- Nordi Blu Released Her Dynamically Driven Single “Skin”
Singing has always been intimate and necessary as breathing was to Nordi Blu who grew up singing with women on the french side of her family and guitar. Nordi Blu released her single titled “Skin” and this dynamically powerful single was emotionally convicting and extensive in elements. The message was what intrigued me the most, however her poetic songwriting seemed to have represented something deep and contextual. The production of the beat was highly augmented and climaxed in dynamics. Nordi Blu is an impressive vocalist. Her rich in texture, poised with a bashful delivery, makes this song a striking and electrifying hit. “Skin” is the perfect song for those seeking music with meaning. If you enjoy a good vocal belt with an elevating production, “01 Skin” is the record for you. Listen to "Skin" here and get to know more about Nordi Blu on social media Welcome to Buzzmusic Nordi Blu! Mind telling us a bit about how you discovered your passion for music? Thank you, and thank you guys so much for having me! I started singing with my mother and my grandmother during our car rides when I was growing up in France. It was a great way to pass the time as a child, and it's how I learned the foundations of pitch and harmonizing. I've got no training other than what the French women in my family have taught me. Passion came later, and was actually discovered for me. I was sitting in the common area in my rehab (I was a bad teenager) with a good friend. He started playing "House of the Rising Sun" on the guitar, and since I knew it, I started singing along. The music teacher walked by as I started singing the song, and she told me "you've got to perform, kid". I played my first live show with that same friend on the guitar and I have been working on my craft ever since. Music became a way to heal and grow and continues to be just that for me today. What are some lessons you’ve learned so far in your journey as an artist that has impacted and essentially benefited your artistry? I've learned some tough lessons, especially recently. My debut single "Skin" actually deals with these tough lessons a lot. At the end of the day, this is an industry and we are all working towards making the best possible music for our fans and audiences. There are a lot of pitfalls that I have encountered along the way, but they have made me stronger and inspired me to be the independent artist that I am today. Something else I've learned recently is: a song will never be perfect. Do your absolute best, get it to the best possible version that it can be and release it! “Skin” seems to have a strong message underlying the lyrics. What was this song about? What inspired you to write it? You're absolutely right, "Skin" is one sassy song! "Skin" is the fiery and gritty tale of hard work, rolling up your sleeves and getting through the intricacies of the music industry as an independent artist. Many false promises get made to independent artists, and these false promises are what made me pick myself back up and self-release "Skin" with the help of my fans, friends and family. There is no reason to let people push you around, especially when your "neck is on the line". What was the most challenging aspect in creating “Skin” and why? I think the most challenging aspect of creating "Skin" was facing up to how difficult being an independent artist can be, and having the courage to point a finger at the way the industry treats us at times. I'm proud that I was able to stand up for myself, and I hope that I can inspire other artists to stand up for themselves too. What’s next for you Nordi Blu? I actually just booked a one way ticket to LA! I'll be moving from Berlin back to California on September 24th, and am excited to bring my career directly into the heart of the industry. I hope my debut single "Skin" will create some momentum and get me into the right rooms with the right people to discuss what's next for NordiBlu. I've got plenty of ideas, and I can't wait to share them with the world very soon! Connect with Nordi Blu on social media: www.instagram.com/nordiblu www.twitter.com/nordiblu #BuzzMusic
- Aaron B. Thompson Spreads His Message Of Acceptance In “Come Along With Me”
Aaron B. Thompson is an independent Canadian indie artist from Ontario. A self-proclaimed “late bloomer”, he’s getting his shot in the music industry a little later than most. Aaron is in recovery after struggling with addiction through most of his twenties. Now a dedicated husband and father, Aaron says, “...without my family I’d probably be dead or lead some bleak, lonely existence. I definitely wouldn’t have found sobriety and written all these songs about love, pain and redemption.” His music is a deeply moving reflection of his own narrative, what he’s been through and a way to connect with his audiences. He hopes to spark similarities in other people's lives to give them a sense of connection and to show them they are not alone. Aaron’s latest release “Come Along With Me” radiates with vivid confidence and empowerment. The sense of acceptance and comfort runs deep throughout this contagious single. Aaron B. Thompson has flawlessly blended synth pop, indie rock, with undertones