Can you tell our readers a little bit about yourself? Well i'm an independent artist out of Minneapolis, MN. My music can be described as biblical hip hop with Hebraic roots. Reflecting what we go through as set-apart people of The Most High, but not negating the harsh realities that we live in. I grew up in North Minneapolis (roughest side of town). As a youth I grew up very Hip Hop, with the understanding of KRS-1; Hip Hop isn't just something you do, hip hop is something you live. So for me being hip hop was participating in as many elements as possible, and not merely just spectating. As a youth I use to paint Graffiti, Break dance, and freestyle with friends until we got older and got involved with street culture. This would eventually lead to me becoming closer with The Most High, and eventually leading up to me doing music now. What are some challenges you've faced getting your music out there? No support. I've had to groom my self, and learn tricks of the trade on my own. One of the most important things I've learned is confidence.  You have to be as an independent artist. When no ones there to show any kind of support there is no room for self doubt. I've had to learn to step out of comfort zone, and adapt. Tell us about “Watcha Life ‘Bout” and the meaning behind it? Whatcha Life Bout is a lyrical track, with a message that goes  against the grain basically. Anit-drug, anti-fade, and nothing but realness. We dill with real situations every day in the hood. Weather it be gun play, low income housing , trapping, or trying to avoid getting evicted etc...  Everyday can't be turn up! pop pills, sip lean etc.., nor am I an advocate of such.  Whatcha life bout is my triumph, against the hurtles of opposition, the expression of where i'm from, and who we are as a people. What are some key influences for you when writing music? I tend to create songs in my head and sort of memorize them, similar to what Jay-z explains when he stated he doesn't write. Whatcha Life Bout" is an example of that. But I would have to say the Bible of course, Hip Hop, my environment , and my experiences within that environment. What are your next steps in your music industry journey? Network with blogs, radio stations etc..to further my music reach. l'd also like to land some features in/on  magazines, the XXL, The Sources etc..and build up a fan base. • Rising Entrepreneur Releases Newest Single “He Be On”

Calling Springfield Illinois his hometown, and Houston Texas his playground, yet being birthed in Minnesota, Roo grew up street influenced as a young child surrounded by various negative influences. Growing up served as the base for the finishing product of Roo today. With enough arrest on drugs, and gun charges, he brings a new flavor to simply being just "street”, solidifying his authenticity. Roo released his single “He Be On” which begins with a lively, symphonic beat that isn’t typically the norm for an introduction to a rap record! The melodious and monophonic undertones in his rap flow was highly neat and dope to hear. After the first verse of delivering bars, Roo completely surprises you with a smooth-sailing RnB vocal delivery that showcases his caliber in singing. Roo had an infectious vocal tone that flowed fluently above the melodic hook. His musicality as an artist just pops out to you while listening. You can also context that Roo is passionate about his music, his lyrics seemed to have came from a place of raw and bonafide true songwriting. Just another level to this authentic nature. Roo has a quality to him that is distinguishable on its own. A very solid wordplay with a touch of that midwestern, southern swang has the right amount of kick to his artistry. With his very own shoe-line out, this young business tycoon is somebody to be on the lookout for this 2019 year! Give a listen to Roo's "He Be On" here, and scroll below for the artists interview! How has your upbringing and background impacted your style of music? Well, I can’t speak bad on my upbringing I had it better than most I guess but my daddy was a Gangster tho so naturally its in me but I had a big part trying to keep me from it. I kinda put my self thru more than I would have went through listening to somebody lol. But I guess the hustle and the trap kind of called out to me so naturally thats where all my experiences come from. I have never worked a job longer than 3 months in my life so literally thats all I have experience wise to draw on is street shit, and I guess it comes out in many ways and forms lol. What are some challenges you’ve faced in your career so far and how did you overcome them? I think the biggest challenge was myself. I hindered a lot of my own progress by not focusing. Im too busy hustlin and in these streets I never really took much beyond that serious. When I finally did tho I guess that was really it for that cause I don’t have those issues that other artist do cause I do EVERYTHING myself. I didn’t have a studio or engineer so I bought my own equipment and learned to do it myself. I aint have a videographer to shoot my videos so I got my own and shot my own by my damn self. Thats the fun part of this shit to me is that I can literally do what the hell I want to and can’t no label say no can’t no A&R tell me I gotta do this and that. Which leaves me one challenge, and thats getting heard and getting my music out there. Thats the one obstacle im not over yet. All I need to be is heard and the rest I believe will fall right into place once I get the right ears tuned to what I'm saying. Tell us about “He Be On” and the meaning behind it? Its more or less about the pleasures of hustling lol, the type of shit I be on lol…funny thing, I wrote that song and really wasn’t intending to sing the hook, I wrote it and the way it sounded in my head rapping it wasn’t how it sounded when I recorded it lol. So I immediately didn’t like it lol. I smoked a blunt and was goofing off and was jus playin like and sang the hook like I did and the homie was like “aye!!! Go record that shit on there before u forget the harmony”. And one take and it was laid then the whole song jus kinda meshed after that. What inspired you to write “He Be On” ? It was the beat really lol ShoutsOut to Downtown Music Productions, my boy delivered on some work! and me being the guy I am I know what to do with a good cook up. Tell us about this upcoming summer and the exciting goals you’re anticipating on achieving! Im hoping to get my buzz going and get this music heard, really thats my only priority. The music comes to me when I'm inspired so I dot sweat it like that, I have plenty to do. My shoe line TioMani Footwear are available now so hit up my instagram page for links. Im hoping to take summer’19 and make it an entry to a new phase of life, success! Stay connected with Roo via the artists Instagram! #BuzzMusic

