received so I‘m very proud of that. Let's talk about the messages you integrate into your music. What would you say was the predominant takeaway message of "Sex and Music"? This song is about a fling I had with a guy, pretty much describing how the only thing we had in common was sex and music. It starts out saying I knew it wouldn’t last but by the end of the song it’s revealed that I was actually affected by the relationship even though I thought I knew there was no future.  Not my proudest moment so I decided to share it with the world lol. Could you ever see yourself blending in genre elements that listeners have never seen your music emulate before? Yes definitely! This is a bit of a teaser but I’ve recently been doing a lot of dancing, urban contemporary and afrobeat so I’m hoping to include that in my releases in 2020, both in my music and my performances. How do you feel you showcase your vulnerabilities to your listeners? Would you say that the majority of your songs capture real-life experiences on your end, or do you keep your private and artistic life separate? My songs are definitely based on real-life experiences. However, I hope to be artistic and abstract enough so it’s not an obvious dear-diary experience. However sometimes for my performances, I can be very candid about who they are about lol. Now that we're walking through your 2019 from a music standpoint, how do you feel about your collection of releases and the way your music came together as a whole for 2019? To be honest, I just did what I felt was right. If I felt like a song was ready for that time for the market, then I would release it. I have a bunch of songs that are still unreleased but I like to go with how I feel, what resonates with me at that moment. I believe that if I am genuine and connected with certain songs at a specific time, it will also resonate with my audience. Congratulations on the success your music has seen over 2019! Thanks for talking to us about your releases, and the meaning of the music that is Vica! Where do you see your artistic path extending from here? Thank you so much! 2020 will see more of my exploration as an artist, including different facets of media, especially visually as I am not only a musical artist, I am also as a visual one. I hope to incorporate more movement and a more dynamic performance aspect to my repertoire, and I plan to push myself this year artistically for sure. I’m very excited so stay tuned! vicamusic.com instagram.com/vica_music #BuzzMusic

