Hello Byron! Please introduce yourself to our BuzzMusic community! Hey y’all, I’m Byron Freeman—I am an all around entertainer from East Orange, NJ and a recent graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theater from Pace University. I like to think I am the kind of artist that will take you on a JOURNEY! From belting it out loud to kicking my leg up to my head—I give a FULL SHOW! My dream has always been to be a professional and world renowned R&B/Soul/Pop recording artist/entertainer. Being able to inspire and connect with people through my art brings me more joy and comfort than I could ever truly express. When I see people moved by something I created, it humbles me like nothing else. I have also performed and worked alongside some well-known artists such as Yolanda Adams, BeBe Winans, Cynthia Erivo, Keala Settle, Michael John-LaChiusa, Kenny Rogers, and Darren Criss where I’ve learned so much. I currently have 3 singles out on all platforms, and my newest release “By My Side” dropping on July 30th, with my first full EP set to drop this Fall. To keep it simple, the end goal is to be able to show anyone out there that their dreams are infinitely possible as long as they stay consistent, always do their best, and most importantly, have fun doing it all. And that’s exactly what I plan to do for as long as I am here. Tell us about your experience curating "Relax", and how the creative process was? The same night I wrote “Relax” I wrote 3 other songs in under 3 hours, “Relax” being the last of the collection. I was coming home from my dance teaching job in NYC, and I was feeling so inspired. At the time, my first two singles were already out and streaming, but I knew it was time for a different sound. Something more cool, fun, and opposite of my baritone operatic voice. I wanted to make music that sounded like Trap & Soul mixed with a lot of R&B. Each of the songs I am referencing are all on my upcoming EP and are exactly the direction I wanted to take creatively. I wanted a song that just felt RIGHT and when I heard the beat for “Relax” I wrote the whole thing in 15 minutes on a train platform at night in the snow. Literally! LOL. I usually never get to sing songs that are super chill and easy to listen to, and I wanted to write one of my own, and it honestly just fell into my life at the right time. "Relax" is incredibly entrancing, we feel absolutely lost in your voice. What was the kind of mood you wanted to set for listeners in the song? Thank you so much for that, it truly means the world. When writing “Relax” I wanted people to have something that made them feel sexy, cool, and just happy to be living. One of those songs you can’t wait for it to be summer so you can blast it driving down the street. Just something to get lost into. A song that just felt GOOD and RIGHT! And I really hope that comes across. What would you say is the most integral element to your music? I honestly think that the most integral part of my music (and my favorite part also) is the vocal production and lyrics. I studied Opera/Classical Voice for 10 years starting at the age of 9. And although I know R&B/Soul is about raw emotion and not being picture perfect, I take pride in making sure I have a strong vocal presence, super tight harmonies, and combining that with the feelings. As far as lyrics go, I like to take my experiences and make it so that ANYONE can relate to it. I don’t want people to feel like my music is ONLY FOR ME. I want them to know that I’ve been through it too and that they are not alone. So I am extremely careful about allowing my lyrics to remain open and relatable across the masses. Tell us more about your performances! We see you've performed in a few locations now, how was it? Now when it comes to performing, I am a COMPLETELY different beast! My entire life’s training and experience has been about live performance, from opera to dance to acting—you name it. When I feel the rush of the crowd, I lose myself. I thrive off of it. Recently I had my first debut concert as a recording artist at The Delancey in NYC on June 14th. I sang ALL of my original music and I even had a huge 5-minute dance break with some amazing backup dancers. Since then, I have dedicated myself to performing and booking shows at least 3 times a month to help promote myself and my music. I love the studio and rehearsal, but there is nothing like being out there on that stage. Performing is literally all I know and for me, life is a stage and I love it more and more every single day. I go by the name D-Black. I’m always in something black so it fit me. Originally from the East Side of Long Beach, CA. I have been in the music industry for less than a year; February of 2019 to be exact. I’ve always loved music since a kid. My grandmother put me on to the oldies and once I heard gangster rap/HipHop it was a wrap lol. I grew up in a violent environment so I gravitated more to that type of music. It became therapeutic. I would jokingly freestyle in the hood and people would say I was really good. I knew I could rap, but I didn’t care to be a rapper at the time. It was always a hobby and to relieve stress. When I saw how easy was it was to make it with streams I decided to take it serious. February 2019, Juggernaut Music Group was born. Who are you top three musical influences? Why? 2Pac, Jay-Z, and Nipsey Hussle. 