  • Hip Hop Duo 148 Impresses Us With Their New Single “Grammy”

148 is a hip hop duo of aficionados with a love for music and a playful yet assertive lyrical disposition. Their collective vision is to deliver a virtual space in which people can be free, feel connected through music or use music to escape from a negative place. Their influences include the likes of Akon to Gucci Mane. 148’s first release, “Dark Matter”, was released in February 2019 and features their songs “Blessed” and “Party Starter”. 2019 promises to be a busy year as they continue to record and release their music. 148 released their a brand new single called “Grammy”. The song begins with rich sounding synths, and the vocals that come in shortly thereafter are soft and lulling. When the verse begins, the song picks up with a rhythmically stimulating beat and punchy lyrics. Some of the songs themes seem to allude to the pursuit of success in both a career and personal life. The arrangement is well presented, with several simple aspects combining together to make a much more complex blend. The lyrics are passionate, but also have a certain confident swagger to them. 148 is an impressive duo, and we recommend you check out the brand new “Grammy” today! Make sure to give a listen to "Grammy" here, and keep scrolling for 148's exclusive interview! Thanks for answering a few questions! First of all, how did the two of you meet and form 148? We met during our undergraduate days at McMaster University, and eventually ended up living together in 148 Westwood avenue. A house that played a pivotal role in most of the stories we tell in our lyrics till today. We actually didn’t start making music until half way through our final year after we freestyled for an hour on a boat at our roommates’ cottage, a very iconic day. We realized we both had this talent for storytelling and there was a unique chemistry present when we fed off each others energy. We kept freestyling on beats, after late nights out most of the time until we decided to buy a mic on Black Friday. The rest is history … Who would you say your biggest artistic influences are? Growing up in Nigeria, we were exposed to a variety of artists at a young age that we have certainly embraced in the music we create. Artists such as Akon, Lil Wayne, D’Banj, 50 Cent, Kanye West & T-Pain laid the foundation for the passion we have for music. Moving forward in our musical journey our sound has also been inspired by newer artists like Big Sean, Drake & the Migos. However, we pride ourselves on the originality of the vibe we create. When we started 148, we believed that our sound carries a special energy we wanted to share with the world. 3. Would you describe your writing process and how your music ends up coming together? We really just go off the beats and try to tell the story we hear. We stay open minded about topics and just freestyle. We’ve been blessed to work with some gifted artists, engineers and producers like Kobi, Jms & Jism. Building these relationships with other creators makes the whole process more organic and authentic. When’s its all said and done we just try and have a good time and that materializes into hits. “Grammy” is your new single. Would you say there is a specific meaning behind the music or lyrics in this case? This song is special because we had the opportunity to work with a talented artist & childhood friend, MofyJoey. Grammy explores a dream many musicians have of being recognized by fans and peers for their contributions in music.  One of the most prestigious awards in the music industry, this song delves into our development as artists as we strive to perfect our craft in hopes of one day gracing that stage. Despite the illustrious nature of the award, We have a greater desire to see safety and camaraderie in our communities. The song also speaks on other inspirations including feeding your family, finding that special someone, taking that trip you always wanted and generally living your best life. What can we hope to see from 148 going forward into 2019? Building on from Dark Matter, We already have a bunch of new hits loaded up for the summer accompanied with some mind blowing visuals! We’re also headlining a show at this years Canadian Music Week Festival in Toronto at 3030 Dundas West. We’ll be previewing some new material from the album, so you definitely don’t want to miss out. We’ve had some pretty legendary shows already but this one is going to be special! Connect and keep up to date with 148 via their Instagram! #BuzzMusic