  • Dan Conway Is an Eclectic Artist Taking His Music Career to the Next Steps

Dan Conway is a unique artist from New York. Being broken, fractured pieces of Dan Conway’s psyche and actual physical being have proven to be the pieces that consist of Dan’s artistry. He’s a songwriter and a producer who’s looking to take his career to the next level in 2020. Relentless was his first single which was a rock anthem but Dan Conway refuses to be limited to one particular image. In an age where brand and image are everything; Dan wants to continue breaking barriers in the upcoming year. Dan is a writer who likes to speak from his personal experience. He creates the raw emotions and power behind each word in his melodies from personal encounters. Dan Conway receives a significant amount of praise and recognition for the quality of his voice. Dan Conway has been told his voice connects with the listener in ways that hit the soul. Bringing in flavors of his greatest inspirations from the likes of Chester Bennington of Linkin Park, James Hetfield of Metallica, Kurt Cobain of Nirvana, Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters which give him the grit to more sultry sounds of Ed Sheeran, James Bay, and John Mayer. Dan Conway’s eclectic background strengthens his appetite for greatness. If you’re wondering what’s next for Dan Conway? He will be performing in New York City in the upcoming year so keep him on your radar moving forward. Between performing and releasing new music, 2020 will be another great year for this young talent and we really can't wait to see what's next! Listen to Dan Conway here. Welcome back to BuzzMusic Dan Conway! How is it living in New York? In what ways are you influenced by the city when writing new music? Thanks for having me back. Living in New York is interesting. There are so many different cultures, beliefs, and personalities in coexistence. For me, it’s intriguing to be able to connect with all of these different energies. Recently, on an adventure into the city, I saw how alive it could really be. In the same breath, I also saw how heart-wrenching it is. Witnessing the struggles of people on the streets who were battling addiction or homeless, humbled me greatly. This also sparked a sense of motivation within me, igniting a drive to do more with my music. I want to use music as a voice not only for me but for the people. Tell us about your record “Relentless”, what was your goal with this record? I don’t think any goal for any record is ever truly achieved because there are always more people to connect with and reach out to. In our previous interview, I discussed how “Relentless” was created during a time of healing. The writing process was therapeutic for me; the record became not only a musical achievement, but a reminder that I can turn to music to grow from hurt, rather than allowing the hurt to debilitate me. Your amazing album, “Sycamore Sessions” what was the biggest challenge you had to face when making this project? The biggest challenge I had to face when making my album “Sycamore Sessions” was deciding which songs I wanted to include. There were about 8-10 songs that had the potential to be on it, but as I concerned more about the flows and the meanings behind the songs, it seemed that the record began to put itself together. I wrote and produced “Sycamore Sessions” entirely from home. One of the other challenges I faced was deciding how I would start a song. Songs can start in many ways; at times I will start with a lyric, sometimes with a guitar line, and other times I will start with a sound that creates a feeling. This was a different kind of challenge, one that allowed me to grow as an artist. To find the best way to bring a song to life, I learned to use a variety of tools and colors to paint sound with, as well as to focus on the inspiration behind the songs. Hard question Dan, which song from “Sycamore Sessions” is your personal favorite? My favorite song from “Sycamore Sessions” has to be “Fell For You,” mainly because I think I was able to create a really cohesive sound. From the percussion and melodies playing off of one another to the raspy tone to my voice. I believe you can listen to this song and feel what I felt at the time of its creation. As an artist, I think the best thing you can do is make people feel by weaving different moods and energies throughout a particular song. I think I achieved this with “Fell For You.” What were some arrangements you experimented with in your single “Electric Sunshine”? For my single “Electric Sunshine,” I only had one arrangement. As I was creating the different parts, I just let each new sound lead me to the next piece I needed to add. This song came together easily for me. At the time, I was feeling very inspired and wanted to create something that I never had before. Each sound that layered into the mix seemed to fall into place just as I imagined it. Throughout the process of creating the song, the image I saw in my head became clearer and clearer. I trusted in myself and allowed my creativity to take me to the finish line. I will always remember this song. What’s next for you in the new year Dan, we can't wait to hear what's next from you! I just finished a live session at Zin Records. I went into the studio with a vision, and I believe we fulfilled that vision and ultimately created something that was even better than I originally anticipated. I performed a seven-song set, which included a cover of a Post Malone song and six other original songs that I composed on the acoustic guitar. I believe this project will not only be visually stimulating, but will show off my guitar playing, vocal, and songwriting abilities. My songs tell a story, and in totality portray a message of strength. Adversity brings out the best in me, and I am excited to share my stories through this performance. Remember to stay current with all things Dan Conway by checking out my YouTube page. You can find me by searching “Dan Conway Relentless.” I am excited about the new year, and to see where this road will take me. instagram.com/danconwaymusic facebook.com/DanConwayOfficial twitter.com/danconwaymusic #BuzzMusic

  • Stoned Fox & His Melancholic Styling Transforms the Categories of Music!