2Pac taught me to be proud of who I am, to stand tall and fight back by any means necessary. Jay-Z taught me how to get rich from music and Nipsey taught me how to control my own destiny in this industry. All money in, no money out. No middleman. They gave me the blueprint to beat the matrix. We love your track “Breadwinner”! What inspired this track? Thank you very much, I really appreciate the love. I’ve been a grinder since birth. I refuse to let anyone hold me back. Anyone who knows me knows my work ethic is like a machine, I have to be the hardest working person in the room. I have no time to waste. I’m fully focused on my craft and attaining as much success as I can not only in this game, but in life in general. “Breadwinner, I can’t take no losses”. What do you want your listeners to take away from your music? I want people to take away hope. My music should motivate you to get it out the mud by any means necessary. Failure is not an option. Nobody gave me anything, I have no co-signs. I did it my way. I own my own label, masters and publishing. So can they. I believe all of my listeners can achieve anything they put their minds too, I stand on it. What’s next for you D-Black? And at that moment I wrote down "Hard Regin Vol.1" and after I finish reading and writing, I keep thinking that; like My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ I want my music to regin also. But that's where I got my theme from. What’s next for you Fugod? I'm working on a album called "God's Son" instrumentals by legion beats (IG:@legionbeats). And currently writing a short film called "New Warleans" It's about good vs evil. When God speaks to one man, God saves the man's faith. Which causes a chain of violent events. Continue reading for Christa's exclusive interview with us at BuzzMusic. Welcome to BuzzMusic Christa Joy. in what ways has your upbringing and background impacted your music and style? I grew up in rural New England in a working-class family. In a lot of ways, church singing, choir singing, and a musical upbringing set the foundation for my growth as a songwriter. My brother, sister and I stood around my Grandmother's organ singing old hymns or learning scales on my Grandfather's piano. My grandfather was a pianist and tenor singer, who like me, was also a teacher. My Mom was incredibly supportive of my music during her life. She woke up an hour early to drive me to choir groups that met before school. She shuttled me to musical theater rehearsals and concerts. Music was always important to her as well, so we shared that passion. Other influences were the LP's played in my living room-the combined collections from my parents' earlier years: Peter Paul & Mary, Carole King, Johnny Cash, The Beatles, Kenny Rogers, Roy Orbison, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Dolly Parton, and Emmylou Harris. My father has been a truck driver on and off throughout my life. When we made him mix-tapes for the road, we'd put together his favorite driving tunes: Traveling Wilburys, Creedence, The Eagles... Who would you consider some of your main inspirations and influences? Patsy Cline, Gillian Welch, Carole King, and Emmylou Harris. What was the most challenging aspect of creating “Get On, Heart!”? The main obstacle most independent musicians face is funding. I have been blessed to be supported by hundreds of listeners and friends through three separate successful Kickstarter campaigns. This most recent campaign was highlighted by No Depression's "Crowdfunding Campaigns of the Week," which helped with visibility. That and 121 bright sunbeams who funded my album with pre-orders through my Kickstarter. We recorded the album mostly live, which felt intimidating at the start. Recording live ended up being a liberating process for me and gave the recordings so much collective energy. I don't think I'll ever record differently going forward. The live band brings so much collaboration to the forefront of recording and the process only improved the songs I wrote for this collection. How would you describe the songwriting in this single? "Get On, Heart!" was a song I wrote in little spurts. Once that phrase, "And get on heart, just another false start, just another false start," took shape, the verses quickly fell around it. It's a light-hearted classic love-gone-wrong country song--fun to write and even more fun to sing. A lot of the songs on this record felt playful, spinning out stories full of archetypes (both characters and country writing stylings). I let myself have fun writing these songs about dusting yourself off and moving on. What’s next for you? "Get On, Heart!" is beginning to find traction in ways my other albums