  • Pop Duo Broken Echoes Release Dreamy New Single Called “Towers”

Broken Echoes is a pop duo formed in 2015 by childhood friends Kartikeye Ojha and Niank Sharma. They started off by covering a few songs and uploading them to YouTube and playing local gigs in Mumbai, India where both members were located at the time. Broken Echoes then released their first official single called “Captured” on September 15th, 2017. Since then, the duo have released two more singles and a four song E.P. Niank Sharma is based in Bristol, UK and working to achieve his master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bristol. Kartikeye Ohja is a graduate of the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles, California where he obtained a degree in guitar performance. “Towers” is a brand new single released by Broken Echoes and is the first song from their “Midnight Walks” E.P. The song begins with a simple acoustic guitar and vocals which immediately set up a calming and sensitive atmosphere. Eventually, more of your classic instruments enter the arrangement, including drums, bass and additional guitars. The song builds seamlessly and eventually features strings, creating a lush background on which the soaring vocals are showcased. The overall atmosphere of the music is actually quite serene and soothing, and credit should be given to this charismatic duo for putting together a song that will let you forget your troubles for a few minutes. We highly recommend this new single and encourage you to check it out today! Listen to "Towers" here and get to know more about Broken Echoes below! Hey, thank you so much for answering a few questions! First of all, how did you guys go from being childhood friends to forming Broken Echoes? We first met way back in the third grade and became friends as we were in the same class. A few years later, Kartikeye had to switch schools for high school and since social media was yet to be discovered back then we lost touch with each other for quite a while. We were reunited after a couple of years at a mutual friend’s party and discovered our shared interest in music. Starting off with a few casual jamming sessions, we decided to give recording and uploading covers on Youtube a go. Our interest in music kept growing and soon we started exploring song -writing and production, formed Broken Echoes and released a few originals, all of which has led us to where we are right now! You relocated to the UK, but before that you were in Mumbai, India. How would you describe the overall music scene there? Music in Mumbai or India in general is more inclined towards Bollywood (hindi music) but there’s a fair amount of western music as well, and its overall audience is increasing everyday! What is your songwriting process generally like? How does the music all come together? Our songs have been inspired from many different places. Our personal lives, our friends and even random people one of us might happen to notice or talk to once in a while. Since we’re both in different parts of the world, FaceTime and Skype have been very helpful to us! It all starts with an idea in either of our minds. Voice notes, Google docs, and a little bit of work later we eventually end up with a raw song in our heads and start working on it’s production if we think it has potential. The production process is usually slower in comparison as it involves loads of drafts and exchanges of ideas. Once we’re (mostly) happy with the production, the next step involves recording our parts (vocals, guitar etc.) separately and getting them all together in one place. Having done that, we start working on mixing and mastering the song and giving it its final touches. You have a new single called “Towers”. You’ve managed to create a song with a gorgeous atmosphere, but is there anything else behind the music in this case in terms of a message or meaning? Towers is a part of our latest E.P. Midnight Walks. Like most of our songs, Towers is also based on reality. It’s the story of a young couple who unexpectedly stumble upon love and it changes their lives completely. The song personifies these feelings and repeatedly hints that true love is eternal, and that the couple would always find a way back to each other. What can we hope to see from Broken Echoes in the future? We are still exploring different moods and sounds for our music hence its is difficult to pinpoint what one can expect from us. All that we can say is we have something exciting and different planned for our next few releases after Midnight Walks and that we can’t wait to share it with you guys soon! • RA Light Wants His Listeners To Go Live Their Dream With “Ninja Go”