Showcasing his music all across North America, artist Stoned Fox impresses us with his musical texture. You give one listen to Stoned Fox, and you can clearly hear that compelling dark and gloomy tone. In its consistency, it offers a different take on music. We can try to find artists to compare Stoned Fox too, and we come up completely short. We feel that his 2019 sound showcased an exclusive sounding to his artistry, and we're genuinely intrigued to see what 2020 brings. As for now, a walk along the past year of Stoned Fox. Stoned Fox released an album this past year, self-titled. The album consists of similar somber stylings throughout, but as we dive deeper into tracks such as "lovers", we find that Stoned Fox wants to keep the attention of listeners by integrating haunting and aggressive stylings. From a vocal standpoint, Stoned Fox maintains that dark and shadowy ambiance, which is only further generated by the production. Progressing further into the album, "skeletons at the heart" offers a contrasting melody, where we hear very distinctive instrumentals that characterize the styling of this particular track. Nevertheless, that iconic mystic sounding of Stoned Fox remains consistent. We end the album with "wasted on Sunday", and as the title can hint at, the song is extremely laidback, offering a more lax version of Stoned Fox's music. His lyricism is filled with despair, which has undoubtedly been the very essence of the sounding from Stoned Fox. We know in the near future we can expect that similar exclusive sounding that is Stoned Fox. Discover Stoned Fox and his music here! Hey Stoned Fox! Thanks for coming back to BuzzMusic! How do you feel your artistic career has transformed throughout this year? Hey guys! Thanks for having me back! I’d like to think my songwriting is getting better this year, as well I’ve been putting in the time learning more and more about the recording process. The ability to have my own studio and rehearsal space is a major change as well, which I love! The piano has become a new love of mine and I find myself looking forward to playing it more than the guitar now.  It is almost as if I started out on the wrong instrument. The release of your album "deadman’s wonderland" was a highlight of your 2019! How was the creative process of the album, and did you prefer it over the recording process? My creative process hasn't changed much over the years, I write as many lyrics as I can from personal experiences or whatever inspires me and usually the melodies aren't far behind that. It really is a full-time deal you don't sleep much when you find a lyric or song you start to love, it just keeps playing on repeat in your mind. I guess the creative process has more chance of being painful and heartbreaking and the recording process is all about experimentation and learning, so I’ll cast my vote towards a love of recording. If listeners could only discover one track off of your released album, what track would you suggest? Can you describe the deeper meaning behind the song, personal to you? Happiness forgotten is one that has a very classic stoned fox sound, but I have a love/hate relationship with it. The deeper meaning behind all that is that I was in a marriage that was falling apart from addiction, you can hear the story in the lyrics. The drinking, the drugs, the final straw when its all over. The graveyard in the video where I throw my wedding ring back into the water is the same graveyard where I proposed to my wife, so between the visual component and the lyrical side of things it is consumed by the darker side of life. Residing in rural Ontario, how do you feel the music scene there is aiding in amplifying your current sound? The music scene around here is wonderful, we have two great venues for open mics. The Bruce Wine Bar and The Crowbar and Variety have such great chemistry and ambiance it’s no wonder they attract so much talent. One of my favorite local acts is Miranda Journey you should check out her “skin and bones ep” on Spotify, it‘S so well done. I myself suffer from pretty severe anxiety so playing live right now isn’t on the table but I am hoping one day to break out of that, I’m happy for now to record at my own studio and rehearse new material.  I’m hoping 2020 is the year for the fox! We fully know that the deep, gloomy, and darker sound is a huge characterization of your sound. Do you ever see yourself blending in contrasting genres from what you mainly create now? I could see maybe if I were to write some new material with some other people that all of our inspirations would come together. But honestly, I’ve tried to write happy and upbeat things it just doesn't work for me, all my work is very personal and most of the time I’m somewhat gloomy and when it’s at it’s worst is when you reach for a pen or a guitar to keep those ghosts from becoming too much to handle. Side note, if my songs do start sounding happy lookout I’d be afraid my mind has snapped! Thanks again for talking to us and our readers about your music over 2019! Where do you think you' are headed now artistically? Thanks so much to everyone who works at BuzzMusic you gals and guys are amazing! In the new year I think I’m headed towards a really great new album, hopefully playing live again, and as always striving towards that gloomy authenticity because artists like that and those songs are the ones that inspire and save me at 4 am. instagram.com/stonedfoxmusic thestonedfox.com #BuzzMusic

