Not only does Broken Keys perform in Cleveland, but they've had shows across the United States from Honolulu to New York City and Houston to Detroit. "Distant Mood" from Broken Keys' album of the same name is a light, dreamy downtempo tune that will cast all your worries away. The Cleveland-based DJ and producer Broken Keys have blessed BuzzMusic with this track and it truly has got some of the most chill vibes out there. Its mellow beat and breezy synths had us drifting away. The vocals float slowly in and out of the soundscape as Broken Keys stretches note after note with such ease. It's as if we're hearing echoes from another world. It’s a perfect match that cements the wispy tone of “Distant Mood”. We recommend this tune, whether you’re looking to chill out at home or blasting it on your car radio, it’s gonna leave you feeling cool, calm, and collected! Tune into Broken Keys new song "Distant Mood' here and read our exclusive interview below! Hey Broken Keys! It's great to have you here at BuzzMusic. We wanna jump right in and ask, how are you able to bring so many sounds together and create the vibe that is "Distant Mood"? I drew from various genres and styles, but The Beatles were a big inspiration for this album. I took inspirational elements from electronic, rock and hip hop music along the way also. The title track was the first song I made for the album and I felt like I was on to something when I put that one together. The majority of the album was created in the next few days. What's the most important thing you like to accomplish when producing music? If it’s something that moves me upon creation, I know I’m on to something. If it makes you feel anything, then I feel accomplished. I’ve also found that if I don’t overthink the process, the results tend to be better in my experience. The more natural the process, the better the outcome. Does living in Cleveland have any influence on the mood of your music? I definitely think so. Distant Mood was written during the winter months, which can get pretty dreary in CLE. Although it was cold outside, I was creating these songs thinking about the warmer months that waited ahead. It’s also an incredibly creative city so I certainly draw inspiration from other creatives in the city. In what other ways do you express your emotions? Whether it be other musical genres or a completely different medium, we'd love to know! I love to Skateboard. This past summer I spent a lot of my free time skating around Cleveland and various other cities while traveling. I’m also in a Hip Hop duo called Smoke Screen and I produce House/Electronic music as well. It’s honestly great to be able to go to another sound/genre to help keep things fresh. We appreciate your time Broken Keys! We'd like to ask one last thing, what's next for you artistically? More music is definitely on the way. I’m really excited about the newer stuff I’ve been working on. I’ve also been making an effort to improve my live set which has been a really fun process with the addition of more live instrumentation. More shows/touring is on the horizon! - Alternative Rock Band Krantz Is Craving To Share "Sweet N Sour Mary Lynne"
Based in Nashville, TN, Krantz is known for putting their twist on all things rock. The band consists of lead singer and guitarist Jeffrey Krantz, Tee Tallent on keys, and percussionist Adrian Flores. Lately, they've drawn inspiration from the classic sounds of the 60s and the edginess of the 90s and that’s where their third album “Misty Morning Dew" gets its familiar, yet distinctive sound. For now, we're gonna be taking a look at the track "Sweet N Sour Mary Lynne", so let's just jump in head first! When we heard about the 60s meets 90s fusion of rock music, we did not know what to expect. But not to worry, Krantz is masterful at what they do and you're instantly thrown into an expertly constructed time warp that's able to traverse both eras at once. The song starts with dreamy, psychedelic keys that sound so retro and 60s, but then we're knocked into the 90s by the drums and guitar. Jeffrey's voice perfectly brings the entire sound together with lyrics about that effortless girl who is ever so present in all those 90s bops. The chorus sounds like it could have been taken straight from another era, from its rawness. Krantz has captured so many great retroelements in "Sweet N Sour Mary Lynne" that you need to take a listen for yourself! Listen to "Sweet N Sour Mary Lynne" here and get to know Krantz below in our exclusive interview. It's so great to have you Krantz! We're in love with the entire 60s meets 90s vibe that you've been giving us. What influenced you to create a song like "Sweet N Sour Mary Lynne”? Thanks for having me Buzz Music! I actually wrote this one with my buddy and old bandmate, Joel King, who is in a band called the Wildfeathers. You can definitely hear the Tom Petty influence in this one I feel. What was the writing process for "Sweet N Sour Mary Lynne" like? How did you come up with the title? Well, I came to Joel with a progression and melody and he actually did most of the lyrics. It’s just about a wild girl who can’t be tamed. Do you feel like "Sweet N Sour Mary Lynne" belongs more in the 60s or in the 90s? I think it sounds more like a 90s tune for sure. I mean, who doesn’t love the 90s?! Being a rock band, what is the most important thing people take away when listening to your music? Well, I always am told that people have my songs stuck in their heads, so hopefully a catchy melody. Most of my songs are about love too, so good feelings. What goals do you guys have for the upcoming year? Well, we’re releasing the whole album on Oct 25 and having a big party here in Nashville at the Mercy Lounge. Hopefully hit the road again and head over to Europe! Connect with Krantz on social media: www.facebook.com/krantzband www.instagram.com/krantzmusic www.twitter.com/krantzmusic #BuzzMusic