of folk pop in his vocals. I love the meaningful message of community and joining together. Whether you interpret “Come Along With Me” as a love song, or a powerful theme of togetherness, Aaron has created an inspiring new hit to galvanize the music industry today. This song is appropriate for any occasion, it’s guaranteed to have you toe tapping and singing along. I highly recommend you check out “Come Along With Me” here and read more with Aaron B. Thompson in our exclusive interview below! Hey Aaron! We’re so excited about your new single “Come Along With Me”! What do you hope your listeners take away from this song? This song is about going after a dream and having people you love around you to share the chase with. Dreams are amazing, if you have one you should go after it! What inspires you to be the artist and person you are today? I’m inspired by the world around me. Personally I am inspired by the hard stuff in life. I started songwriting as a therapy in my addiction recovery. A lot of my songs are born out of that time, except this one, of course, it’s about the good stuff of life. I guess I was always mostly connected to the bummer tracks on albums (yes, I grew up when albums were a thing). Whether it was hip hop, folk or indie stuff I was always into the introspective stories that pulled at the pain. What is your favorite lyric within “Come Along With Me”? “We’ll have anthem hearts and eyes that sing” we recently moved across Canada, family of 5 and our boston terrier Paulie. It was a mystery as to how it going to play out. Kids are unpredictable little people. But they crushed the move and eased into their new life with ease. They embodied that lyric. What kicked off your music career? My music career really began in middle school. That’s where it dug it’s hooks into me. Unfortunately, my late teens and early twenties were hard years. I wasted a lot of time being held down by addiction. In 2008 I started my road to recovery and used songwriting as a way to deal with, or at least process, the regret and people I’d hurt or ending my relationship with alcohol. It had been a part of me for a long time. At any rate, after a lot of years of playing for the basement walls I decided record one song called “Alder Ave”. It was a good first effort haha. After that I began to write a lot more and here we are today. What’s next for you? The “Recovery.” Album is what’s next for me and this is the first single from the record. There’s a video coming out in the fall that launches with my recovery story. It’s scored by a track from the album called “Back To Where We Started”. I’m really excited to release it! - 5 Questions: Mic Rocca
Welcome to Buzzmusic Mic Rocca! Talk to us about your background and upbringing. How did you find your love for music? Were you ever inspired by your environment? No problem, thanks for having me. I found my love for music through listening to my parents play oldies back in the day. Also, in the 6th grade I developed a love for writing poetry then that transpired into writing rhymes. My environment inspires me day to day, were I come from it’s good and bad. If you not hustling or working towards something you feel empty inside. My environment is motivation to do what I do, go out there and prosper. Your single "Peace" is a Powerful offering. Considering this single hints on the topic of Gun Violence in America, What prompted you to create this record? Honestly, I wrote this record a few hours before getting to the studio, with Nipsey Hussle in mind. The lost of Nip was a lot bigger than I think we all expected, so the first thing that came to mind was “Stop killing”, that goes for whoever, gang members, law enforcement, normal citizens, everybody just stop. How challenging was it for you to go for an impactful approach as you did on "Peace"? It was very challenging, figuring out a way to get a message through that says, “I don’t condone violence”...”but I will defend myself if I have to” it’s a two sided message, but I feel most people kill because they fear something. That’s definitely not a reason to take someone’s life, because none of us is God, we don’t know the significance of each ones presence or the work that is set for them on this earth. What do you hope your listener gain from listening to "Peace"? What's the main message you'd like delivered? What I want someone to gain from Peace , is exactly that. Peace. With all the mass killings going on, I felt to release this song immediately, on soundcloud free of charge, so the masses can hear, Peace. Maybe if someone hear it from someone they are influenced by they’ll take a different approach when it comes to a confrontation with another person. Your future is seemingly bright. What can we expect next from Mic Rocca? Next up I’ll be releasing a bunch of new singles and visuals. Look out for my album “The Rocca Cycle” Volume 4. - INTERVIEW: MachGang