haven't. I'm excited to see who continues to find these songs and how new listeners receive these songs. When other people hear the songs and get excited about them, it's like the album has a life of it's own. Right now I am touring the album with my live band, "Christa Joy and the Honeybees." We'll be in and around the Northeast this fall and winter. I am also booking private house shows, which you can read more about on my website. In terms of other creative projects, I've begun a couple new songwriting collaborations that will likely lead to some singles in coming months. It's an exciting time! Clane sings with passion, we can experience the passion when hearing the emotion pour off of him while he's rapping his verses. "Season Of Love" speaks a lot on todays generation, and how captivated people are with social media. Clane incorporates impactful meaning into all of his tracks, and we really resonate with the message he's trying to reach to his listeners. Clane Matthew definitely didn't disappoint with "Season Of Love" (he rarely ever disappoints with his music) and it's safe to say we've all added it to our personal playlists. Check out "Season Of Love" here, and continue reading to get to know Clane Matthew in his interview below! Hey Clane! Welcome back again to BuzzMusic! We love hearing the songs you've been coming out with recently! Tell our readers more about what unique elements you're bringing with your new set of songs? Truth. Positivity. Awareness. Those are the elements I’m bringing back to the industry. The sounds of hip hop and mainstream music nowadays have been so saturated with the same sounds and same ridiculous ideas that it doesn’t even help the listeners. It’s about drugs, girls, alcohol, fast cars, money and all that stuff. So far I’ve barely seen any songs or any artists stepping up to make a change in these young people’s lives through their art; so it’s up to me to make that change. "Season Of Love" was stimulating to our senses. We loved the set tranquil tone of the track. Can you expand more on how the production was of this track, and what kind of mood you were trying to set with it? The production was simple. I didn’t want a song that had an exaggerated production or arrangement. I wanted something that even a 10 year old could listen to and understand, but also something a 40 year old could listen to and be changed by it. I tried my best to experiment on the flow in both verses, so I could offer something fresh and new to my fans. When I first sat down to make the instrumental, I wanted something groovy, that you can bop your head to and also something smooth and romantic, and that’s where the idea of the synth, steel drums, guitar and strings came together to make that sound. I wanted simple vocals, nothing too complex because it takes away from the message of the song. I have a coworker, her name is Nicole, and she’s an amazing singer. I asked her to sing on the track and she was happy to. Our voices instantly synced and I knew that this was gonna be a hit! When it came down to the mix, I had some help. I had one of my closest friends Delamar Hamilton back home in St. Thomas, Jamaica help me out with the mix. He made everything sound smooth and harmonic, and it was awesome. The idea of decreasing the song at the end by a couple of semitones and slowing the tempo down came to me at the last minute. I wanted to add something new that my fans have never heard from me before, so I added that also; and it sounded amazing. With this song I just wanted to be different and give a message that I think every girl/woman should hear. In your opinion, which was the most impactful lyric of "Season Of Love"? “You wanna be thinner, you wanna be thicker, you wanna be lighter, but it don’t matter cause being different is what makes you so damn beautiful”. If I wasn’t a big fan of the song, that line alone would change my opinion, because it doesn’t get much truer than that. So many women and girls in this world feel that because they’re not “thick” or because they’re not “thin” or because they’re too “dark”, automatically deem themselves as lesser and unattractive; and it’s not true. Being who you are, and living up to your own characteristics and features is the true meaning behind beauty. Television, society and media has created a standard in which women should comply to, in order to be seen as “beautiful”. This line says differently because no matter how you look, or what your features are, you will always be beautiful to me, and also beautiful to that true someone who has not found you yet. Would you personally say that your music is a huge reflection of your personal life? Yes it is! Throughout my years I’ve seen and experienced many things. Many of the songs talk about my own experiences, such as the Melancholic Therapy EP, and the others about things I’ve seen happen to relatives and close friends. These issues are things that are inevitable in our society and the ones who suffer through it don’t get much attention. And that’s why I bring