This contemporary flare stems highly from the overall production, which is crafted incredibly meticulously. You'll have to give a listen to Janelle's latest track to experience such a wide range of vocal dynamics! Discover Janelle's latest release here, and continue reading for our interview with the artist! Hey there Janelle! We appreciate you taking the time to allow our readers to get to know you more as an artist! Can we start off by asking how the music world has been treating your latest single "That L.O.V.E"? I’m getting a lot more love than hate, I can tell you that! [laughs] But I must admit, I was quite fearful about releasing such a different sound than what others were use to hearing from me...you know...I’m the RnB chick, and this felt more like ‘pop’, but I heard the beat and the song came to me instantly. I just couldn’t let it go. But so far so good. This song is actually doing a bit better than some of my previously released RnB songs, so maybe there’s something to it. Thanks to everyone who’s viewing, streaming, sharing and loving it!! By now you've had to have been told this numerous times, but we must comment on the insane vocal dynamics you possess! Wow! Did this talent come naturally to you, or did you craft your sound over time? Wow! Thank you! Thank you! My sound....we’ve had a very love-hate relationship. I grew up in a time where we appreciated diversity in music, artists like Toni Braxton, Anita Baker and Whitney Houston all had these very distinct and memorable voices. But in 2019, I think we’re all looking to “catch a vibe” and we lean more towards soft and airy and my voice is anything but soft and airy. I remember, I would hold myself back a lot trying to sound like what’s popular, but my voice just kept getting deeper, raspier, bigger and more different and I hated that at one point. I’m just now growing to appreciate it because I don’t think I sound like anyone else, but I guess it all came naturally. It’s my voice and it refuses to let me decide who and what it’s gonna be. I find it funny that most times I can’t even listen to myself around others, but in secret, I play my moments back and I say to my voice, “You’re just growing into your own lane, aren’t you? That a girl!” Is there an integral message embedded within "That L.O.V.E" that you can share with our readers? Yes, there is. I wrote this particular song during the infancy of the ME TOO movement. After hearing all of the stories on the news, reading the articles, watching the documentaries and stories on YouTube, I decided to write a song that reminded women of their glory, but also warned them of the fantasies that quickly turn into harsh realities. Women are not as protected as we should be. I’ve been cat-called, pursued aggressively and had my personal space and body violated. So I know that fear all too well. Men frequently have the privilege of walking into public spaces while not having to worry about being sexually assaulted. But make no mistake, this experience is not just isolated to just women, but statistically, this happens more to us than any other demographic. I want women to be safe. I want women to listen to the messages of wise women and pay attention to that voice in the pit of their stomach that tells them...WARNING. If you’re going out— Drink and act responsibly. Bring someone with you that you trust. Be mindful of yourself and your surroundings—because some people are looking to steal and take things from you that you’d never accumulate enough money, status or wealth to afford back. It’s your sunlight....it’s your blue skies...it’s your moonlight. Cherish it and be careful with it. Your artistic persona is filled with absolute electricity! Do you find you maintain this personality when you aren't performing/recording? Thank you! I’m living for these compliments this morning. But yes..my personality is HUGE and it transcends the stage. At the end of one of my favorite quotes my Dr.Angelou, she said, “People will remember how you made them feel.” This sentiment is super important to me because it’s my job to make you feel something when I’m on that stage. That electricity starts with your curiosity but ends with our connection. But then It’s also my job to be that same force when I’m just the homegirl, the friend, the sister, the auntie, the daughter— I gotta be able to bring my full self to every table and I hope and pray people fell comfortable enough to live in that space with me as wholly and fulfilled as possible to just be themselves and feel at home around me. It was great talking about your latest single! Do you plan to release any new music in the near future, or even possible shows you can tell our readers about? Ahhhh, thank you!! I really appreciate BuzzMusic for building a platform for indie artist to be discovered and spotlighted. I’m just so thankful and grateful for this opportunity! And yes... I’m currently in the studio working on an EP called “Hurts Before it Heals”. This has to be the most vulnerable I’ve ever been with my music. I have my new video, “Prelude to Closure” coming out in early November and that’s one of the most difficult songs that I ever had the pleasure of writing, but I digress, I’ll be performing at the Pinhook in Durham, NC on November 18th at 8pm as well as the Raleigh Convention Center on November 16th as a musical guest for Inkspired and tickets for both shows are on sale at Eventbrite. Thank you again BuzzMusic for having me. Connect with Janelle Sy'mone on social media: www.instagram.com/therealjanellesymone www.facebook.com/Janelle-Symone #BuzzMusic