Welcome to BuzzMusic MachGang! We think it's great that you're still pursuing education as well. what's your major? how do you manage to maintain both school and music? My major is Electrical Engineering and it is hard to manage both school and music so i'm still figuring out how to manage it especially since engineering takes so much of your time, but if this song can get really big I might take a break from school and focus on music only. What was the inspiration behind the name "MachGang"? It's super creative and unique! The name MachGang originated from me trying to come up with a dope twitter header name for when I was supposed to get twitter famous, which didn't happen. I used to switch up the last part of my name after Mach, Mach being the first part of my last name which is Machiri, like for example MachCash, MachMoney, MachMe, but MachGang was the one I liked the most. One thing you should know is my last name is pronounced "Match-erie" so MachGang is pronounced "Match-Gang". We loved your single "Get Out" ! was this your first record? Did you face any challenges creating it? Yes, Get Out was my first record ever and it all came together pretty nicely but writing it was not easy because this was the first time i ever attempted to rap. How do you plan on elevating your next song from a hit like "Get Out"? What can our listeners expect differently? I plan on elevating the next song by continuing with my style rap but telling a different story. People should expect a more happy mood song then get out. What's next for MachGang? What's next for me is to release a couple more songs and if people are still loving me then ill go all in into music and hopefully I can become something big, but for now I'll just take my time and release songs when I think it's really good. - Getting To Know Keen Sounds
What's up Keen Sounds! What motivated you to pursue music? When did you realize that this was the path for you? Hey what’s up, I was motivated to do music just from my love for the art. I’ve always loved music since being a kid. I realized as a teenager that music was the path for me. Your single "Rockz" really had us vibing! What was the main vision you had when creating this record? Thank you for the compliment, My vision was to make a high energy down south feel song. I feel like that Particular piece was missing from my catalog. What are some challenges you faced during the creation of "Rockz" and in what ways did you overcome these obstacles? Well I usually don’t use melodies or harmonize with auto tune so that was a bit of a challenge. I overcame this obstacle by taking some time listening to a few future and lil baby songs to perfect the cadence of the hook. Who are your three biggest musical influences who have helped shape your career in the music industry? I would say I’m influenced a lot by artist like Jay Z, J. Cole, and Big Sean to name a few We're extremely excited to see where you take your career next! You have promising talent. can you give us a small hint on what we can expect from you these next few months? Thank you so much I really appreciate that. - 5 Questions with Untdld
Welcome to BuzzMusic Untdld! tell us about your background in Philadelphia! have you ever felt inspired by your environment? I’ve actually been in Philly for 5 years now. The art, music, culture and history inspires me along with how hard my peers work on their music. There are so many local artist out here that I’ve grown to enjoy. Knowing you're aiming to create change with your music, mind detailing to us about the change you're seeking? Is it in music or society wise? Both music and society. I think in music their isn’t a lot of substance. It’s cool to turn up but what about the dude or girl that’s abusing substances or even themselves to “escape” the pain their living in? How do you reach them? Music is so powerful and my prayer is that my music touches someone. It doesn’t have to be a lot of people just someone then I’ve done my job and by doing some that can effect our society. After listening to your single "Noise" we felt super connected to the song. What was the message behind this track? Noise is personal. It first started with a teaching my pastor taught called Noise. He was pretty much comparing obstacles, setbacks, etc. as noise or things that can cloud Gods voice. For example, God has heard us but the symptoms you face says other wise, that’s noise. I went home and started writing. During the writing process me and my wife started facing some issues with finances. Seemed like more was going out than coming in. During that I rewrote the song and found different production. I wanted to encourage myself that even during these hard times block out the “noise” because a breakthrough is on the way. Focus on that What emotion did you channel in while writing "Noise"? Was it challenging? The scenario was challenging and trying to formulate it into words was tough. I literally just cut my mic on, closed my eyes and just spilled my heart. What's next for you Untdld? Since you asked, I am working on project. I can’t reveal the title yet lol. But it is going to be something special. I feel like this is my best work. I’ve grown a lot and I’ve found my sound and it’ll be evident on this project. There will be a couple of music videos and a release concert in Philly. The time frame is to be decided. Connect with Untdld on social media www.instagram.com/_untdld www.twitter.com/_untdld