those issues to light in my music, and hope that others who feel the same pain or same struggles will relate to it and be healed by the words and message. What do you think you'll be up to next? Planning on releasing more music in the near future? Any tours coming up? I’m actually gonna be on a three week vacation in August. I’ll be back home in Jamaica so I can rest my vocal chords! I’m kidding but I’ll just be visiting my family and friends I left back home and also enjoy the wonders of the island that I never got to experience. I definitely will have new music coming out. I wanted to drop the Season of Love EP at the end of this month, but this song I released from it has gotten so much buzz, I think I’m gonna have to delay it. Hopefully by the end of August I can drop it and then at the end of September I’ll drop the I’m Not A Rapper EP, which will be the nail in the coffin for my year long campaign. I’m actually not going on any tours at the moment. I’m actually using all the time I can to perfect my art before I go out into the touring world. I will be holding a Feed the Homeless campaign in downtown Orlando the week before thanksgiving, to give warm meals to the homeless. After that, I’ll be taking a three month break to focus on starting school again in the spring semester and then, I will start working on an album and start touring. It has been a great year and I just know 2020 will be amazing! Discover more on Clane Matthew and his upcoming releases/shows via his socials: Facebook Instagram Twitter #BuzzMusic

Claire is the type of artist where you can feel her audacious tone crisply through both her lyricism and vocal dynamics. Residing in Middlesbrough, United Kingdom, Claire has been producing tracks for 11 years, grasping tightly on her expertise and wisdom to bring to the music game in this day and age. Claire Allport is a well-rounded artist, and it's incredible what she has already accomplished as an artist today! We're excited to present her new music to the BuzzMusic community, especially those who fall in love with soulful pop ballads. Claire's "FAKE" is filled with drama, acquiring an overall confident and alluring tone. Claire is very aggressive with the execution of her vocalism, which allows for the robust and fast-paced environment "FAKE" gives off. The track definitely starts off with the hard-hitting and rough vocalism of Claire, integrating into a more soft and harmonious tone as the track continues on. The beat is undeniable catchy, we have to admit. Claire really picks the right tempo and rhythm for the type of track she curated. Claire sings "Please don't call me, I won't pick up. You bore me, I've had enough"--a clear ballad and verses many of us can relate to (especially when it comes to that certain someone we've had enough of). "FAKE" is fun, even though it adapts a more forward approach as an alternative pop track. We listened to "FAKE" once, and it wasn't enough to fully grasp the track and what it provides to the listener. And so, we listened to "FAKE" about 5 times before we officially became obsessed with the track. Give a listen, or possibly many listens, to "FAKE" here. Continue reading for Claire Allport's exclusive interview with BuzzMusic! Hi Claire! Let's talk about your upbringing as an artist--how did you grow up within the music scene? I started singing from a young age, however I put that to one side to gain my qualifications at college. Once completed, I focused on improving myself as a performer and had vocal coaching for 5 or 6 years. Within that time I was scouted for The Voice and X Factor UK. What would you say is the most important take-home message from your recent release "FAKE"? I would think the most important message is that you can cut people out of your life and not feeling guilty for doing so. We see you've been performing for quite some time as an artist! Tell us about how you feel when you're up on stage performing, and how the crowd's energy is during the performance?! Performing is something I’ve always loved doing . When I first started I suffered with nerves which affected my performance, however once I overcame them my performances changed dramatically . I always like to involve the crowd as much as I can when I’m performing, as their energy is something which you can feed off . I’m conscious of making sure the crowd has the best time possible . Would you say that your music is a big reflection of your personal life and experiences? Every song on my EP is based on real life experiences and issues . My 2nd track What If I, I wrote when I was in a very bad place and I think that is reflected within my vocal delivery and the mood of the song . My EP is titled Collecting Moments and that’s exactly what it is, it’s Moments which have happened in my life which I’ve taken the time to write about . What's next for you as an artist? I’m in the process of finishing my EP, I’ve got one more track to write and record and then I’ll be focusing on getting a band together and putting together my EP launch .