With the artist, she has grown to become, her music is packaged perfectly and neatly for us this holiday season! You can catch us obsessively listening to "My Religion" in the meantime, while we wait for more music from Haleigh Bowers! Listen to "My Religion" here. Hi Haleigh Bowers, and welcome to the BuzzMusic community! Thanks for taking the time to chat with us about your recent release "My Religion". How did the curation process, recording, and overall production go over for the track? Hi everyone! I’m so happy to be talking with you all. The process for “My Religion” was really beautiful and unique. I wrote the first iteration of the song on my notes app 30 minutes after I almost got T-boned by a car making a left-hand turn on Griffith Park Blvd (literally!). It came out of me pretty naturally and felt as easy and inevitable as breathing. I brought the song to Michael Lehmann Boddicker and we finished writing this final version together. After that, I played a lot of shows around Los Angeles and got a ton of positive feedback about the relatability of the song and how it impacted people personally. It seemed natural to move forward in the recording process and take steps towards sharing the song on a larger scale. I went to Perfect Sound Studios in Frogtown and worked with an incredible team of people to finish out the recording process (Sean Kellett- engineer, Sam Vendig- coproducer, Madi Vogt-drums, Jack Demeo- guitar & bass, Quinn D’Andrea- piano). It was a remarkable process to turn this song into a living, breathing, tangible track. It takes a village and I had a good one. Are you able to share with our readers the genuine and honest underlying message of "My Religion”? Yes, most definitely! “My Religion” explores breaking out of codependent cycles. I found myself in a relationship where I was giving a lot with the expectation that the sacrifice would be reciprocated. I followed the story of this love like blind religion- I was looking through reverent rose-colored glasses and choosing to stay ignorant to the reality of my experience. I was cherry-picking the truth. When that backfired on me, I experienced the feelings of betrayal, anger, and shame around it. I had to explore my part in it and how to move forward. This became a type of declarative, healing anthem where I came to terms with the consequences of my own actions and how to move forward with a fuller sense of awareness. You have collaborated with a multitude of artists within your artistic career! Each time you collaborate with another artist, do you feel you gather pivotal knowledge and experience in order to apply to your own music? I absolutely love collaborating. I think it’s so beautiful to see how other people channel their creative energy. Everybody’s process is so different and unique. I’ve worked with people that have an incredible awareness of melodic structure which has made me more conscious of intentional melody writing. I’ve worked with people that break the rules and inspire me to do the same. I’ve also worked with musicians that are enthralled with structure and balanced phrases; that inspire me to reevaluate what I’ve written previously and have the grace to make adjustments that might be better suited for the song as a whole. My collaborations have definitely given me so many tools. It’s awesome to be able to go back to the drawing board and just try on different perspectives. As a singer/songwriter, what are some challenges you face during the creation stage of your music? I am my own worst critic! As I mentioned before, sometimes the creative process is truly as easy as breathing. When the judgmental voice in my head gets involved, I start running into problems. Most of the time that voice is based on the classic insecurities that plague my vulnerable artist heart - is this going to be good enough? Is this worth putting out into the world? Will people relate to this at all? When that voice gets loud, I have to take a step back and remind myself why I do this in the first place. Whether it stays on my iPhone or is released into the world in some way, it is a valuable process to be able to communicate my feelings through art. It’s therapeutic. It’s healing. It’s a miraculous, indescribable, humbling process that I get to be a part of. It is not a means to an end. It, in and of itself, is a worthwhile experience. My challenges always revolve around learning how to reframe that voice of fear and not let it become a dam that blocks the natural flow of the creating process. It was a blessing to feature your music here on BuzzMusic! Thanks again for taking the time Haleigh, and we hope to see you soon! Any parting words for our readers, over this holiday season? Thank you so much for the feature! Parting words - Whatever holiday you celebrate, wherever you celebrate it, and with whom you celebrate it- enjoy every single moment. I feel like there’s this desire to make the holiday season, especially gearing into the New Year, a pinnacle for change. I find that the holiday season gives me an opportunity to pause, gently look at my life, and experience connection with the beautiful humans around me. Sending love to you all! haleighbowers.com instagram.com/haleighbowers facebook.com/haleighbowersmusic #BuzzMusic

  • Alexandra Fresquez Is “in Love with Love” with Her New Single - Listen Now!