Growing up, my favorite artists were Biggie and Jay-Z so that is where I get a lot of my style and musical inspiration from. What's the most challenging aspect of being an upcoming artist and how do you maneuver through this obstacle? The biggest challenge I have encountered would have to be exposure. I highly recommend you check out the entire “No Holiday” EP and stay tuned for more from Jimmy Swag. Listen to “Maybe” here and read more with Jimmy Swagg below! Hey Jimmy, welcome to BuzzMusic! Was there something or someone in your life that inspired you to start making music? There have been so many that have shaped me and my art. But to say that someone or something inspired me would be incorrect. My mother has tapes of me as a baby beating pots as a drum and singing my heart out! Music is me and I am music! There’s no other way to explain it. I ran away from music for a long time, came back and misunderstood music, which led me to today...the most I’ve ever been in love with music! What’s you debut single “Maybe” all about? What was the writing process like for you? I moved to Los Angeles from Waco, Texas five years ago and I’ve faced some of the toughest challenges that have given me new levels of perception of this life, my life. I feel like my life fell completely apart in a very slow way in 2018. Music, writing, and exercising have helped me move forward! Of course, expressing myself for the first time as an artist meant I could say whatever I wanted o say! And what I wanted to say was that I was broken, hurt, sad, scared, and confused! “Maybe” is an acknowledgement of all these feelings, thoughts, and emotions while at the same time declaring that I’ll do whatever it takes to be happy. Fuck, the saying is true...your best comes out of the darkness! What artists influence your music? That’s a tricky question because it’s more of like, what do I feel I need and want?! I’ll fall in love with an artist or band all over again after them being absent in my musical life for years! That’s why I love music! There are no fuckin’ rules! And all these “professionals” trying to tell people what to do...fuck that! Go do it yourself! The one band that has truly hit home and has helped me liberate this artistry within me has been the Red Hot Chili Peppers, more specifically Anthony Kiedis. I just finished reading his autobiography and I was completely inspired. I felt such a strong connection to his struggle and his battle within himself over his own vocal ability....I love that he shared that because damn, I struggle with that at times too! What do you hope your listeners take away from your EP “No Holiday”? I want listeners to FEEL something! I’m not or here preaching or trying to convert anyone to my music. Fuck that! I want listeners to know that I feel them, I hear them, and I desire with such a passion to be able to translate all those emotions into my music...OUR MUSIC. Listen, I work very fuckin’ hard every day! Those that truly know me, know that his is no exaggeration. So this album is dedicated to my fellow Mexicans that work so hard for a better future and for their families. This album goes out to all those from my hometown that have had to fight and who want more out of life. This album goes out to my family that shaped this desire and helped me turn it into a real creation. And to all those reading or listening, thank you...I am nothing without your love and support! What’s next for Jimmy Swagg? More music and always more music! I want to be the best in the world! And I’m doing everything possible to make that happen. I want to reach new audiences around the world! I want to entertain the masses everywhere and anywhere. And I want to give you, the world, my life, in everything I do, with my best efforts always, hoping to inspire you, and hoping you fuckin’ throw your horns up for ROCK! I came up with the name as irony, since a dress code is rules about style or appearance and I wanted to do the musical opposite of that from by influenced by different genres of music (dance/electronic, rock, funk, etc.) What was your upbringing into music like? How did you get started? I've been playing music for as long as I can remember. I used to get toy instruments as a kid and got real ones when I was older. I started out on the drums, then went to guitar and bass later on, and then electronic instruments after that. I also got into songwriting from reading lyric sheets that came with different albums and CDs I had and would try to write my own verses and choruses. After all that, I started producing my own tracks from experimenting with different home recording gear. What goal did you strive to achieve with “Ride Tonight”? What inspired it? "Ride Tonight" is about when you have time to yourself and want to get away from your everyday routine. I wanted it to be an upbeat dance track with some rock influences. What are three things you want your fans to know about you? 1. They keep me motivated and wanting to do more.2. I play instruments left-handed 3. I'm always looking for new musical ideas and thinking about what's next. Where do you pull inspiration from? Inspiration can come from anywhere for me. It can be from seeing a great live show, meeting different people, finding out about some new band/artist and hearing them for the first time, or even rediscovering something that I haven't heard in a long time.