Quun and Bartolomeo teamed up mid-2018 to form The Paper Flowers. They knew from the moment they first recorded together that they had authentic chemistry that would enhance their ability as artists like never before. Based in Santa Cruz, California, the duo combines deeply personal lyricism with catchy eletro-pop soundscapes. This combination allows the listener to find small moments of escapism embedded into The Paper Flowers’ work. They’re latest EP “In A Different Life” pays a nod to the 80’s through their use of synth-pop aesthetics, they leave you feeling nostalgic, yet seemingly refreshed by their alluring arrangements. Featured on the EP, “The Wolf” brings through a compelling sense of beauty, togetherness, and intention. The Paper Flowers have a sound, unlike anything we’ve heard in recent months and are a welcome addition to our playlists. We recommend you give them a listen and stay tuned for what they deliver next! Listen to “The Wolf” here and check out our interview with The Paper Flowers below! Hey Quun and Bartolomeo! Great to have you here on BuzzMusic. Any words you'd like to share with our readers about the way you articulate your music together? B & Q: Thanks for having us! Our musical journey together began with us being fans of each other's solo music, and The Paper Flowers is a perfect melting pot of both of our different styles and sensibilities. The Paper Flowers is our passion project and, as we like to describe it, a musical diary for the both of us. Our process of creating is highly emotional and therapeutic, and our music reflects that heavily. “The Wolf" was a very versatile and compelling track. Are you able to dive deeper into the honest meaning of the song? Q: "The Wolf" was written closer to the final stages of the EP being done, we were in the process of moving from Santa Cruz to Los Angeles and staying near Yosemite to finish the EP. The song was written about the girl that I was dating in Santa Cruz. It was a bad relationship and I was finally leaving Santa Cruz and leaving her. The song is about the last minute feelings you get after leaving a bad relationship, right before you finally get over the person. When you're leaving for good and not looking back. When you think about all the good things that happened between you two, but in the end you know it's best to keep moving along in life. Who has had the biggest influence on your life musically thus far? Can you describe the impact this particular individual has had in terms of your new EP “In A Different Life”? B: Prince. Prince lives in every corner of my mind and has infiltrated every fiber of my being. His simple yet catchy and genius way of writing and producing music has created timeless and endlessly enjoyable songs that will be remembered forever. Creating that kind of music has sort of been our goal too, although our own emotional outpouring comes first and foremost with our music, everything else is secondary. The songs in your repertoire remain diverse, yet familiar enough to develop your true sound. What song in your catalog would you say perfectly describes your sound? B: Start Over New has got to be the best summation of what we’re trying to say with our music. It’s somber and reflective lyrically, with a sound to match, and that’s just us in a nutshell. It was amazing showcasing "The Wolf" to our listeners, and getting to know you as an artist in the process! Any words you'd like to leave the BuzzMusic community off with? B & Q: Thank you so much for the opportunity! We currently are almost finished recording our full length album and it is absolutely phenomenal, so be on the lookout for it by following our socials for updates! - NEW MUSIC RADAR: Reno Reagan Just Dropped Him Debut EP “Blaq”
Reno Reagan discovered his passion for music at an impressively young age. Born and raised in Chicago, IL, Reno Reagan took his love for hip-hop and began booking major dj’ing gigs by the time he was 15 years old! By the age of 16, he was mastering his craft of producing as well as working towards being a recording artist himself. Since relocating to Los Angeles, California, Reno Reagan has worked with a diverse group of legendary artists. He recently released his debut EP “Blaq”, available wherever you stream your music! “On Me” is the introduction track on Reno Reagan’s new EP “Blaq” and makes for a strong starting point if you’re new to his music. While the lyrics feel notably rooted in the drive and confidence of modern rap, the music, and Reno Reagan’s vocals add a unique authenticity. “On Me” is hip hop with a certain identity and difference to it. It’s an easy anthem for contemporary hip hop fans. Reno Reagan drives with a simple lust for life with catchy hooks, laid-back concepts, professionalism, and style. This release is far from the exception and offers yet another track that further cement Reno Reagan’s sound and approach as an artist. “On Me” is a song that connects a little more strongly with every few moments that pass by, and with each repeated listen. While that initial quirk of the concept and the hook, is the first to grab