From New Mexico to Los Angeles, today we have new music from the amazing Alexandra Fresquez with her new smashing song, “In Love With Love”. Let’s dive in here. “In Love With Love” is a Pop song, through and through. The musical vibe here is something that you could hear on Pop Top 40 radio and has all of the elements. From guitar work and synth to ripping vocals and electronic style drums, this song has it all. Production-wise, the track is very much so up to the industry standards and crosses off all of the boxes, especially with the vocal production being upfront and center. The vocal performance by Alexandra is unreal and super on point. She showcases what her voice is capable of doing and how far she can bend from one end to the other of the spectrum. The mix of the song is also fantastic, everything sits really well together and compliments one another, leaving this song to be flawless and nothing else. Lyrically, the song is super interesting and intelligent. She really has a way with words and it seems to be working well for her! We are in love with “In Love With Love” and we think you would be too! Make sure to check out Alexandra Fresquez and dive into her music. Listen to "in Love With Love" here. Hey Alexandra and welcome to BuzzMusic! You're originally from Roswell, NM but moved to Los Angeles to pursue your music career. Can you tell us how the move to LA has impacted your musical journey Thank you guys for the opportunity to talk with you again! LA completely changed my musical journey, I met so many people that were so encouraging, and motivating, and helped me take the right steps towards my dreams. I am currently living back in New Mexico right now to be closer to my family but will be moving back in the near future. Your words to live by are "never let YOU get in the way of your dreams, and your potential. You're the only one who has that power". What would you tell someone who's just starting out? I would say, don’t be afraid to go out, and get things done on your own, always try to learn more, and ask those around you for advice and help, and what things to avoid, and don’t just take one person’s advice. Take a step every day towards your dreams, even if it’s just a small one, keep moving, and don’t take too much to heart, when you get rejected. Also, you always have something to learn, so stay humble, and you’ll get a lot more help. We love your new single "In Love With Love". What's the inspiration behind it? I am so happy you guys love it! Thank you for listening! The inspiration for this song is like every other relationship I find myself in. I think a lot of people can relate to this idea, and feeling of being in love, but not with the actual person. It’s so much fun going through the act of falling and being in love, without actually realizing the truth about the relationship. I took real-life examples, of these relationships, and put them all into one. I think it’s the most honest I’ve been about myself in a song. I hope everyone can relate to it, or find their own way to relate. A song is always what it uniquely means to a person. "In Love With Love" showcases your vocals and lyric ability flawlessly. Can you tell us a bit about the creative process when a new song idea comes to you Yes, so I’ll try to write different concepts down in my phone notes, and then usually one just stands out to me, and I know I just really want to go for that idea. I then sent this idea to Brooke Tomlinson, who is amazing at helping me put all my ideas together, and we wrote it over facetime. Then I went to Nashville to record it with Andrew Gomez. What's next for Alexandra Fresquez? I am working on a couple of new songs, and I am also very excited to say that I got my first placement on MTV recently, through Activista Music, so I’m really hoping to try and get more. Also just doing more shows, as well as working with different artists on their projects. You can stay updated through social media. Thank you guys again for letting me have the chance to talk with you! Always a pleasure! instagram.com/zanfresquez facebook.com/alexandra.fresquez twitter.com/zanfresquez #BuzzMusic

  • Damyon Pumps Ambition in His Listener with “Stack or Starve”