RA Light releases his single titled “Ninja Go” alongside Xeperr, and the lyrics were highly repetitive but addicting! “Why you so worried about me, ninja go live your, ninja go live your dream” it was cheeky and whimsical along with relatable! I’ve listened to this single a few times before writing this and after the second listening the song became immensely glued to my brain and I couldn’t help but repeat that lyric over and over again. This is a great sign that proves RA Light knows how to create a timeless effect on himself. What I also liked about “Ninja Go” was the incorporation of the spirituality RA light possesses. His consciously open-mind fusing together with trendy hip-hop is absolutely trailblazing and hypnotizing! RA Light is a fearless artist who is far from your typical rapper. He delivers messages and holds a motto to each song he releases. “Ninja Go” was fluently dope but also motivationally inspiring. Who doesn’t love a great rap song that encourages its listeners to go out there and live your dream. Tackle your goals, maneuver through your obstacle, and be fearless, ironically just like a ninja, and even more ironically, just like RA Light is doing! Check out "Ninja Go" here. Read more down below in our exclusive interview with RA Light. What are some challenges you’ve faced in your career so far and how do you overcome these challenges? Some of my early songs, the flow and delivery a lil soft, off point. Yet that all with the year 1 wrap (2017), which the recent songs is on pocket and shows an improvement. Major improvements in 2018, and this year alone with some stuff I can't wait to record. Tell us about “Ninja Go” and the meaning behind it? Ninja Go is a song that's kind of reflective, inspirational in that I suggest people not to worry about sh*t and live your life. As long as you harm none, do whatever you want. I made some references to the matrix, esoteric knowledge What inspired you to write “Ninja Go”? To inspire, encourage, has a definite positive message and vibe. How does the title of the song reflect its meaning? Ninja go reflect the hook which ends in Ni**a live your dream! What’s next for you? I'm dropping a couple singles and then my next album Round 2. Got some merch design floating around. Got to get a new mic and home for sure. More space, more time to work on art. Keep up and stay connected with RA Light on the artists Instagram! #BuzzMusic

  • NIGAN Lets “One More Day” Out Of Their Sound Bank Vault

The lead singer from NIGAN has it going on; he easily belts out powerful ballad notes with strength, control and passion. You almost wonder how he is able to hit those high notes and still sound so good! The drums are smashing on this track, the guitars are wailing- it’s a rock ballad through and through. A touching love song, yet the band creates a die hard rock sound to accompany it. If that doesn’t impress you, English isn’t NIGAN's first language. The songs are born in Italian and translated into English and it’s not an easy feat to capture the meaning of lyrics across languages, but the translation is not lost and the beauty and soul of NIGAN's compositions are on full display. NIGAN is made up of four guys from Sardegna, Italy who have a strong desire to communicate their emotions through the music they create. The band began to take shape twenty-two years ago with a chance meeting between bandmates Nicola and Gianfranco leading to instant collaboration. Over the years they added two more members (Andrew and Mario) that have rounded out this foursome quite purposely. Thanks to the meeting with Antonio in 1999, through his criterion of observing the world and his ability to use English, he began to give a true identity to the songs. Here is the first text whose title is "One More Day". Grit and energy, what we needed to enhance a beautiful rock structure. "One More Day” debuted March 26, 2019 on 33 digital platforms. • Vinny Releases A Bilingual Hit “Don Pablo”

A 17 year old rapper who was born in the Venezuela, Vinny was raised in Calgary and just began working to achieve his dreams. He began writing at the age of 12 years old and released his first E.P at the age of 13. Entirely self-taught production and writing, he released one full-length mixtape and is working on releasing another this summer alongside various of singles. We listened to his latest single “Don Pablo” and we were completely impressed by the entire song. What we loved most about this record was how Vinny implemented his Venezuelan swag into his music. You feel a sense of his culture and background while listening. There’s a huge missing gap in today’s industry for a rapper like Vinny and a record like “Don Pablo”. Vinny was able to showcase his versatility by rapping in Spanish while also delivering the heat in english as well. His bilingual flow is something very special to his artistry and is what’s lacking in today’s music industry is an artist who can appeal to a wide range of listeners. “Don Pablo” is digestible for various different types of hip-hop and rap lovers. I loved the soothing acoustics that floated in the back of the simple beat with Vinny’s relaxing delivery. “Don Pablo” is a song you can head bop towards without feeling any sort of aggression from the music. A cooling, kick-back record that still brings the heat. “Don Pablo” sparks your interest in Vinny and what else he has to offer us. We’re excited to see what’s next for this young promising artist! Listen to "Don Pablo" here .