you, the song goes on to lead with a notably energizing beat, a heavy vibe, great rhythm, and something more of an alternative, late-night aura than anything purely designed for the pop world. Well worth a few listens! Listen to “On Me ” here and read more with Reno Reagan’s below. Hey there Reno Reagan! Thanks for showcasing your music here on BuzzMusic! Can you share with our readers the challenges behind releasing your debut project “Blaq”? I literally was born into music. My mother was a famous blues singer, who would sing and play music every day in every room of our home. I learned how to play the piano by ear at 6. Then I picked up the guitar at 12. But with the lifestyle the streets lay out for you, its hard to stay focused on art when you have to worry about survival. Rap music allowed me to do both. “On Me” was an incredible intro track! Where did the inspiration for this track come from? Were your emotions driven by personal experience? This project, "BLAQ" represents the beginning, being that all things in existence came from the darkness (BLAQ). This is the beginning of my journey as an artist. My coming through the darkness of all creation. How do you imagine your listeners feel when listening to “On Me”? What’s the intended goal for your listening base? I really want my listeners to feel this project. To be able to relate to it, as well as take away from the insight they didn't have before. Can you explain how your music stands out from others? What is the most integral element of your music, specifically? It's in my blood. It's art. Never dies. Only gets better with age... Thanks again Undead Papi for featuring “On Me” here on BuzzMusic! Do you have any upcoming shows to gain traction for the track? Currently, I'm further expanding my lane as an artist. I'm looking to book shows and get as much exposure as possible!! My full-length album in the works as well. Stay tuned... Connect with Reno Reagan: www.instagram.com/renoreagan www.twitter.com/RenoReagan #BuzzMusic

Welcome to BuzzMusic Chad Watson! Are you able to start this interview off by explaining to our readers how you knew the music scene was for you? Let me start off by saying thank you BuzzMusic for having me. Early on I was put into Conservatory school, and trained in music theory. Coming from a musical family, and being creative myself, it was a very natural transition into making my own music. The craft of your music is meticulously capturing! The kind of confidence and energy we felt throughout "Chad Chad Chad" was especially entrancing. Does this type of intensity come naturally to you when you're recording, or is it an element you had to craft over time? Good question. I appreciate the kind words. To answer your question, the intensity that I gave in Chad Chad Chad, both comes naturally and is an element that I cracked it over time. I like to feel that something should be raw and gifted like Talent, yet also be honed and skilled like any other craft. So I embody that when I record and perform. What was the intended atmosphere for listeners when listening to "Chad Chad Chad"? When I record my songs, to be very candid it's a vulnerable side of me. So I try to just lay it all out on the line...and I always feel grateful when listeners resonate with the message. However they feel or choose to go, all is gratifying to me. Tell us about your experience in the music world in Los Angeles! There's such an incredible music world here, and we're curious how you use this to your advantage as an artist? The experience in Los Angeles in this music scene almost can be put into words. I've rubbed elbows with the biggest names, performed with chart-topping artists, and even had my songs mixed by Grammy award-winning engineers. This scene is especially saturated, but for the fortunate and blessed few, it can be everything dreams are made of. I try to remain humble and remember where I came from, and use this as my fuel to just keep pushing forward. Thanks for coming on here to talk about yourself and your music! Experience the tranquility of Neon BLK's voice in "Percs & Pills" here, and don't forget to check out his interview below! Welcome Neon BLK! Let's jump right into your latest release "Percs & Pills"! Are you able to describe the integral message behind this particular track? Percs & Pills is a metaphorical song about becoming instantly infatuated with a crush after locking eyes with each other. Its almost like love at first sight, comparing it to taking drugs and hallucinating on that feeling. Also comparing my crush as if they were a God. The song is produced by MNDBD, and it is the 2nd single off my debut mixtape slated to be released this late fall. "Percs & Pills" is flowy, it's tranquil, and ultimately what we love: harmonious. Your voice glides across our ears incredibly easily! Was it difficult to obtain these certain elements to the track, or did you have a pretty good go at manifesting this styling? No, it wasn't difficult at all actually. I've been writing for over 10 years now, so I've gotten very adept at being able to write lyrics, compose, and come up with a concept very quickly. The producer of the song, MNDBD, let me the instrumental after reaching out to him on Soundcloud. As you said, it is very tranquil and I instantly fell in love with the sound. At the time, I was deeply infatuated and had to get those emotions out, and that's when I developed the concept of Percs & Pills. I wrote described my crush as a God basically. How do you believe your extensive experience within