Damyon gave us a thought-provoking release of his single “Stack Or Starve”. “Stack Or Starve” begins with a motivational excerpt that sets the anticipation for the song at an all-time high. The lyrics in “Stack Or Starve” were a reflection on Damyon background and environment. You catch a glimpse of the life of those who live in urban neighborhoods and communities. The hook is sung by Joseph Bills and his intricate voice was a great addition to this emotional rap hit! The entire song pumps ambition into its listener. “Stack Or Starve” is the perfect song you can listen to while working out, driving, or when you simply need a “push”. Although the lyrics were written as a reflection of the story of Damyon, it was still highly relatable and can reach out to not only the youth but the older generations as well. Damyon is a relatable rapper with a talent that packs a punch. “Stack or Starve” was a real bonafide hip-hop record that will translate well with the old and new heads of rap. This song blends between generational trends effortlessly and still remains as a true authentic reflection on who Damyon is as an artist and individual. You can listen to “Stack Or Starve” by Damyon here. Can you tell us what it's like being raised and grew up in the Chicago music scene? How has this helped to shape your career? I wouldn’t know what it’s like to start doing music in any of the major cities but in Chicago, you had 15% that wanted to be like somebody else’s right a better version and the rest of us had a sound we wanted the world to hear. This helped me because there were so many different sounds all basically under the same umbrella, it made me want to venture out it changed my approach and help me define who I am. Every artist rapped about the typical Drugs, Guns, Money, women and how they were the hardest or a killer, don’t get me wrong that is till this day the main topics, I just had to find my own route and also deliver my own message. I can’t say it was challenging it was easy creating/ delivering what I wanted to say it was hard getting recognition because it was too different to soon, but I don’t regret anything that’s what built me. You have a lot of accomplishments under your belt. What's the highlight of 2019 for you? “Stack or Starve “ is my biggest highlight it came out how I wanted it and it got the reaction I didn’t expect Joseph Bills is the reason it’s the masterpiece it is Thank you for sharing your song "Stack Or Starve" with us. Tell us about the creation process. Did you run into any issues? First, thank you for listening to it. “Stack Or Starve “ started while I was in school at CRAS(Conservatory of Recording Arts and Science) in Arizona, it started as a vibe turn into a beat completely done by me the beat became my theme song for several months just something to vibe to keep me pushing in this State where I knew nobody and nothing the beat itself created the Family I fell into out there that’s when I decided to turn it into a song I wanted to make it something that everybody around the world could feel, something that I term was what not just me but the world was going thru. That’s when the hook came to me like an epiphany it hit all the spots (pain, happiness, love, struggle, life) the verses came like second nature easy to infuse all that into a wordplay everybody would feel. Then came the easy option, to feature a heavy hitter to complete the puzzle, that’s when I met Joseph Bills at an event hosted by Respect The Underground when he was on stage his set (Music) made me feel how I feel when I'm creating music I had a talk with him, he introduced me to the Maxout Mob, the next day we shot a video to his track “Juice” had an after-party for it and the rest was history. Joseph Bills and the Mob became family to be a bond so strong of like-minded people it was a no brainer to put him as a feature. The hardest issue was literally our schedule we worked and did shows so linking to record was tough but once he brought me to Sun Studios and I not only heard but felt D’Angelo skills as an engineer I knew that was the time to do it and with D’Angelo’s Gift and me and Joseph Bills Talent we created this Masterpiece. What's next for Damyon as we enter a new year? I got a lot of things I’m working on now and millions of projects unfinished next year it’s 100% all about productivity and showing the world who I am as an Entrepreneur, Artist, Writer, Engineer, Man. next year is where I break off all constrictions and Unleash the Beast that is me “Damyon” watch what I tell you. “Let the Knowledge you learn help you excel at your Grind” -Damontay Overs (Damyon). “Learn it “ “Knowledge “ “Grind”. @DaRealDamyon #BuzzMusic

  • The Folk-Rock Stylings of The ByWays

The Byways recently released their pop sprinkled folk-rock EP dubbed "Something To Prove" and it certainly proves the band to be a strong contender in the classic folk-rock world. Songs are filled with life and passion, and often hook you in quickly with strong vocal sections and great pop grooves. There is much classic rock influence seeping through with most of these tracks and it's all done with taste. "How Did We Get Here" is a top-notch immediately fun classic. Kicking straight off with youthful energy but keeping to the records mature rock style, this song shows some excellent songwriting chops. "Believe In Me" is another example of how the EP is lyrically upfront and musically powerful and fun all at the same time. These songs are not only easy to listen to but beckons an almost nostalgic memorandum of the days of youth. • Ashton Chase Takes Us Away on “Paper Planes” With His New Single

Every genre has it’s repeating artists that play it safe, don’t try and do something unique and usually, that works out for a lot of people. At least for a short period of time. However, we have the very talented and risk-taking artist, Ashton Chase and he has something honest and unique to offer all of our ears with his new single “Paper Planes”. We are hearing more and more rap/ hip hop that features guitar work for the sake of having guitar work. However, it’s rare that you hear a song in this space that has a well thought out guitar riff that fits the entire vibe of the song. “Paper Planes” opens with this, then introduces a great drum beat that gets you ready for the incredibly captured vocal performance by Ashton Chase. He’s from Florida and it’s almost as if you can hear the state calling you in “Paper Planes”, and on a winter night, we aren’t mad about it. The lyrics are very thought out and express his love and how he is at her mercy. Lyrics such as “whenever she calls, I never let it ring”. This is a very one of a kind of a track and if I can guess, I would say there is a hint of the influence of Post Malone, the way that Ashton Chase raps in the verse but then sings beautifully in the chorus. By the end of the 2:45 long song, you need more and that’s a good thing that comes with your wish, as Ashton Chase has an entire record waiting for you. If you want something fresh in Hip Hop, please listen to Ashton Chase and his new song “Paper Planes” today! • Mighty Tortuga Drops Their New EP; "Unplugged"

The band Mighty Tortuga offers a fresh rock sound intended to smooth and relax the spirit.  This is accomplished through vocals that typically come with rock music combined with the acoustic sounds of softer genres. Mighty Tortuga is based in Connecticut and hopes to bring their music to a wider audience using relatable lyrics and a unique sound. A blending of late 90s era rock music and modern musical effects gives Mighty Tortuga an appealing edge on other rock songs. “Memory Ln.” is the first track off of Mighty Tortuga's new EP unplugged. "Memory Ln." is a song that is nostalgic of early 2000s rock, and reminiscent of bands like Simple Plan and Green Day. The song is acoustic, with beautiful guitar and piano melodies layered beneath and behind the vocals. They sing about the struggles of letting go. The band sings about memories that are painful and the people that usually accompany those memories. In the song the lyrics “Can’t tell if it’s real or memory”, the pain of losing an important person is clearly written to resonate with any listener. After a long instrumental, the vocals return softer so that the listener can hear the ethereal acoustics before the final chorus. Mighty Tortuga has shown what they can do with the release of “Memory Ln.” and their new EP "Unplugged", so make sure you give this one a listen. Listen to Mighty Tortuga's new EP "Unplugged" here. Hey Mighty Tortuga, and welcome to BuzzMusic! Congratulations on the release of your new EP “Unplugged”. Can you tell us what inspired the creation of "Unplugged"? Hello! Thank you so much for having us back! The inspiration for the record was mostly to the fans a different taste of what we can do, as well as building up the hype for our new EP we are about to go in and record! We hadn't yet put out an acoustic song, so we figured why not three? The lyrics for “Memory Ln.” were quite meaningful and emotional, what would you want your audience to take out/learn from listening to the song? The most important thing to me is how the listener interprets the song themself. However, I would hope that the fans who feel personally connected to the song can use it as a way to cope with a bad memory and that you're not alone in trying to let it go. You seem to have a clear idea of what you’d like your music to sound like, have you always gravitated towards rock music? How did you settle on your idea of “smooth, dream-rock”? We have done everything completely DIY so far, which really helps us express ourselves the way we would like to. That has been pretty successful so far, but we decided to go down a different route this time. For our upcoming record, we are about to start, we are working with some high profile people with hopes of making an absolute masterpiece. As for the idea of smooth, dream-rock came from trying to explain what we sound like sonically. We aren't necessarily a "rock band," yet we are. Genres have become so confusing we decided to just pick three words that fit us best and call it our own. Who are some artists that inspire you the most, and how do they contribute to your creative ideas? We are influenced mostly by Turnover, The Maine, The 1975, and Taking Back Sunday. They all have created this feeling where you can always tell its that artist, and I think that is something we are trying to achieve with our music. Up next for the band, we are actually headed into the studio tomorrow (2/15) to start on our new record. We will be doing drum tracking with Jay Maas to start it off, and couldn't be more excited to take the next step forward for our band.