the music world has aided in your development as an artist and musician? I've been a musician since I was 12 in the 6th grade. I played the trombone in the jazz band all throughout middle and high school, so I was exposed to competitions, gigs, and various other events. I also started writing my own songs at 15 years old. It wasn't until college when I started to learn how to sing at 19. I became a voice major my freshman at Texas Southern University where I was primarily trained in classical and operatic styles of singing and even competed in regional competitions where I was a finalist at one point. Being a voice major has taken me places internationally as well as Beijing, China, so I've experienced a lot of musically which I do think has aided me in my development as an artist. Let's talk about your upcoming release "Interpretations"! How did the writing and recording process go for this track? What's one element you're looking forward to upon its release? My upcoming debut mixtape "INTERPRETATIONS" was a concept I developed when I decided to make my music happen. The writing process started in January of 2017 when I was 23. I started writing about my experiences since that year started and wanted to originally focus on channeling my pessimism and outlook towards what I saw as negativity in my life. Back then I was a year out of a relationship but still dealing with an ex so I would write about those issues. After purchasing my own recording equipment with my refund money, because I was in school at the time, I started writing more songs and trying to record others. I had to pause it because I was trying to join a fraternity at the time, but after that, I went on and tried to finish. My laptop I was using completely flatlined so I was halted once again. During winter break of 2017, I resumed again and decided I was going to finally get into someone's studio. All of 2018 I was recording various tracks and pushing forward, and then in changed the direction of the concept after developing new feelings for an unattainable crush. I started to focus more on that while still keeping some of the original songs written. Once a new line-up of music started to catch me I made sure to grab them and write and write. I recorded the rest of the music this year and I'm putting the final touches for it to be released this November. Excited to finally release this almost 3-year-old project. I hope to really capture people's emotions when I come to do unrequited love and dealing with the end of a previous relationship, and I hope to really show what kind of artist and musician I truly am. Hopefully, people will catch the same vibe and dark chill imagery I'm putting out. Thanks for coming to BuzzMusic to talk about your recent music Neon BLK! Are there potential shows in the near future to promote your latest releases? The pleasure is all mine! Thank you guys for giving me this opportunity to showcase and talk about my music! I do plan to finally branch out on the Indie Houston scene and perform at various open mic spots and art shows. Hopefully, earn a spot for a Winter Houston Showcase that's happening in December. Stay Tuned! Check out Neon BLK's socials below for more on the artist! Facebook Instagram #BuzzMusic
- BuzzMusic Interviews 24Kay On Latest Release "Is It Me"!
Hey 24Kay! Congratulations on the release of "Is It Me"! How do you feel about this track release to your listeners?! I feel like it’s one of my best tracks due to what I was going through when I made it. It’s a different type of flow from 24. I had a lot on my mind and plate but still made a hit for my listeners. How do you find the creation process typically goes for the majority of your tracks? I honestly just pour out my feelings on any beat. The beat and my emotions have to come together that’s usually my process on creating Another 24Demar banger. You began in the music world pretty early on as an artist! How do you feel your track "Is It Me" compares to the sound of your tracks when you first began recording? This track is another due to the first couple of hits I created. The more you perfect your craft the better sound you’ll get. When u first made “Is It Me” I listened to it at least over 200+ times no cap. We know that music has been lightly integrated within your family! Do you feel having this early connection with music and your family has aided in shaping the overall quality and sound of your music today? Honestly, only a couple of my family members had anything to do with music in my generation. I’m the first to take it as far as I am now. Most of my family don’t listen to my music nor help me with it. I got where I'm at on my own. There’s nothing wrong with it and I don’t feel any way about it. Somethings are done better alone than with anybody. How did it feel to collaborate with Demar? Would you collaborate again? I love the collabs Demar & I got together. We’re like Malone & Stockton. I’d always collab with Demar. We got some new stuff cooking up as we speak just wait on it. Thanks for talking with us here at BuzzMusic 24Kay! We're hyped to see what you have in store for us next. Any hints on when we can expect to see more music from you? It’s always a pleasure being able to tell my listeners and fans about what I got stored for them. Always be looking out for more work from 24, I got a lot of music about to drop and more shows on the way trust. Listen to 24Kay's latest track here, and don't forget to check out 24Kay's Instagram for the latest updates on the artists' work! #BuzzMusic
